Untried: Cult Nails Seduction

 *Purchased by me*

So I'm actually kind of doing an OK job now of getting through some of my untrieds. I feel a little bad showing you this one, because I'm not altogether sure it will be available again (more on that later). This purple jelly base with flakies is Cult Nails Seduction. I don't own a lot of Cult Nails polishes, but it seems like I do like to buy their flakie polishes. However, I'm not 100% in love with this one.

This is four coats of Seduction and I'd really like it to be more opaque. I also felt like the flakies were not popping. I thought maybe they'd pop more over a dark color.

Here is two coats of Seduction over Chanel Taboo. Better, but still not the festival of iridescence I was expecting. The formula was easy to apply, no worries there. I just felt a little let down by the sheerness of the jelly base and the fact that the flakies weren't as intense as I was hoping.

*Purchased by me*

Seduction is still on Cult Nails' site, but it says it's currently unavailable. So this may come back in stock eventually, or it might not. I'm not sure you're missing much if it doesn't come back, I think Cult Nails has made better flakies. And now I think I'll give my untrieds a bit of a rest and focus on holiday polishes and nail art!

First Post of 2012- Cult Nails Clairvoyant over OPI Grape... Set... Match!

I wanted to do something special for my first post of 2012. This combination definitely qualifies. Unfortunately, my pictures do not qualify as special, as the sky was so overcast and gross when I took these pictures on New Year's Eve day. I absolutely suggest you try this combination so you can see how amazing it really looks.

I started out with two coats of OPI Grape... Set... Match. The OPI and Serena Williams duos were some of my favorite polishes of 2011 and Grape... Set... Match is so gorgeous on it's own. However, I really wanted to try out Cult Nails Clairvoyant too! I wanted to really pack the flakies on, so I did three coats of Cult Nails Clairvoyant.

I haven't mattified anything in awhile, and this felt right, so I added one coat of KnockOut Cosmetics Flatte Top. I personally LOVE matte flakies. They never get old!!

Since 2012 is shaping up to be The Year Of The Flakies, I thought this was an appropriate start to the year. Cult Nails Clairvoyant is a really awesome flakie polish, I love that it has all different color flakes in it. I actually picked it up from my girl Styrch's blogsale, but it is still available on Cult Nails. My local Ulta also still had the Serena Williams duo with Servin' Up Sparkle and Grape... Set... Match just about a week ago.

What are your nail polish hopes and dreams for 2012? Mine are the same as last year. More duochromes and holos.

OPI Grape... Set... Match was sent to me for review by a PR agent for OPI. For more information, please read my Disclosure Policy.

Stuff I Found On My Desk, Vol. 1

How's this for a new series of posts? "Stuff I Found On My Desk", a series in which I take several polishes that happen to be sitting on my desk and layer them to my heart's content. When looking around for something interesting to post today, I noticed the giant pile of crap sitting on my desk. I randomly picked three polishes from the bunch and decided to layer them! In a strange twist of events, this coincided with Pink Wednesday!!

On first glance, these polishes don't seem to go together. I think that's the fun part about this series- taking several random polishes that might look hideous together and finding out that they look awesome! Volume 1 of Stuff I Found On My Desk consists of: Lynnderella The Telltale Heart, Zoya Meadow, and Cult Nails Captivated.

Zoya Meadow is a very pretty mauve-y pink with lots of gold shimmer. I used one coat of Meadow for my base color. It's pretty opaque at one coat, so I didn't really need a second, especially since I would be layering two more polishes on top!

Next I layered on two coats of Lynnderella The Telltale Heart.

Finally, I finished up strong with one coat of Cult Nails Captivated and a glossy top coat.

What do you think?? I LOVE it!! Not bad for three random polishes that I grabbed off my desk! I am definitely going to continue posting "Stuff I Found On My Desk"!

One for Me, One for You- Cult Nails Captivated!

If you haven't heard of Cult Nails by now, I'd say you're really missing out. Cult Nails was started by fellow polish blogger Maria of R3 Daily. I think this is amazing for a few reasons. 1. I LOVE to see people following their dreams. 2. I also LOVE to see bloggers become bigger than their blog (i.e. start their own brand, collaborate with a huge, existing brand, etc.). 3. She has incredible ideas for polish!! Let's talk about Captivated, from her recent Day At The Races collection.

Captivated is a coral-pink jelly polish PACKED with gorgeous rainbow-y glitter. This polish is incredibly unique and I absolutely do not own a single thing like it. There are at least two sizes of glitter in this polish, a very fine holo glitter and the larger iridescent pieces that flash golden colors in certain lights. Captivated is super sparkly both indoors and out. It is quite the distracting polish!! Don't wear it if you need to concentrate LOL.

Being that Captivated is a jelly, there is supposed to be some VNL. But it is that lovely translucent squishy quality of a jelly that make the VNL acceptable, even enjoyable. This is three coats of glittery goodness. The polish is a bit on the thick side, but that actually made it easier to apply. You could precisely control where the polish was going/not going. Application was supper easy. I have been wearing this since Tuesday and it looks perfect, but I will report back in a few days on the wear time. I hear Cult Nails has excellent wear time.

I am basically obsessing over this polish. I'd love a cobalt blue jelly version of this. Cobalt blue jelly with the same kind of glitter? That would be magic!!! What do you think Maria??

Wanna hear the best part of this post?? When I ordered my bottle of Captivated, I ordered one for one lucky Never Enough Nails reader!!!! Here it is, waiting for you to win it!
