OPI Femme de Cirque Part Two

OPI I Juggle... Men over OPI A Grape Fit

OPI's Femme de Cirque collection continues to make me happy here in Part Two of my review. I Juggle... Men is a micro-glitter top coat with a touch of duochrome that can add subtle shimmer to any boring creme you own. The shimmer particles in this top coat are a bit like the famous shimmer in Chanel polishes. Very subtle, yet they add gorgeous depth and shine. I think you could re-create some of Chanel's popular polishes (ahem... Jade) with I Juggle... Men. This is two coats of I Juggle... Men over two coats of A Grape Fit (one of my favorite purple cremes, by the way).

OPI I Juggle... Men over OPI A Grape Fit

I think I would be able to show you the gorgeousness of this shimmer in the sunlight. Unfortunately, I live in The Land of Perpetual Winter. It's spring, yet we have a Winter Weather Advisory right now. Seriously. As soon as I see the sun again, I'll photograph this one again. I definitely recommend picking this polish up. I think it will add new life to any existing (boring) cremes you already own.

OPI In The Spotlight Pink

I already showed you In The Spotlight Pink worn as a French Manicure, but I wanted to show it to you worn alone. This is three coats. I did use a milky-hued base coat to even out my nails for this (I used Zoya Get Even). I actually wore this by itself for several days. I enjoyed the simplicity of it, I think. This polish looks so glowy and pretty all by itself.

OPI In The Spotlight Pink

In The Spotlight Pink has the same squishy texture as the other two sheers in this collection. I never expected to like any of these, and shockingly, I like them all! Now, will I be changing my spots and sporting only sheers this spring? Definitely not. I still obsess over glitter and bling. However, I can see that without these polishes, there was a hole in my polish collection. These pale shades have a home in my collection now and will be worn again in the future.

Polishes in this post were sent to me for review by a PR agent for OPI. For more information, please read my Disclosure Policy.

OPI Femme de Cirque Part One- A Never Enough Nails Change of Heart

OPI So Many Clowns...So Little Time

I'm pretty sure it's no secret that I do not really wear sheer pink/nude nail polish. I love vampy colors, OPI Russian Navy being one of my all-time favorite polishes, and you know I love me some glitter. HOWEVER...

I really like OPI's new Soft Shades collection, Femme de Cirque!! No, no, I don't have a fever, I just think I like the change of pace. I think every nail polish addict goes through a phase where they get semi-bored with every new release, and I think Femme de Cirque is the cure for that problem. It's such a drastic change for me that it feels really fresh. Let's take a look.

OPI So Many Clowns... So Little Time

So Many Clowns...So Little Time is a creamy nude pink jelly-ish polish. I think the reason I am enjoying this collection so much is due to the jelly finish of the polishes. I normally find nude pinks and sheers to be streaky, difficult to work with, and frankly just ugly, but So Many Clowns applied like a dream. It is not streaky at all and gives my nails this beautiful natural glowing look. I bet it would look fabulous with a tan. I don't know if I've ever seen a sheer this streak free. My main problem with sheers has been that my nails actually look worse when I wear them. So Many Clowns makes them look amazing though! I can see myself wearing this a lot. This is three coats.

OPI Step Right Up!

OPI Step Right Up!

Step Right Up! is my favorite of the collection. The above picture has some weird shadows in it, but it the best color representation of this polish. It has a lot more pink in it than So Many Clowns, but still has the same squishy jelly feeling, although it is slightly more opaque. This is a really flattering color. The word that comes to mind with this polish is "well-rested". It makes me feel like a rich heiress who gets a mani every 4 days while laying by the pool. This is a polish you probably have to see in person to fully appreciate. I did not own anything like this until now, and I can see that my polish wardrobe was in serious need of this kind of color. Like So Many Clowns, Step Right Up! makes my nails look fabulous. This is also three coats.

OPI In The Spotlight Pink

I thought I'd show you In The Spotlight Pink in it's intended usage- a French manicure pink. This is one coat of In The Spotlight Pink with OPI Alpine Snow chevron tips. This makes a lovely French combo, and I know a lot of French mani fans are always searching for that perfect combination of colors. In The Spotlight Pink is a glowy shell pink sheer that makes my nails look pretty and healthy. I wore this combo for a day and really liked it. I haven't worn a French manicure in years, but again, I think the change of pace was nice. I'm actually wearing three coats of In the Spotlight Pink right now, and I will show you that in the Part Two of this post.

OPI In The Spotlight Pink

I also have I Juggle...Men, the shimmery top coat, to show you in Part Two. The sun set too quickly for me to get that one! Overall, I give this collection a 10/10. Yes, a perfect score for a collection of sheers! These are BY FAR the best sheers I have ever encountered. No streaking, no goopy mess, just perfect application and a healthy glow. (By the way, all of these pics are clickable, so you can see how un-streaky the polishes really are). These are all also super shiny. I showed them with a top coat, but you definitely do not necessarily need one. I can't believe OPI actually has ME wearing sheers. What is the world coming to? If you're like me and don't own anything like this, I think at least Step Right Up! is a MUST HAVE!

These were sent to me for review. For more information, please see my Disclosure Policy.

I Want This Collection NOWWWWWWWWW! OPI Fall 2011 Preview!

OPI just sent this out today. I know Fall/Winter 2011 is ridiculously far away, but I ALWAYS love fall collections more than summer. I guess I'm just a vampy nail type of girl. I am SOOOO excited for this collection. I'm actually happy to have this info this far ahead, so I can make sure I get all the colors I want. I think it's really cool to have melon and coral shades in a fall collection too. Something different! I Eat Mainely Lobster= WANT.

I also think maybe OPI listened at least a little about how bad the names were getting. Some of these are kind of cute, like Are We There Yet? (who didn't say that in the car as a kid???) and Road House Blues. Also, THERE IS ONLY ONE RED IN THIS COLLECTION!!! That is impressive and I'm pretty happy about that. On to the info:

"OPI Launches Touring America Collection for Fall/Winter 2011

OPI hits the open road with a new take on classic style in the Touring America Collection for Fall/Winter 2011. Inspired by Americana and cities with rich cultural heritage, the collection’s twelve shades offer comfortable glamour and wearable elegance for nails and toes.

“My recent road trip across the country sparked the creation of the Touring America Collection,” says Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “Autumn is a time for reinvention, and these shades revive classic, iconic colors for fall, from cool heather, khaki and chocolate to warm rose, peach and red.”

The season’s go-to shades of taupe and pearl grey appear in variations from dark to light – A-taupe the Space Needle, Get in the Expresso Lane, French Quarter for Your Thoughts, and Suzi Takes the Wheel. Lush urban neutrals in deep sapphire (Road House Blues), rich raisin (Honk If You Love OPI), chic olive (Uh-oh Roll Down the Window), and coffee brown (I Brake for Manicures) merge with iconic red (Color to Diner For), vivid rose (My Address is “Hollywood”), and luminous coral and orange (I Eat Mainely Lobster, Are We There Yet?) for an expansive color landscape.

“This collection will take women around the world on the ultimate tour across the USA, with stops in Baltimore, Clarksdale, Hollywood, Jackson Hole, Memphis, Milwaukee, New Orleans, New York City, Philadelphia, Seattle, St. Louis, and Tucson,” explains Suzi. “Together, the locales that inspired Touring America make up a rich palette of color complementing trends from the runway, where we saw a mix of feminine details and dramatic menswear touches.”

Touring America includes the following shades:

Are We There Yet? Don’t make me reach back there and take that perfect melon shade!

I Eat Mainely Lobster We “clawed” through crowds to catch this coral for you.

My Address is "Hollywood" We put this pretty rose-pink on the map.

Color to Diner For I’ll take the rosy-red with a side of “awesome.”

Honk if You Love OPI Don’t let this gorgeous dark grape pass you by.

Road House Blues In this case…R&B stands for “Really Blue.”

Suzi Takes the Wheel Buckle up—she’s not stopping until she gets to gray!

French Quarter for Your Thoughts Want beads? Then show us your sexy gray nails!

Uh-oh Roll Down the Window You’re gonna wanna pull over for this “unexpected” olive green.

A-taupe the Space Needle You’ll climb to new heights with this creamy-rich taupe.

Get in the Expresso Lane An amped-up dark brown that’ll never letcha down!

I Brake for Manicures This gorgeous eggplant-plum has our full attention."

So what do you think? Are you crazy pumped like I am? Should I wait and just ask you this question in 5 months when fall is closer?

White and Purple White and Purple White and Purple

Forget black and yellow... I bring you WHITE AND PURPLE!!! I love this color combo, not just on nails, but in my life. The white really makes the purple pop. This is two coats of OPI Alpine Snow (my favorite white polish) with one coat of China Glaze Fault Line. I applied Fault Line in my beloved Blobbing fashion.

I read a few reviews of Fault Line where bloggers thought it was difficult to work with and problematic. I did not have any trouble with it, and I think it crackled just the same as the other Crackles I have reviewed. I think it's the magical blobbing technique, really. It just makes Crackles look awesome. Some bloggers suggested that maybe the shimmer in Fault Line made it hard to work with, but for me, that was the best part. I LOVE the shimmer in this. It's hard to see in the pictures, but very cool-looking on the nail.

I love how all of my nails come out differently and it seems like I always have one favorite nail when I do Crackle polish. Below is my favorite nail from this mani. I just like the pattern it crackled in and those tiny specks of Fault Line in that big white crack. Very cool.

Now, I promise that I do have some non-Crackle polishes coming up on the blog. I will really try to peel myself away from Crackle long enough to review them. Also, I have a REALLY great spring polish giveaway starting on Saturday!!!

China Glaze Fault Line was sent to me for review. For more information, please see my Disclosure Policy.

OPI Shatter Mania!!!!

Again, I know this has been posted everywhere, but I would still like to know what you think about all of these upcoming OPI Shatter color!!

First we have the new Serena Williams Grand Slam Collection. In this collection, "the first Lacquer set includes Spark de Triomphe (a monumentally marvelous silver glitter), paired with White Shatter.

The second Lacquer set features Rally Pretty Pink (rise to the occasion with this shimmering sunset-pink), paired with Red Shatter".

I like how OPI is releasing colors to go with their shatter polish. I mean, obviously you can put it over anything, but it's kind of neat to have a polish designed to be paired with shatter. I like the sound of silver glitter with white shatter. Regardless of what Shatters I get, I am definitely picking up Spark de Triomphe! I think I'll get the Red Shatter too, imagine the Christmas looks you could do!

OPI is also releasing
Blue Shatter,

Navy Shatter,
Turquoise Shatter.

I thought the Press Release actually contained an interesting quote from Suzi. She said "Unlike traditional nail art which can be complicated and difficult to replicate, Shatter is easy to use and allows everyone to experiment with this new trend.” I think this is really true and probably why I LOVE this trend so much. I suck at nail art, you all have seen the Fails. But Shatter/Crackle adds an artistic flair to any polish with little effort. I am all for more Shatter colors!

But, what do you think?? Too much Shatter? Are you interested in Rally Pretty Pink and Spark de Triomph?

Your Thoughts on the New China Glaze Island Escape Collection?

I know you've already seen this info on 6,778 blogs, but I wanted to post anyway and get your thoughts on the upcoming collections. The China Glaze Island Escape collection includes:

· Papaya Punch: Crème based vivid orange.

· 108 Degrees: Flirtatious berry pink with specks of micro glitter.

· Senorita Bonita: Passionate purple shimmer with pink micro glitter.

· Blue Iguana: Bold and daring sparkly blue.

· Cha Cha Cha: Vivacious shimmer green.

· Electric Pineapple: High intensity crème based lime green.

First thought- LOL at posting summer collection info, as it's currently snowing.
Second- what is a "high intensity creme"? Interesting. I like the name Blue Iguana, so I'll probably get that. Overall, I think these are nice and bright, and it's cool that they did some shimmers and glitters that are really bright for a change.

What do you think about this collection? What are your must haves?

Breezi (ZP557) - Soft, dusty, medium cerulean blue with an opaque cream finish. A super chic high-fashion denim look for nails.

The Sunshine and Summertime collections are available now at Faye looks like it will be my favorite of the collection!

Zoya also has the modmattes collection out today. I am definitely looking forward to all three of these. I love mattes for those days when you have no time for basecoat, three coats of lacquer and top coat!

It's funny though, usually Zoya sends their collections out to bloggers and we see swatches before the collection is actually available, but I haven't really seen swatches. I saw some quick ones on a nail wheel, but that's it. I want Faye and the three mattes, just based on pictures.
