FingerPaints Vermillion Dollar Painting

 *Purchased by me*

FingerPaints Vermillion Dollar Painting is another polish that has been languishing in my untrieds tomb drawer. Vermillion Dollar Painting is a lovely tomato red with very teeny golden glass fleck shimmer. I might even call it micro glass fleck. I always forget to wear red polish because I somehow equate it with "boring" or "traditional", but this red orange shimmery treat is definitely not boring. I should wear this more often, it really is flattering on my skin tone. I think it would actually be pretty flattering on a variety of skin tones. The warmth would compliment warmer tones and bring brightness to cooler skin tones.

The formula was a little on the thin side, so you have to be slightly careful that it doesn't go pooling in your cuticles. This is three thin coats, I think two thicker ones would also suffice. It's so juicy looking, isn't it?

*Purchased by me*

At the time I'm writing this, FingerPaints polishes, including Vermillion Dollar Painting, are on sale for $3.99 on Sally Beauty's website. I think they have pretty frequent deals on these and this one is definitely worth picking up, especially for summer!

From the Untrieds Drawer- Smitten Polish You're Turning Violet, Violet

*Purchased by me*

My untrieds drawer is out of control. Polishes seem to go in there and never ever come out. Part of it is because I feel bad posting gorgeous polishes that you can't readily buy anymore. However, given the fact that blog sales and nail polish Facebook groups are pretty widespread these days, I think I'm going to stop worrying about that and just show you the pretties. One such example is Smitten Polish You're Turning Violet, Violet. This is a juicy violet jelly base packed with small purple holo glitter and medium purple holo hex glitter. All this holographic-ness is so rainbow-y in person!

The macro above is a bit blurry to try to show off the holo glitter, but it's honestly about 1/10th of how rainbow-y it is in person. This is three thin coats of You're Turning Violet, Violet. It was pretty easy to apply and fairly opaque in just two coats. I really did the third coat because I had a patch or two that wasn't fully covered. The glitter comes out easily and there is plenty of it!

 *Purchased by me*

This one isn't available at Smitten's Big Cartel store anymore, but I have seen it in blog sales and the like, so you may be able to grab it. If you are a fan of purple and holo glitter, this is a must have! I'm super excited for my newest Smittens to arrive, by the way. I ordered Tornado Skies, Radiant Orchid, Frangipani, and Himalayan Blue Poppy. For restock info, check out Smitten Polish on Facebook.

Untried: Cult Nails Seduction

 *Purchased by me*

So I'm actually kind of doing an OK job now of getting through some of my untrieds. I feel a little bad showing you this one, because I'm not altogether sure it will be available again (more on that later). This purple jelly base with flakies is Cult Nails Seduction. I don't own a lot of Cult Nails polishes, but it seems like I do like to buy their flakie polishes. However, I'm not 100% in love with this one.

This is four coats of Seduction and I'd really like it to be more opaque. I also felt like the flakies were not popping. I thought maybe they'd pop more over a dark color.

Here is two coats of Seduction over Chanel Taboo. Better, but still not the festival of iridescence I was expecting. The formula was easy to apply, no worries there. I just felt a little let down by the sheerness of the jelly base and the fact that the flakies weren't as intense as I was hoping.

*Purchased by me*

Seduction is still on Cult Nails' site, but it says it's currently unavailable. So this may come back in stock eventually, or it might not. I'm not sure you're missing much if it doesn't come back, I think Cult Nails has made better flakies. And now I think I'll give my untrieds a bit of a rest and focus on holiday polishes and nail art!

From the Untrieds Drawer: SpaRitual Conglomerate

*Polish purchased with sponsorship funds from Apothica.com*

I'm trying to clean out my untrieds drawer a little bit right now, it's kind of unruly. SpaRitual Conglomerate has been sitting in the drawer from hell for months now. This polish is a really unique grayed out olive green with gold shimmer and black and gray glitter. I definitely can not think of a dupe or even anything similar to this polish, and that makes me really excited! This polish is really gorgeous and looks richer in person.

This is three coats of Conglomerate, but two thicker ones would probably work. The formula was good, I had no problems with application. The glitter came out easily and I didn't do any placement of it, just brushed it on normally.

*Polish purchased with sponsorship funds from Apothica.com*

SpaRitual Conglomerate is still available on Apothica.com, and that's where I got mine (back when Apothica gave me funds to purchase items from their site).

Untried: China Glaze Strap On Your Moonboots

Base: none
Color: three coats China Glaze Strap On Your Moonboots
Top: none
Application: excellent (out of poor, average, good, excellent)
China Glaze Strap On Your Moonboots was purchased by me. All opinions are my own honest thoughts.

I never thought a holo polish would sit in my untrieds drawer for months, but I guess I thought wrong. China Glaze Strap On Your Moonboots is a pretty blue-gray holo from the Hologlam collection. Strap On Your Moonboots is lovely and decently holo in sunshine. It's not too holo indoors, but that's the case with a lot of holos really. Most of the time, it looks like the first picture in this post.  Quite honestly though, the whole Hologlam collection was a bit of a letdown. It's not that they're bad, they just aren't the buckets of rainbows we all wanted.

I almost never wear base coat with holos, so I can't comment on how this would apply with base coat. It applied really well without one though. No bare patches or any difficulties at all. It was opaque in two coats, but I did a third just for the camera, since my camera likes to make things look sheer.

I only ended up getting two polishes from Hologlam, this and Infra-Red. While I'm not obsessed with them, I don't plan on getting rid of them either. All of the Hologlams are still available at nailsupplies.us.

From the Untrieds Drawer- Lumina Lacquer Discotheque

Base: one coat Nicole by OPI Base Coat Plus
Color: two coats Nicole by OPI Orange Neon, two coats Lumina Lacquer Discotheque, one coat Nicole by OPI Orange Neon (ring finger shown without last coat of neon)
Top: one coat Essie Good to Go
Application: good (out of poor, average, good, excellent)
Lumina Lacquer Discotheque was purchased by me, Nicole by OPI Orange Neon was sent for review. All opinions are my own honest thoughts.

I have no clue why this amazing LE Lumina Lacquer Discotheque was in my untrieds drawer. I am a bad bad polish blogger. Discotheque is full of too many awesome glitters for me to name them all, but some highlights include gold holo stars, red stars, gold holo squares, large pink holo round glitters, and red diamonds. I wanted to sandwich this with Nicole by OPI Orange Neon, since I've been thinking that those neons would make great sandwiches!! I did the sandwich on three nails, but left my ring finger without the last coat of the Orange Neon so you could see how crazy sparkly Discotheque is.

Discotheque is definitely a prime candidate for the dabbing method of application. With so many large shaped glitters in there, regular application is not really possible. I like to load up the brush and dab on some glitter, then spread it around the nail using the brush. As long as you know about the dabbing method, application is pretty good. This is two dabbed coats.

Discotheque is LE and I don't know when/if Lumina Lacquer will restock it. Luckily, she releases awesome LEs pretty frequently, so if you can't get this one, you may find another to fall in love with! Check the Lumina Lacquer Facebook page for news and updates.

From the Untrieds Drawer: Essie Butler Please

Base: one coat CND Stickey
Color: three coats Essie Butler Please
Top: one coat NYC Grand Central Station
Application: average (out of poor, average, good, excellent)
Essie Butler Please was purchased with funds provided to me by my sponsor SkinCareRx.com that I receive in exchange for placing an ad here on Never Enough Nails and reviewing the products I purchase with those funds. All opinions are my own honest thoughts.

Essie Butler Please was all over the blogs when it came out, but I ignored it for quite awhile. I didn't buy it until about a month ago and then it sat in my untrieds for another month!! Finally trying it today was one of those moments where you say "why did I wait this long???"! Butler Please is a crazy bright vibrant blue. The nearly neon quality of this polish definitely sets it apart from the tons of other blue cremes I own. Before trying this, I was thinking it would be close to Essie Mesmerize (even though I have seen comparison pics), but Butler Please is lighter and a thousand times more vibrant. By now I think we all know that Butler Please is a near dupe of Nails Inc. Baker St., but I don't own that one, so that's OK with me.

While the color is stunning, the application here was less than stellar. The neon pigment in Butler Please makes this polish a bit hard to work with. It was kind of thick and the first two coats went on unevenly. The third coat and a nice coat of top coat worked to smooth everything out though. The neon pigment also means that this dries to a kind of satin finish, so most of you will definitely want to add a top coat. For a color this pretty, I'm willing to work with the formula, but the less patient among you may want to find an easier alternative.

Essie Butler Please is available on Apothica.com and in a drugstore near you.
