Dreamland Lacquer I Made a Promise

 *Purchased by me*

Today I have my first Dreamland Lacquer purchase for you (although I am still calling it Smitten Polish in my mind! Old habits and all that...). This beauty is Dreamland Lacquer I Made a Promise, from the new Valentine's Day trio. I Made a Promise was "inspired by the One Ring, and the promise of Samwise Gamgee to never leave his friend Frodo Baggins", according to the description. I LOVE this concept for a Valentine's Day polish!! Valentine's Day is about love, and what better example than the love between true friends? I Made a Promise is a stunning gold with linear holo pigment and gold holo microglitter. When you apply it, it looks like liquid gold flowing onto your nails, just drool-worthy! It's a softer gold, not too brash or yellow, more like an old gold. Like a very powerful and alluring golden ring!

This is two coats of I Made a Promise. It was very easy to apply, great formula! I used one layer of Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Top Coat and it was smooth and shiny.

Dreamland Lacquer looks to be off to a great start! I Made a Promise is available now at http://www.dreamlandlacquer.com.

Recent Smitten Polish Purchases and Smitten News!

*Purchased by me*

I have a quick post for you today with 3 polishes I purchased recently from Smitten Polish. I wanted to post them today because this is the last day that Smitten Polish will officially exist! No, no, don't panic! Smitten isn't closing- just renaming! Starting tomorrow, Smitten will be known as Dreamland Lacquer. Nothing else will be changing, Noelie will still be making spectacular polish, kicking it off with a new Valentine's Day trio tomorrow. I am excited for the new trio and the new name too! But for now, let's take a look at Smitten One Heart, a pink linear holo that leans purple or even mauve, depending on the light. I found this to look more cotton candy pink outside in bright light, and more purple indoors. One Heart is a Hella Holo Customs polish, so you must be a member to purchase this. The order for it is over, but I have seen several people selling it in the group, so definitely join if you haven't already!

This is two effortless coats of One Heart!

Now, you know I hate to show you polishes you can't have, but these are just too beautiful. In the last Smitten restock, Noelie offered grab bags of three prototypes for $15. I snatched one up as fast as I could and have two to show you today. This bright jewel pink linear holo treat is Proto #71. This is three thin coats.

This drool-worthy vampy linear holo is Proto #51. This one alone is worth the $15! It is a deep brown with hints of burgundy and wine, and sometimes a little flash of gold. The holo flame is super strong as you can see! It almost looks like holo hot chocolate!

Two luscious coats!! I hope maybe Noelie will have some prototype grab bags again in the future! I would definitely buy one again.

So tomorrow, Dreamland Lacquer will kick things off with a Valentine's trio at 2pm CST at the new store http://www.dreamlandlacquer.com!!

Smitten Polish Radiant Orchid

 *Purchased by me*

I have a large collection of indies that are a year old or more that I haven't gotten around to swatching. I am determined to start getting through some of them because they are really pretty!! Some may not be available from the maker anymore, but there are always blog sales and such.  Smitten Polish Radiant Orchid is one such beauty. This is a gorgeous purple-y pink linear holo, in honor of the 2014 color of the year, Radiant Orchid. The linear holo flame is very strong in this polish. This is a tad darker and more purple in person, I think the rainbows confused my camera a bit!

This is two coats of Radiant Orchid and the opacity is perfect. The formula is great and super easy to apply.

Smitten Polish Radiant Orchid is still available at smittenpolish.bigcartel.com!

Two More Gorgeous Fall Holos from Smitten Polish!

 *Purchased by me*

The Smitten Polish fall collection is really spectacular. If you haven't checked it out yet, you really should. I tried Seasonal Lattes first and it was gorgeous, and now today I have two more stunning fall Smittens for you! Smitten Polish Antiquing is a really unique tarnished silver linear holo. In some lights, it looks like a lighter silver and in others, more of a deepened pewter. Sometimes it even has some warm taupe tones. Antiquing is a complex color and other silver holos I own look kind of basic in comparison.

This is three thin coats of Antiquing, but it was pretty pigmented. You could do two thicker coats. Like every other Smitten holo I have tried, the application is a dream. Perfect consistency, easy to apply!

Smitten Polish Udora's Harvest is a pretty rose linear holo. It is described as a rose gold linear holo, and it definitely has some of the golden tones mixed with the pinky rose. Udora's Harvest is really pretty and flattering. It looks glowy and soft in indoor lighting.

This is three thin coats and same perfect application as Antiquing. I don't use base or top coat with holos, so these swatches are shown without both.

*Purchased by me*

Smitten Polish Antiquing and Udora's Harvest are both available at smittenpolish.bigcartel.com. Noelie also has an amazing holiday collection that will be restocked in a few weeks. I missed the pre-order, but I can't wait to order a few when they are in stock!

Smitten Polish Seasonal Lattes

*Purchased by me*

As soon as fall officially started, I was allll about the pumpkin coffee. I haven't had a Starbucks PSL yet this fall, but I have sampled Dunkin Donuts Pumpkin Creme Brulee latte and Doughnut Inn Pumpkin Spice coffee. I am a huge coffee drinker and do love when pumpkin coffee drinks start showing up in the fall, so naturally, I love the name of this gorgeous polish- Smitten Polish Seasonal Lattes. Seasonal Lattes is a warm coffee brown linear holo. It is more of a reddish brown, although in low lights, it looks more like a very dark chocolate brown. The holo effect is CRAZY with this polish. My camera was having a heart attack trying to process all the rainbows!

This is three coats of Smitten Polish Seasonal Lattes. Two was opaque in person, I really did the third just for my camera. When I wear it as a full mani, I'll stick with two coats. I have had nothing but great experiences with Smitten holos, and Seasonal Lattes is no different. Application is smooth and easy, no patchiness or dragging like you get with some holos. These swatches are with no base or top coat.

*Purchased by me*

I know Noelie is waiting to receive some more bottles before she restocks the gorgeous fall collection, but check the Smitten Polish Facebook page for restock info. Seasonal Lattes is available at the Smitten Big Cartel store.

Smitten Polish Tornado Skies

*Purchased by me*

Happy Saturday! I hope you all have some good weekend plans. I'm just popping in with a quick unplanned post today. I found out that there is a Smitten Polish restock going on today at Smitten Polish's Big Cartel Store. I also found out that the lovely Smitten Polish Tornado Skies is going to be discontinued after this batch to make room for new things. I think Tornado Skies is really unique and awesome, so I wanted to post it before it leaves forever. Tornado Skies is a medium gray with tons of green shimmer, just like that menacing sky right before a huge storm, like a tornado or a hurricane. Indoors in low light, the green shimmer is less visible, but in the right lighting, it is crazy strong! My pictures do not show the gorgeous green shimmer to it's full extent. I wasn't really planning on doing this post until I heard about the restock, so these were taken fairly quickly. Also, please ignore the amount of shrinkage on my ring finger, it is clearly time to thin my top coat.

I highly recommend checking out Tornado Skies, it is way cooler in person. It's one of those distracting polishes that you stare at when you're wearing it. The Smitten restock will take place today at 2pm Central time at the Big Cartel store.

Smitten Polish Himalayan Blue Poppy

 *Purchased by me*

This gorgeous swimming pool blue creamy holo is Smitten Polish Himalayan Blue Poppy. Himalayan Blue Poppy is actually from Smitten's spring collection, but I am just getting around to wearing it now. I wore this the other day when I went kayaking at the beach- what a good choice for a beach day! The turquoise-blue holo was just enchanting in the sun, I couldn't stop staring at my own nails. This is a creamy holo, so it's not as rainbow-y as a regular holo, but you can definitely see some lovely rainbows in the sun.

This is three thin coats of Himalayan Blue Poppy, no top coat. As with every other Smitten holo I've tried, this polish applied so easily. I'm not sure what Noelie's secret is, but I never experience any patchiness or balding with her holos, unlike many other brands.

Himalayan Blue Poppy is currently available at Smitten's Big Cartel store. There is also a summer Smitten collection out right now. I really want to order Safety Dance (a bright orange holo!) and Nuclear Sunshine (an awesome lime-y yellow holo), but I'm trying to wear all of the spring Smittens first!

Smitten Polish Frangipani

I hardly ever wear pink polish. I may find one or two when I'm swatching collections that I love, but then they somehow never make it on to my nails for a full mani. However, I had a total pink moment last week. I was wearing OPI Kiss Me, I'm Brazilian on my toes and I got my new Smitten polishes in the mail. I bypassed the awesome gray with green shimmer Tornado Skies, the beautiful blue holo Himalayan Blue Poppies and the stunning Radiant Orchid and slapped Smitten Polish Frangipani on my nails immediately! I'm glad I did, it is so much more than just "pink". Frangipani is a soft almost lavender-tinged pink creamy holo. Creamier holos are less blindingly rainbow than a full on linear holo, but they are still so gorgeous. I don't own a ton of creamy holos, but this polish makes me want many more.

The formula of Frangipani was nice to apply. I used just two coats for these pictures and I had no complaints at all. I have found Smittens to be excellent in general though. As a note, I did not use base coat or top coat for these swatches. When I wear lighter colored (i.e. unlikely to stain) holos, I don't wear base coat because I think they apply better without it. And I usually don't top coat holos- don't want to dull them! The picture below is in full sun, so you can see Frangipani in all of it's creamy rainbow glory!

Smitten Polish Frangipani is available on Smitten Polish's Big Cartel store. For more info, check out Smitten Polish on Facebook.

From the Untrieds Drawer- Smitten Polish You're Turning Violet, Violet

*Purchased by me*

My untrieds drawer is out of control. Polishes seem to go in there and never ever come out. Part of it is because I feel bad posting gorgeous polishes that you can't readily buy anymore. However, given the fact that blog sales and nail polish Facebook groups are pretty widespread these days, I think I'm going to stop worrying about that and just show you the pretties. One such example is Smitten Polish You're Turning Violet, Violet. This is a juicy violet jelly base packed with small purple holo glitter and medium purple holo hex glitter. All this holographic-ness is so rainbow-y in person!

The macro above is a bit blurry to try to show off the holo glitter, but it's honestly about 1/10th of how rainbow-y it is in person. This is three thin coats of You're Turning Violet, Violet. It was pretty easy to apply and fairly opaque in just two coats. I really did the third coat because I had a patch or two that wasn't fully covered. The glitter comes out easily and there is plenty of it!

 *Purchased by me*

This one isn't available at Smitten's Big Cartel store anymore, but I have seen it in blog sales and the like, so you may be able to grab it. If you are a fan of purple and holo glitter, this is a must have! I'm super excited for my newest Smittens to arrive, by the way. I ordered Tornado Skies, Radiant Orchid, Frangipani, and Himalayan Blue Poppy. For restock info, check out Smitten Polish on Facebook.

Smitten Week- Smitten Polish Not Your Mama's Easter Grass

 *Purchased by me*

How's this for an Easter mani? Finishing off Smitten Week with a bang is Smitten Polish Not Your Mama's Easter Grass, neon acid green glitter in a bright neon green jelly base. I could not wait to get my grubby little paws on this polish from the second I saw swatches of it. Green is probably my favorite polish color to wear and I love all things holographic and glitter. Not Your Mama's Easter Grass is a really bright acid yellow-y green and the holo glitter seriously sparkles in the sun. I don't think my camera could deal with it because what you see here is only a small representation of how sparkly this was.

This is three coats. Coverage was pretty good, I found that I did need the third coat to hide any VNL. This was super easy to control while applying, and I did not do any clean-up in this pictures. It was very easy to get a nice rounded shape by the cuticles. These swatches all have one coat of OPI Top Coat and my nails felt pretty smooth. If you are obsessed with glossy smoothness, you may want to use a thicker top coat with this, but it's not really rough or textured.

*Purchased by me*

Keep checking Smitten Polish's Facebook for restock updates. Noelie is really good about restocking everything until everyone gets what they want. I really love that about Smitten, I don't have to panic if I miss a restock. Happy Easter to all celebrating today!

Smitten Week- Smitten What Sorcery Is This?

 *Purchased by me*

Smitten Polish What Sorcery Is This? is not from the spring collection, but purple is a year round favorite color of mine, so I thought I'd include it in my Smitten Week. What Sorcery Is This? is a bright purple linear holo. The rainbows make it hard to tell if this is a blue or red leaning purple, but I think it's a bit blue-leaning. The only other purple holo I own is quite dark, so I was happy to add this to my collection.

This is two coats and same great formula as all of the other Smitten holos I've tried. In general, they are very easy to apply, have good pigmentation, and have no troubles with patchiness. These swatches are with no base or top coat.

*Purchased by me*

I am not sure when What Sorcery Is This? will be restocked on the Big Cartel store, but check the Smitten Polish Facebook page for updates.

Smitten Week- Smitten Polish Ker-Bloom

 *Purchased by me*

I'm happy to see that Connecticut seems to have come out of the winter darkness finally and we've been having some sun. This means I can continue to swatch my amazing new Smitten Polish holos for Smitten week! There are a few key words in polish descriptions that equal an automatic purchase from me, in this case it was "periwinkle/cornflower linear holo". Yes, Smitten Polish Ker-Bloom is a deep periwinkle holo treasure and I am in love! I do not have anything like this in my collection, it's absolutely stunning in the sun. Look at the rainbows!

This is just two coats of Ker-bloom. I see a bit of VNL in these pictures, but I didn't see it in person. The formula is par for the course for Smitten holos- easy to apply with no complaints at all. Again, I don't wear base or top coat with holos typically.

*Purchased by me*

You'll be able to nab Ker-bloom late this week on Smitten's Big Cartel store. For updates about restocks, like Smitten Polish on Facebook. I'll be ordering the Spring Part 2 colors- Himalayan Blue Poppy, Radiant Orchid, Frangipani (um, a holo polish named Frangipani? Another automatic buy) and Tornado Skies.

Smitten Week- Smitten Polish Audrey's Rainbow

 *Purchased by me*

I am declaring this Smitten Polish week here on Never Enough Nails! I in the midst of a serious obsession with this brand right now and Noelie keeps cranking out amazing polishes that I must have. Over the next week, I'll be showing you some of her latest drool-inducing spring polishes. She said on Facebook that she will be doing a restock of the spring polishes, some older colors, and some new spring polishes later this week, so I thought this would help you prepare! Today's post is Smitten Polish Audrey's Rainbow, a pastel "Tiffany" turquoise blue linear holo. The rainbow effect in this one is a little lighter than other Smitten holos, but it fits the soft color. It's just gorgeous in sunlight!

This is three thin coats of Audrey's Rainbow. Two coats was nearly opaque, so if you do thicker coats, two will suffice. Smitten holos are very easy to apply and I have never experience patchiness or balding with them. I don't wear base or top coats with my holos (unless they look like serious stainers).

*Purchased by me*

Smitten Polish Audrey's Rainbow should be restocked with other colors late this week on Smitten's Big Cartel store. For updates about restocks, like Smitten Polish on Facebook. While you're on the Facebook page, check out pictures of the upcoming "Tornado Skies"... OMG need it now!!

Smitten Polish Shamrock Shake a.k.a. Love of My Life

 *purchased by me*

I missed out on Smitten Polish Shamrock Shake during it's first release (for St. Patrick's Day) and I was DETERMINED to get it the next time it was in stock. I mean, minty green holo goodness named Shamrock Shake??? Yes PLEASE! Well, I camped out for that restock and got my Shamrock Shake and I couldn't be happier. I am fast becoming a rabid Smitten Polish fanatic, her holos are so gorgeous! Shamrock Shake is a lovely blue-toned mint green linear holo.

This is three coats of Shamrock Shake. It was pretty much opaque in two coats, but I did a third because I do thin coats. If you haven't tried Smitten's holos, I have found every single one that I have tried to be well pigmented and so easy to apply. That is not always the case for holos, but these are not patchy or draggy and go on so smoothly. These swatches are with no top coat.

The other great thing about Smitten Polish is that Noelie believes in offering her polishes until the interest in them dies down, so you don't have to worry about missing out on a super LE polish. If you haven't tried this brand yet, what are you waiting for??? Magical holos and gorgeous glitters await you at Smitten Polish's Big Cartel store! For restock info, check out Smitten on Facebook.
