Sally Hansen Color Whirl in Marble-ous

*Sent for review*
I have the new Sally Hansen Color Whirl in the shade "Marble-ous" for you today. Marble-ous is one of two Color Whirl polishes that are to be used on top of any of the regular Sally Hansen Miracle Gel polishes to create a spotted, marbled effect. Here's what Sally Hansen says about the Color Whirl polishes-
"Miracle Gel Color Whirl is a polish “overcoat” that creates a marble effect over any Sally Hansen Miracle Gel polish, so you’ll still get the great chip resistant gel-like wear you expect, but now with an eye-catching design! Miracle Gel Color Whirl is available in two color-transforming shades, Steam Punk and Marble-ous, that work with the Miracle Gel 2-step system giving you a new salon-inspired look in just one swipe, right in the comfort of your own home!"

I tried Sally Hansen Marble-ous over two different Miracle Gel shades. The first is a classic black creme, Sally Hansen Blacky-O. I think this is such a perfect spooky Halloween mani! It looks aged and kind of decrepit, like a haunted house. I'm not sure if this would be an every day kind of mani for me, but it's definitely something I will rock at this time of year when ghouls and goblins abound!

I also tried Marble-ous over Sally Hansen Miracle Gel in Good Cheer-y, a shimmering cherry red. This also makes a really interesting Halloween nail look, kind of gory looking, right?

The key to getting some good marbling with this polish is to use a really really thin coat. You must wipe the brush off on both sides and try to cover the whole nail in just one or two swipes. If you go back over any part a second time, it sort of closes up the spots and smooshes them together. I finished both of these looks with one layer of Sally Hansen Miracle Gel top coat. Sally Hansen made a video tutorial for using the Color Whirl shades that I found to be helpful. You can check that out here.

After trying Marble-ous, I am planning on picking up the black Color Whirl shade, Steam Punk. I think it would look so cool over orange for Halloween! If you're looking for something fun and different to add to your collection, definitely check out these new Color Whirl toppers.

Sally Hansen Color Whirl and Miracle Gel polishes are available at a CVS, Walgreens, or Ulta store near you!

Happy Halloween with Sally Hansen and Rimmel!!

*Some products sent for review*

Happy Halloween!!!!! Hope everyone had a fun Halloweekend and maybe got a chance to dress up, because that's the best part of Halloween! Sally Hansen and Rimmel London sent me some products (both new and old) recently that are just perfect for Halloween. I used some in my Halloween mani (above) and others over the weekend for a costume party. Let's start with my NOTD- a graveyard scene with a twinkling gradient night sky. For the tombstones, I used my favorite tombstone vinyls from What's Up Nails and Sally Hansen Hooked on Onyx. It was important to me to have a really pigmented jet black polish for these, as you really can't do a second coat with vinyls, and Hooked on Onyx worked perfectly here.

For the night sky gradient, I used one coat of OPI Angel with a Lead Foot, then sponged on OPI I Saw... U Saw... We Saw... Warsaw and OPI Reach for the Sky. I topped it off with one layer of China Glaze Fairy Dust before adding the tombstones. Love love love the finished product and super happy that I had some time to do this for Halloween!

Over the weekend I wore this easy mani. This is two coats of Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Blacky O, with freehand designs using the new Sally Hansen I 💛 Nail Art Pen in Orange. This pen is probably the best nail art pen I have ever used. Usually I find them to be kind of a pain, either the polish doesn't come out enough or it floods your nail and ruins any design you might be going for. This one is just right, enough polish comes out to write or draw, but not so much that you can't control where it's going. I did this in a huge rush and it still came out half way decent for me and freehand designs haha.

My pinky nail is supposed to be googly eyes but I didn't really have enough room. Don't judge.

Rimmel London also has two great new products that are perfect for Halloween makeup. Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lip Color in Pitch Black is a super black matte liquid lipstick (top pumpkin swatch in the picture above). It is a very saturated black color. I am not the world's best applier of matte liquid lipstick, but it was pretty easy to work with and didn't dry down so quickly that it became patchy. I just had trouble smoothing out the edges and couldn't figure out what to use as a liner! My new favorite Rimmel product is the Scandaleyes Bold eye liner (bottom pumpkin and line swatch in above picture). It has a very cool innovative round tip that I found to really help me apply the liner evenly. I wore this liner over the weekend and it lasted perfectly, no flaking or smudging at all. It's very very black too, which I prefer!

If you are in need of any last minute Halloween supplies, these great Sally Hansen and Rimmel London products are all available at a drugstore near you!

Lynnderella New O.G. Collection!

*Sent for review*

Lynnderella recently released a new collection called the "New O.G.", O.G. standing for Original Glitter. I have swatches of some of the polishes for you today, starting with the beautiful Lynnderella Eye Candy. Eye Candy is a holographic blue nano glitter with turquoise hints and red microglitter accents. It looks more turquoise in certain lighting and leans more of a true blue in others.

This is two coats of Eye Candy. I found it to be nicely opaque and apply well. I used one layer of top coat and it was very smooth, thanks to the nano glitter.

Lynnderella Fleshed Out is described as "nearly naked translucent shimmerella with pink and shifting blue shimmer as well as subtle silver holographic nanoglitter accents". If you're looking to jazz up your nude polish library, definitely check this out. It's understated, but still packs a holo shimmer punch.

This is only two coats, though if you have longer nails than I did at this time, you will likely need three coats. It was easy to apply and a nice consistency. I used one layer of top coat and it is smooth to the touch.

The namesake of the collection, Lynnderella New O.G., is, of course, an homage to the famous Connect the Dots. This new glitter topper is even better than the original, as it has stronger shimmer in the base and even more fun shapes. Lynnderella describes this as "black-and-white multiglitter with blue shimmer and silver holographic nanoglitter in a clear base. Dots, stars, hexagons, rectangles, hearts, triangles, clouds, flowers, squares, diamonds and more". This is always a great look!

This is one coat of New O.G. over OPI Reach for the Sky. I really like this pairing! New O.G. was easy to apply, no need for glitter placement, and all of the glitter pieces seemed to lay flat.

I've already shown you Lynnderella You Name It! This was the preview polish for this collection and it is a "multishimmered multiglitter topper with holographic nanoglitter accents. Lilac-shimmered clear base with holographic microglitter". You can name this polish and request a special hand drawn label!

This is one coat of You Name It! over OPI Polly Want a Lacquer!

There are two more polishes in this collection, Red Ahead and Vamper Tantrum. They look lovely as well! For swatches of those, check out Lynnderella's blog. New O.G. is available now at https://www.amazon.com/handmade/Lynnderella, lynnderella.com and http://lynnderella.storenvy.com. Lynnderella Friday, Vol. 78!

*Sent for review*

OK time to get this blog back on track, yikes! What a busy couple of months I have had, it's been crazy. It's time for a good Lynnderella Friday around here and today is a great day for it because Lynnderella was actually on the nails of Hailee Steinfeld as she performed on The Today Show this morning!! She wore a Lynnderella called Diamond in Training and you can check out a clip of her performing/get a glimpse of the polish here- http://www.today.com/popculture/see-love-myself-singer-hailee-steinfeld-rock-out-today-plaza-t113853. I think that is a pretty cool accomplishment for Lynnderella!!

Lynnderella Snazzy is a seriously STUNNING polish. Lynnderella describes it as a "charcoal black holographic microglitter with a red metallic glow". The red metallic glow is so strong and contrasts beautifully with the charcoal glitter. The effect in the sunlight is like fire, the holo rainbow and the metallic glow are so strong! Indoors you can see the charcoal gray/black color more, but the red flash is definitely still there and very visible. Overall such a unique polish!

This is two coats of Snazzy. It was gloriously easy to apply and very pigmented. I did use two layers of top coat because I thought it would really bring out the metallic glow.

Lynnderella Picnic is a holo watermelon pink microglitter. It's a nice juicy pink and has a light rainbow flare of holo glitter. Great summer pink for glitter lovers!

This is two coats of Picnic. It was a little thicker than Lynnderellas typically are and I found the first coat to be a little lumpy. The second coat smoothed everything out and was better, but it wasn't as flawless a formula as I have grown accustomed to with Lynns as of late. I used two layers of top coat here as well.

Lynnderella Tra LaLaLa is a "blue-violet shimmered charcoal black holographic microglitter with neon and iridescent flake accents". The charcoal glitter in this looks totally different than in Snazzy, it really has more of a purple-y feel. I love the fun colored accent glitters and flakes, they really pop out nicely. The charcoal glitter is nicely holographic and the whole polish has a rainbow look to it in sunlight.

This is two coats of Tra LaLaLa and one layer of top coat. It was easy to apply and had nice coverage. Every time I read the name of this polish, I sing it to the tune of "Swalla" by Jason Derulo and Nicki Minaj LOL... can't help it.

These three lovely Lynnderellas are available now at http://stores.ebay.com/lynnderella-lynnderella. Lynnderellas are also available on Amazon and StorEnvy.

Vapid Weaponized Guilt

*Purchased by me*

Just popping in today to share my NOTD from last week- Vapid Lacquer Weaponized Guilt. Weaponized Guilt is a unique blackened green/bronze shimmer. Vapid describes it as "Blackened, burnished gold with green leanings".  It looks different depending on the lighting situation, sometimes it looks more green and other times much more like an antique gold. It ended up being a murkier, darker color on me most of the time. I bet the shimmer would really pop in the sunlight, but I just happened to wear this on a couple of cloudy rainy days.

This is two coats of Weaponized Guilt. It was nicely opaque, almost a one-coater, but I did two to bring out the shimmer. I felt like the formula was a tad thicker than some other Vapids I have tried and it made it a little harder to get the perfect application near the cuticle. But that's why we have Acetone and clean-up brushes, right?

Weaponized Guilt is still available on the Vapid site, http://vapid.mybigcommerce.com. The shop is going to close for a holiday break tonight though, so get any last minute orders in ASAP!!! They will reopen in January though, in case you can't order today!

Vapid Lacquer Batnado!

*Purchased by me*

Happy Saturday! I hope you have some fun plans for the weekend. I have to work a bit today, but then I am going to a Halloween party! Today's Halloween nails are brought to you by Vapid Lacquer. This polish was part of a set that included two polishes plus magnets from The Holo Pineapple made with Vapid polishes. Vapid Lacquer Batnado has holo silver bats, black bats, plus smaller blue and silver holo glitters of various shapes and sizes in a clear base. I love bats, I think they are amazing creatures and actually very cute, plus the name Batnado is fantastic!!

This is one dabbed coat of Batnado over one coat of Sally Hansen Black to Black. I did not use any of the black bats in Batnado (since they wouldn't show up over my base), so I did have to fish out the silver bats and apply them. Overall, this was pretty easy to use and the bats are very plentiful.

Sadly, Batnado is no longer available. The set it came in was only stocked once. If you join the Vapid Lacquer fan group on Facebook (Vapicorns), someone may have it for sale there. The good news though? Vapid is having a restock today for some of their other amazing polishes and a new one called Smoke Screen! Check it out today at 1pm Central time at vapidlacquer.com.

Lynnderella Friday, Vol. 59!

 *purchased by me*

Happy Friday before Halloween!! I have some decorations up, got my pumpkins this week, and have been watching Halloween movies all week. I also have this mani on right now and I'm loving it! This orange shimmer is a Halloween mystery Lynnderella and it is so excellent!! For the last few weeks, there have been Halloween mysteries with adorable hand-drawn labels available in the Glitter Fairies (Lynnderella Facebook group). I was dying for an orange one, and I managed to snag this one with the cute spider in his web. The polish is an orange shimmer with some spooky green shimmers. It's gorgeous!

I am also wearing Lynnderella A Witch and Her Wardrobe on my index and pinky nails. This is a new core polish for Halloween and it features bats, witchy slipper pumps, cone hats, flowers and stars in a clear base with blue shimmer and teeny holographic glitters.  I dabbed a little bit of it on top of my pumpkin on my middle nail too. The pumpkin and pumpkin face on the ring nail were made using  Sally Hansen Black to Black with Vibrant Vinyls.

Sorry about the weird lighting in these pictures, I had to take them indoors because it was SNOWING when I took these!!!

A Witch and Her Wardrobe is available now at lynnderella.com now. This orange mystery is not available, but there are a few Halloween mysteries with the cute hand-drawn labels on http://stores.ebay.com/lynnderella-lynnderella.
