YSL Peace Green

*Purchased by me*

Whew, what a long break from posting! I am sorry for vanishing unannounced, but I got crazy busy with St. Patrick's Day and had no unposted swatches. Then I went right to Scotland for the Irish dance World Championships, so blogging just went out the window! I am working my way back into the swing of things and have the gorgeous YSL Peace Green for you today. Peace Green is a nice mint green with tons of pink shimmer. I love contrasting shimmer polishes, so I knew I had to have this when I first saw it. The pink shimmer really pops and makes this a winner.

This is three coats. Unfortunately, it definitely needs at least three coats and the first two coats are kind of uneven looking. The good news is that it does even out and become opaque after the third coat.

Now because Peace Green is pretty much sold out, I did try to dupe it for you. Below I tried Sally Hansen Let's Get Digital over OPI That's Hula-rious! on my index and ring fingers. It has a pink glow about it, but the shimmer is chunkier. The shimmer in Peace Green is so smooth and velvety. The mint of Peace Green is also more blue than That's Hula-rious! But you do still get the idea of the pink shimmer with mint, so maybe this will help someone!

If you are pining away for YSL Peace Green, I would try actually calling Nordstrom at 1.888.282.6060. They may be able to locate a bottle for you. Otherwise, check blog sales and FB polish groups.

A Spring-y Lynnderella Friday, Vol. 36!

*Sent for review*

Sorry for the radio silence around here lately. Longtime readers of my blog know that this happens every March. It's just one of the fun things about being an Irish dance teacher. I barely have time to shower and feed myself, so blogging time is hard to come by. Stick around for another week or so and it will settle down! Today I do have some beautiful Lynnderella spring polishes for you, starting with the stunning Lynnderella Daffy. Daffy is a gorgeous sunshine yellow thermal with pink shimmer. The cold color is a great bright lemon yellow and when it gets warm, it turns to the prettiest super pastel baby chick yellow. The pink shimmer and yellow micro flakes are visible when it is cold or warm.

I used three thin coats of Daffy for these swatches. It was a little sheer and streaky on the first coat, but really evened out nicely with the second and third. I love yellows and I am really excited about the pink shimmer in this one!

Lynnderella Who Put the "Me" in Mermaid is one half of a cute spring set (the other half is called Who Put the "You" in Unicorn?). Lynnderella says this beauty is "made with five different shimmers, iridescent fire opal glitter, bright aqua holographic microglitter and silver holgraphic micro flakes in a pink-shimmered base".  The pink shimmer really shows through nicely and I am still loving these fire opal glitters! So cool!

This is three thin coats of Who Put the "Me" in Mermaid?. It was easy to apply and has a good formula.

Are you ready for summer?? This polish makes me long for summer days at the beach with a great neon pink on my nails! Lynnderella Pink-Up Line is a hot pink with lots of holo microglitter. It's pretty neon, my camera was kind of having a heart attack about it. But it has shimmer in it as well, so it doesn't look chalky the way some neons do. The holo glitter really makes this one special.

This is two flawless coats. You could maybe even do one coat, it's a real winner formula-wise.

Daffy and Pink-Up Line are on lynnderella.com now and you can order the spring set with Who Put the "Me" in Mermaid? by emailing lynnderellalacquer@gmail.com.

Lynnderella Friday, Vol. 35!

*Sent for review*

I have a quick post today because St. Patrick's Day madness is well under way. We have 3 shows today, 7 shows and a parade tomorrow, and a parade and show tomorrow!! But what this post lacks in length, it makes up in sparkles! Lynnderella Mermaid Material is a stunning aqua microglitter with aqua/blue accent glitters and a blue shimmered base. If I were a mermaid, I would want my tail to be this exact color. Bonus points if it is glittery too!

This is three thin coats. You could do two coats of this, but you know I always opt for three. I used one good layer of top coat here and it's nice and shiny. I found Mermaid Material to be pretty easy to work with, maybe a tad thicker, but not too much so.

 *Purchased by me*

Lynnderella Donut Hol-O! is an oldie, but I am just getting around to wearing it now! Donut Hol-O! has my favorite silver holo circle glitters is various sizes, silver holo shimmer in the base, and multi-colored donut glitter. I got two purple donuts, but there are also red, blue and pink ones in there. I LOVE all the holo shimmer in the base, this is just the perfect topper for any base color!

I used one coat of Donut Hol-O! over Sally Hansen Emerald Express. You know I had to do green for St. Patrick's Day events!! The glitters in Donut Hol-O! got a little bit clumped together, so I did have to push them around a bit to get them spread out evenly.

Mermaid Material is available now on lynnderella.com. Donut Hol-O! is not currently available, but keep checking back or email lynnderellalacquer@gmail.com to see if you can grab a bottle!

Two New OPI Collections for Spring- SoftShades and Infinite Shine!

From Runways with Love:
EIGHT NEW SPRING INFINITE SHINE SHADES FROM OPI

OPI Infinite Shine No Light Gel-Lacquer is a professional 3-step system offering the high-shine and long-wear of a gel manicure with the ease of application and removal of nail polish. Prepare to shine on (and on) in spring’s most sophisticated hues, with up to 10 days of wear and gel-like shine.
“This collection takes its color cues from the spring runways. Look for baby pinks, heartwarming corals, blooming berry, lush green, shower-cloud gray, and un-bashful nude, all rendered in crème formulas,” said Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Co-Founder and Creative Director. Infinite Shine now boasts a choice of 70 colors in total.
Infinite Shine features a simple three-step system; first, apply Infinite Shine Primer (Step 1), which goes beyond the capabilities of a standard base coat to prime nails for a revolutionary grip on color, while also preventing staining. Next, select your gel-lacquer shade (Step 2) and paint two thin, even coats for richly-pigmented, vivid color. Finish with Infinite Shine Gloss (Step 3), a state-of-the-art gel polymer top coat that cures in natural light. Product is easily removed with standard nail lacquer remover; no soaking is required.

Pastel Power

OPI SOFTSHADES 2016
April showers bring May flowers...and Pastels, six freshly minted OPI SoftShades.

Softly shaded, seriously opaque and knockout gorgeous, these pastels are unmistakably there. Pale lilac, yellow and green redefine cool, while creamy white makes an indelible impression. Baby peach and blue have never looked more grown up. All are demure with a bit of an edge, and über chic.
“Inspired by the spring 2016 runways, we offer a fashion-forward interpretation of the pastel palette,” saidSuziWeiss-Fischmann,OPICo-FounderandBrandAmbassador. “Insteadoftheexpectedsheer and muted look, we’ve chosen a finish that adds a ‘mod’ element to our shades without diminishing their refinement.”
This is a color story we absolutely love,” adds Weiss-Fischmann. “Our pastels play well together, and create a myriad of sophisticated, feminine looks from accent nails to French tips and nail art. Plus, they bring plenty of modern romance to bridal, prom and other spring/summer occasions.”
OPI SoftShades 2016 Pastels include the following shades in both nail lacquer and GelColor formulas:

Swatches of New Sally Hansen Shades from the Digital Overload Collection!

*Sent for review*

Monday already??? The weekend really flies by, doesn't it? And here we are right back at Monday yet again.  But I do have some pretty new Sally Hansen polishes to show you to hopefully make your Monday brighter! These three are from the new Digital Overload Miracle Gel collection. Right from the minute I saw these, I was most excited about Sally Hansen Let's Get Digital. Now, I originally thought that this would be a pale blue standalone creme with loads of pink shimmer, but it turned out to be a sheer blue topper with lots of pink shimmer. It adds a lot of shimmer and depth with just one coat, so I'm not bothered by it being a topper. I think it will actually make it more useful, because you can layer it over lots of colors!

Above, you can see one layer of Let's Get Digital over Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Dive Bar, a robin's egg blue creme. Let's Get Digital was super easy to apply and went on very evenly. Below, you can see two coats by itself. You can see it's nice and even, but very sheer.

I want to try this over a mint green creme to see if it's sort of dupe-y for YSL Peace Green. Stay tuned for that post!

Sally Hansen World Wide Red is a bright orange-y red creme. It has little touches of coral in the mix too. I actually think it looked more orange than this in person. I love a good bright orange red for summer, so this will definitely go in the rotation!

This is two flawless coats. I do love the Miracle Gel formula! I find it to be easy to work with and a great consistency.

If you're looking for a new bright sunshine yellow creme this spring, look no further! Sally Hansen Gigabryte is a gorgeous sunny dandelion creme. Very bold-looking and happy!

This is two coats and nary a streak in sight! Yay for smooth coverage yellows! The first coat maybe had a streak or two, but they were quickly covered up and evened out with the second coat. This has a great formula, nice and opaque, and surprisingly easy to use for a yellow creme.

All of these swatches were topped with one layer of the newly reformulated Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Top Coat. I love that top coat. I actually have been using it with other polishes. I find it to be very plush and shiny and it dries fairly fast without being a QDTC. It works really well with the SH Miracle Gel polishes for sure.

These three beauties are available now at a drugstore near you!

Lynnderella Friday, Vol. 34!

*Sent for review*

Well it's officially March, crazy time for me! We already have a bunch of shows today and both days this weekend, so we're kicking off St. Patrick's Day month pretty well, haha! I am already sporting green nails too, so I'm well prepared. Speaking of green nails, Lynnderella Windfall is a shimmering forest green with holo microglitter. Lynnderella describes this as a "multishimmered dark green with subtle gold holographic microglitter". It's very complex looking and the holo comes through nicely. I don't see the gold microglitter, but it does lend a nice warmer sheen to the polish.

This is two SUPER easy coats of Windfall. You probably could do one coat depending on your application. This was also really smooth without top coat, although I did use one layer to bring out the shimmer. I will definitely sport this one during March!!

Lynnderella Goosey is a glowing golden treasure of a polish. It is a combo of golden shimmer and gold holo microglitter with lots of pink shimmer. It also has these awesome iridescent fire opal glitters that might be a new favorite of mine. I think you can see those best in my indoor picture (a few pics down). I think the pink shimmer in this will make it wearable for people who think they can't wear gold polish.

This is two coats of Goosey. It applied very nicely, I didn't have to do any clean up. Like Windfall, it was pretty smooth without top coat, but these swatches have one layer to accentuate shine.

Below is the indoor picture. The fire opal glitters are so cool! They just glow!

OMG Lynnderella Chocolate Bunny Ears makes me want chocolate SO BADLY!!! But I gave up chocolate for Lent! I also gave up complaining, so I can't even complain about not eating chocolate! Chocolate Bunny Ears is a delicious rich reddish chocolate with lots of holo glitter. Lynnderella describes it as "chocolate creme shimmer, pink holographic microglitter and pink shimmer". I like to describe it as "YUMMY!".

This is two coats. Great formula, nice and smooth application.

And now for my current NOTD- Lynnderella 12-7-14 Pistachio Trifle over OPI I'm Sooo Swamped! Pistachio Trifle is an Advent polish that I purchased back in 2014 when it came out, but I thought it would be a great topper for I'm Sooo Swamped! Turns out I was right, these two are a perfect pair!

This is one layer of Pistachio Trifle over two coats of the OPI. I am testing out my new Vapid Lacquer base and top coats with this mani, so I will keep you posted on how that goes! (So far I am SOLD!)

With the exception of Pistachio Trifle, these are all available now on lynnderella.com. I don't know if Pistachio Trifle is sold out or if it might pop up someday, but you can always email Paul (lynnderellalacquer@gmail.com) if you are looking for a polish.
