Chanel Sunrise Trip

 *Purchased by me*

Today I have a gorgeous polish from the Chanel spring collection for you, Chanel Sunrise Trip. I do like to treat myself to Chanel polish every now and then whenever I think they are special and unique. Sunrise Trip is a super juicy purple jelly, what Chanel calls a "nail gloss". It is so glossy, shiny and just perfect. It leans a bit more purple than my pictures show, but with a definite blue tone.

Being that this is a jelly, it is sheer in one coat, but buildable. This is three coats and I still have VNL, but it's the nice kind of VNL that I like when wearing a jelly. I thought the formula was very good, it's a thicker gel-like consistency, but that makes it easy to avoid any pooling or flooding the cuticles. I have read some reviews where people thought it was hard to apply, but my experience with it was very good.

If you like Chanel polish and jellies, this will be a must have for you. Get it soon because it is limited edition. I am really glad I got it! I also love that it isn't so spring-y that it feels out of place right now, because I want to wear it right away!!

Sunrise Trip is available at Chanel.com or Macys.com. I got mine at Macy's and was pleasantly surprised to find out that they now offer free shipping on all beauty purchases!

It's Christmas Eve!! Here are some Lynnderella Holiday Manis!

*Some items sent for review, please see end of post for a list*

Well, it's Christmas Eve day. That means I had better get my butt out to some stores to do my Christmas shopping, I might want to finish decorating the tree, and maybe I think about wrapping presents too (although I never really do that until around midnight on Christmas Eve). But instead of getting going on those projects, I'm going to show you some of my recent holiday Lynnderella manis! This green treat is Lynnderella Do You See What I See?, a core polish from last year's Season's Glitterings collection that is now being discontinued (more on that at the end of the post). I layered it over Revlon Posh.

Lynnderella Garnet Grace came out this summer in the Talismans and Birthstones collection and it is STUNNING! I'm copying Lynnderella's description for this one because it's a surprisingly complex mix of glitter. She says it's a "dense mix of red, burgundy and purple accented with green and orange microglitter in a clear base". This is one coat of Chanel Taboo. Garnet Grace is also being discontinued.

Next up we have a Lynn classic, Happy HoloDaze!, the perfect holiday glitter bomb mix of red, green and holo silver assorted glitters. This one is from the Holiday Houseguests collection two years ago I believe and I don't think it's around anymore. If you ever see it for sale/swap, I absolutely recommend picking it up. This is over Zoya Tomoko.

Finally we have Lynnderella Season's Glitterings, another perfect holiday glitter mix from last year's Season's Glitterings collection. This is probably my favorite Christmas polish ever. It has red and green, I feel like you need those in a Christmas polish, but it also has other colors and a ton of tiny holo glitter to add interest. This is over OPI This Gown Needs a Crown. Season's Glitterings is another beauty that is being discontinued.

*Some items sent for review, please see end of post for a list*

Now, don't panic, I believe all of the polishes on the discontinued list are still available right now. They won't stick around forever, but I think if you just send Paul a message on eBay, you'll find that you can still get them. I did purchase several polishes from this year's holiday collection, but I haven't quite gotten around to wearing them yet. A lot of them are not too holiday specific, so I'll be showing you them in a later post. Lynnderella polish is available at lynnderella.com.

I want to wish all of my readers a Merry Christmas and happy, relaxing holiday season! Thank you so much for reading, I never imagined having this many readers when I started this blog. I will be taking a few days off from posting, but I should be back by the weekend with some polishes that are NOT red and green, haha!

*Zoya Tomoko and OPI This Gown Needs a Crown sent for review. All other polishes purchased by me*

Chanel Alchimie

 Purchased by me.

Hmmmmm... either Chanel is on a roll lately, or I have turned into a giant sucker. I usually get maybe one Chanel polish a year, if that, but so far in 2013, I got 3! I received Taboo from the spring collection and Azure from summer through swaps, but I actually went out and purchased Chanel Alchimie from the fall collection. It's mysterious shimmery olive taupey-ness just made me need it. Alchimie is one of those polishes that doesn't seem to be strongly one color or another. It's olive green, but it's also silvery, gold-ish, maybe a tad taupe in some lights, it's definitely hard to pin down.

Alchimie has a great, highly pigmented formula. I used two coats for these pictures, but it was pretty much opaque in one coat! It was nice and easy to apply. You can see some brushstrokes in these pictures, but I feel they were less obvious in person. However, if you are really anti-brushstrokes, you may not love this.

Chanel Alchimie is part of the Fall 2013 Chanel collection, Superstition, and is still available at Chanel.com, Macy's and several other places. I also picked up the eye shadow quad from the collection, because I am apparently Miss Moneybags over here. Oops!

Purchased by me.

You may notice some changes to the blog in the next few weeks. Just some tweaks and improvements really. As always, if you have something you like/dislike, please send me an email or leave a comment!

Chanel Azure

Base: one coat Nicole by OPI Base Coat Plus
Color: two coats Chanel Azure
Top: one coat Essie Good to Go
Application: good (out of poor, average, good, excellent)
Chanel Azure was purchased by me. All opinions are my own honest thoughts.

While I'm swatching a lot of fall stuff right now, I'm still wearing summer polish, like Chanel Azure. What can I say? I don't buy a lot of Chanel polish, but sometimes they come out with some gorgeous ones and I can't help myself! Azure is a green/blue duochrome. The color shift is very strong. I keep shifting my hands around and staring at the polish while it changes from green to completely blue. I couldn't really capture the duochrome in my pictures, but you can see it's a slightly different color in every picture.

Azure is pretty easy to apply, maybe a tad on the thick side. I never seem to like Chanel's brush, but that might be just me. I also would recommend wearing a ridge-filling base coat because I felt like I could see every imperfection. And those are raindrops in the picture below, not bubbles LOL. Darn CT weather.

Overall, I'm glad I got this and I might still get Bel-Argus too. Did I need it? No, but it's super pretty!

Next up on Never Enough Nails- we go back to fall stuff with Zoya Cashmeres and Satins!!

Born Pretty Store Dazzling Starry Nail Art Foils

Base: one coat CND Stickey
Color: three coats Chanel Taboo, Born Pretty Store Dazzling Starry Nail Art Foils #2 and #3
Top: one coat Gelous
Application: (of Born Pretty Store nail foils) good (out of poor, average, good, excellent)
Born Pretty Store Dazzling Starry Nail Art Foils were sent for review. All opinions are my own honest thoughts.

Happy Caturday everyone! This is a scheduled post because I am out looking at kittens today! In today's post, I try my hand at nail foil for the very first time. Born Pretty Store sent me these excellent Dazzling Starry Nail Art Foils for review and I decided to try them over my Chanel Taboo mani from the other day. Above, you can see the foils in #2, a smooth, reflective holographic gold foil, and #3 a kind of scattered holo pink foil. You can get three containers of foil for only $2.80 each from Born Pretty Store (with free shipping!), making these a much better deal than some of the pricier foil kits out there.

Now, cut me a bit of slack on the final appearance here, as this is my first attempt at nail foils. I do think I learned some helpful tips for next time. Here are the directions from the Born Pretty website that I followed for this look:
"How to use:

1. Prepare your nail bed by shaping, pushing cuticles back and removing all oils (do this using professional nail prep eg scrub fresh or nail polish remover.
2. Apply a base coat, and wait it dry.
3. Apply nail polish(dark color is better), wait it dry, and apply the polish again, wait it dry(not totally dry, a gentle fingerprint is left on the nails when you press your finger on the nail)
4. Press foil shiny side up, onto the nail and rub over using your finger, or for a better more precise application, use a rubber hoof stick. (for best results cut a piece of foil of the length just big enough for the nail, its easier to control and apply flat). Different colors of foils can mixed on the nails
5. Remove the foil and the foil pattern should be stuck to your nail. If a bit is missing, just apply the top coat to the part not taken and repeat to step.4
6. Once completely dry, apply a coat to protect the foil. "

The gold foil (#2) transferred to the nail really easily. There are only a few spots that you can see it didn't transfer. I decided to leave them there on purpose, for more of a random look. The pink foil (#3) was harder to get on my nail. It didn't really seem to want to transfer well. I would probably not want to try to do a whole nail with just the pink, but it was OK for mixing with the gold. What I like about this foil look is that it looks cool with some random placement. In fact, next time, I think I would try to cover less of my nail and make it look even more random. One thing I had a bit of difficulty with was determining when the polish was dry enough to apply the foil, yet still slightly damp enough for the foil to transfer. If your polish is too wet, the foil peels the polish away; if the polish is too dry, the foil doesn't transfer. However, I have a feeling this is something that you would get used to with some practice!

I would definitely recommend the Born Pretty Store Dazzling Starry Nail Art Foils. They are gorgeous, come in a ton of different colors and patterns (I have the leopard print one to show you too!), and very inexpensive! There is also a video tutorial on their website if you'd rather watch someone do it first. Get these pretty nail foils at Born Pretty Store!

NOTD and Lemming Aquired: Chanel Taboo

Base: one coat CND Stickey
Color: two coats Chanel Taboo
Top: one coat Essie Good to Go
Application: excellent (out of poor, average, good, excellent)
I received Chanel Taboo in a swap. All opinions are my own honest thoughts.

I have been lemming Chanel Taboo since the day it came out, but quite frankly, I didn't want to pay for it. In an excellent stroke of luck for me, I actually ended up swapping for this on Makeup Alley! I swapped away a Chanel face cleanser I wasn't even using, so it felt like getting Taboo for free! Taboo is ridiculously stunning in the bottle. It looks like a red-purple galaxy with silver stars floating throughout. On my nails, however, it kind of looks like your average blue-toned vampy purple, albeit those pretty silver flecks dancing around. Now don't get me wrong, I really love Taboo. I am a huge sucker for vampy Chanel polishes. I think if I had paid actual money for this, I'd be a little bummed though. I do think the silver flecks make it different from other vampy purples we've seen in the past.

One thing is for sure, application here was a breeze. I only needed two coats, and the formula was excellent. Just the right level of thickness and easy to apply. If you get Taboo, you do not need to fear bad application.

So overall, I'm glad I got this in a swap. I will definitely keep it, but I'm not sure it's worth $27! Still, a lemming satisfied is a good feeling! I just have to get rid of my Chanel Azure lemming now, yikes! Taboo is still available on Chanel.com if you just can't get past your desire for it.

I know it's only Thursday, but do you have any fun plans this weekend? I do... I'm going to look at kittens on Saturday!!!!! Some of you may remember that my kitty Marbles, my best friend for 17 years, passed away about a year ago. I still am so thankful for all of your support and kind words during that time. I now feel like I am finally ready for a new kitty and there are a bunch up for adoption from a local cat rescue project, so I am SO EXCITED for Saturday! Whenever I find the right kitten for me, you can expect about 3 billion pictures LOL!

Gorgeous Chanel Glossimers in Calypso and Jalousie!

I have a problem. A lip gloss problem. I LOVE me some gloss and have TONS of it. But, despite the fact that my room runneth over with gloss, I keep purchasing more. Fortunately, in the case of these two Chanel Glossimers, the purchases are often quite worth it!! On the left here we have Chanel Jalousie, a stunning deep fuchsia pink gloss with very very fine shimmer. Jalousie is one of the more pigmented Chanel Glossimers I've come across.

On the right is Chanel Calypso from the Chanel Summer 2012 collection. Calypso is my kind of gloss, a juicy orange with gold shimmer flecks. The shimmer in Calypso is much more visible than the very fine shimmer in Jalousie. Calypso is also pigmented, although less so than Jalousie.

Jalousie on the lips. This was a bit of a light application. Jalousie can be MUCH more pigmented than this. When applied a little heavier, it looks just like my arm swatch above.

Calypso on the lips. Love. Again, this could be applied heavier for a bit more color, but I really like it this way.

Chanel Calypso and Jalousie are available now online at Chanel.com.

OPI Just Spotted The Lizard!!

If you've been reading this blog for awhile, you may remember that I referred to Chanel Peridot as "Polish of the Gods". I am not entirely sure why my pictures in that post are so small, but whatever, you get the idea. I LOVE CHANEL PERIDOT! So I was pretty pumped when OPI came out with OPI Just Spotted the Lizard in the OPI The Amazing Spider-Man collection. I wanted a back-up of Peridot, but didn't want to pay the price tag a second time. I also know that there are others dupes, but none were very accessible brands for me personally. I am doing a happy dance for this polish!

Look at all of this gorgeous green/gold duochrome!! And that shiny finish!! LOVE!

Like the Chanel version, Just Spotted the Lizard is nicely pigmented, requiring only two coats to look UNBELIEVABLE. I prefer the OPI Pro-Wide Brush to Chanel's long, thin brush, so I enjoyed using the OPI more. The formula is very similar as well, both are thin, but in a good way that makes them easy to control and apply perfectly.

So the OPI has the same formula as the Chanel, requires the same number of coats as the Chanel, has a better brush and is WAY cheaper. Now, I'm sure you want to know.... are they exact dupes?? Please, view the photos below:

Can you tell I'm wearing two different polishes? No? Me neither!! In these two pictures I am wearing: (left to right) OPI Just Spotted the Lizard, Chanel Peridot, OPI Just Spotted the Lizard, Chanel Peridot. I am very confident calling them exact dupes.

Don't own either of these? Get the OPI. You'll save cash and have the same gorgeous nails.

So, any big plans for Mother's Day? I am going to make my mom some delicious breakfast and something good for dinner. I got her some Laura Mercier Creme Brulee body cream and some other goodies, so it should be fun!!

OPI Just Spotted the Lizard and the other shades in the Amazing Spider-Man collection should be available now at Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, and ULTA, for  $8.50 ($9.95 CAN) suggested retail for each Nail Lacquer.

Chanel Spring 2012 Harmonie de Printemps

I have an awesome boyfriend. Let me throw that out there. He is very supportive of my insane make-up and nail polish addictions, and readily agrees to buy me make-up for every birthday and holiday. This year's Christmas gift was very special- a large box of Chanel make-up!!! Most of it was from the Spring 2012 Harmonie De Printemps collection and I have some swatches/pictures of those items for you! Above, you can see that the order came in GORGEOUS complimentary gift packaging, a white and gold box with a beautiful snowflake design and Chanel logo.

Here are my pretty boxes inside the gift packaging. On the left is an eyeliner that is actually from the Fall 2011 collection, Khaki Platine, but I have wanted it ever since then. Then you have the Blush Horizon De Chanel, bottom right, Bagatelle glossimer, middle right, and Flirt Rouge Coco Shine, top right. Missing from this picture is a permanent product released in the fall, Mirifique Illusions d'Ombre eye shadow (that is getting it's own post).

The Blush Horizon De Chanel is the star product of the collection, in my opinion. Mainly because it looks gorgeous in the package. I am really sorry, but I haven't been able to convince myself to swatch this yet!!! I promise I will swatch it in the next few days and post a picture of me wearing it. But I needed to admire it for a few days first.

Above is a swatch of Flirt Rouge Coco Shine. Rouge Coco Shines are sheer lip colors that I personally love. Flirt is my fourth Rouge Coco Shine, so you can tell I like the formula a lot. If you like your lipsticks to pack a huge color punch and last all day, these may not be for you. I, however, like a nice healthy tint to my lips and I am constantly reapplying my lip product out of habit. I don't normally wear lipstick, but I find I can wear Rouge Coco Shines on any occasion because they are sheer and not too in your face.

Underneath Flirt is Bagatelle glossimer. Glossimers are very pretty shimmery lip glosses. They are usually not very pigmented, again, I like a more subtle lip. Bagatelle is probably one of the more pigmented glossimers, but is still very wearable for me.

I also swatched Khaki Platine eyeliner because I love it!! It's a green gray shimmery liner that I find to be really unique. It was kind of dark when I swatched this, so I may reswatch. It's more pigmented, shimmery and darker in real life.

The blush came packaged in this adorable velvet pouch!!! It also comes with a brush in it's own little pouch. I just had to take pictures of the pouches!!

More blush pictures, see the little brush? So cute!!! I promise to swatch this blush very soon!

The Chanel Harmonie De Printemps collection is online at chanel.com or at a Chanel counter near you.

Chanel Peridot, a.k.a. The Polish of the Gods

Chanel Peridot is the Must Have of all Must Haves. You MUST own this if you love nail polish, green, gold, duochrome, or shiny things. I love all of the above, so this polish was clearly designed for me. Not only is Peridot clearly GORGEOUS (are you looking at these pictures?!?), it is also super pigmented! This is two coats, but there was no VNL at only one coat. Seriously. I only bothered with two coats because I think it brought out the duochrome better. This green and gold duochrome is so amazing, I am posting ten pictures of it. If you click read more, I have 8 more pictures of this baby, plus more gushing about it's amazingness.
