Lynnderella Friday, Vol. 11!

*Sent for review*

I have a smaller, but still so sparkly, Lynnderella Friday post for you today! This has been a rough week, just getting back into the swing of things after the summer! Lynnderella Tiger Heart is definitely cheering me up though. Tiger Heart is a very special Lynnderella because it was "created to benefit The Wild Animal Sanctuary in Keenesburg, Colorado. The charity’s mission is to rescue and care for abandoned and abused lions, tigers, bears and other exotic animals that have been confiscated by law enforcement agencies from illegal situations". This is a cause near and dear to me- I am a huge lover of animals, especially big cats. Not only does Tiger Heart support a great cause, but it is also a striking assortment of bright rainbow-colored glitters in all shapes and sizes. The rainbow glitters are paired nicely with black and white accents and silver holo microglitter.

I used a white base for this mani (OPI Non-Stop White) to really show off the range of colors in this polish. This is just one dabbed coat of Tiger Heart, the glitter is plentiful. It was easy to apply and had a great consistency. I'd love to wear Tiger Heart over a bright neon pink next for a totally 80's feel!

 *Purchased by me*

Next up is a polish I've been meaning to get for ages, but I just picked it up in Lynnderella's first ever Warehouse Sale (LOVED this sale!). Lynnderella Nine Drummers Dreaming is a core polish from the Twelve Days of Christmas collection, but it works very well for fall too. Nine Drummers Dreaming has purple, red and green metallic glitters with some gold and white accents in a purple shimmered clear base. It really looks Christmas-y on top of this dark green base, but I am OK with that cause 97 days til Christmas!!!!

This is one dabbed coat of Nine Drummers Dreaming over Barielle Born 2 B Naughty. It had a great formula and applied very easily. I am so happy I finally got this and can't wait to wear it at Christmas time!

Tiger Heart and Nine Drummers Dreaming are available on lynnderella.com. Lynnderellas are also available on lynnderella.storenvy.com.

OPI Pink of Hearts Duo Swatches!

 *Sent for review*

I can't believe it's this time of year already, but October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and OPI has released this cute polish duo for it's eighth annual Pink of Hearts promotion. According to OPI, "this duo pack is designed to raise awareness for the fight against breast cancer. In 2014, OPI will donate $25,000 to Susan G. Komen® in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. OPI will also donate $5,000 to Rethink Breast Cancer in Canada". The duo pack includes the classic OPI Mod About You, a new limited edition pink glitter The Power of Pink, and an adorable pink glittery nail file with breast cancer ribbon charm.

Surprisingly, I did not own OPI Mod About You before now. This is pretty much a cult classic OPI shade and after trying it, I definitely see why. Mod About You is a pale pink creme with a good amount of white in the base. It's a very clean looking pink, stark and eye-catching without being harsh. I'm not a fan of baby pinks that fade into the background, but this one really stands out and looks chic to me. I'm not sure why I didn't get this before now!

Mod About You also happens to be a really easy to apply pale pink, and sometimes that's hard to find. This is two coats and it's perfectly opaque. The formula was streak-free and a breeze to use. Love this!

OPI The Power of Pink is the glittery half of the Pink of Hearts duo. The Power of Pink has white and magenta hex glitter, along with small white and magenta glitters in a sheer milky base. These pictures show one coat of The Power of Pink over two coats of Mod About You. I really love the way these look together!

The Power of Pink was very user-friendly. The glitter went on very easily and I didn't have to do any placement of the glitter pieces. This is just one coat over Mod About You and I was happy with the coverage here. The formula is a nice consistency too, not too thick with base like some glitters can be.

You can also wear The Power of Pink alone in 2-3 coats. It's not really full coverage though, so I personally probably wouldn't wear it this way (I have very uneven whites of my nails, so sheer is not my friend). Here is my thumb nail with two coats of The Power of Pink alone. I do think it looks really cute this way! I didn't top coat my thumb nail and I like how it dried a bit matte looking.

I really like this duo overall. If you don't already own Mod About You, I would really encourage you to try it. It's no wonder it's such a classic, it really is a great looking shade. The glitter is cute and looks fabulous over Mod About You and I will enjoy whipping out the glittery nail file too!

Pink of Hearts 2014 will be available September and October 2014 at Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, beautybrands.com, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, ULTA and ulta.com for $16.95 ($21.50 CAN) suggested retail.

OPI Pink of Hearts 2013 Swatches

*Sent for review*

Today I have the 2013 OPI Pink of Hearts duo for your viewing pleasure. The creme polish of the duo, OPI Pink-ing of You is a nice standard pale pink. It looks like a bit more of a whiter pink than some other recent pale pink cremes. The set contains a sheet with 10 stick-on crystals and 10 stick-on breast cancer awareness ribbons, and I used some of the crystals on accent nails. They were easy to apply and stayed on while I was swatching. If I was planning to wear them for an extended period of time, I would use either nail glue or a dab of clear polish to adhere them to the nail.

Pink-ing of You was a little sheer and streaky after the first two coats, but a generous third coat made it better. I think OPI has done pale pinks that are better in two coats, but this one isn't terrible. The formula seemed a bit thin, but not runny.

I was really excited for OPI More Than a Glimmer and it does not disappoint! More Than a Glimmer is a unique mix of matte rainbow glitters. I love this because the finish looks like you used a matte top coat, but you don't need that extra step. I love to mattify glitters, so this was always going to be a winner for me. I used one of the breast cancer awareness ribbons for a nice accent nail.

This is three coats of More Than a Glimmer. The formula was pretty good. At first I didn't think this would end up being opaque enough alone, but after three coats, it was pretty good. I think I might layer it over Pink-ing of You the next time I wear it, just to save on the number of glitter layers. I love how this kind of looks like a jelly sandwich, without all the layers!

Along with Awakening, the Halloween collection, China Glaze will also release a breast cancer awareness collection this fall, named Fight Like a Woman. The collection will include three pink polishes- pink being the color of the breast cancer awareness movement.

Here's what China Glaze had to say about the collection:

Inspired by the women who fight everyday and those that support them in their battle, these fabulous shades are sure to help you defeat the toughest opponents with style and class. China Glaze representative Rachel Schafer voiced that “in an industry dominated by women, for women, it is important that we strive to work together towards finding a cure.”

The three colors in “Fight Like A Woman” include:

Encouragement – A baby pink shimmer that brings on the cheer

Endurance – Power through the punches with this raspberry shimmer

Empowerment – Stand up tall with this cotton-candy crème on your nails

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), an agency of the World Health Organization dedicated to the science of cancer and promoting international collaboration in cancer research.

The “Fight Like A Woman” Collection will be available at professional beauty supply stores and select salons this September. Availability will be very limited internationally."

Some of these colors (Bahamian Escape and Frostbite) are in my top ten favorite polishes ever!!! The polishes I have reviewed before, I’m just going to provide a link to my previous review. I don’t want to bore you with the details if you've already read them!!

Bahamian Escape, two coats, no flash

First up, one of my personal favorites, Bahamian Escape. Bahamian Escape is a gorgeous sky blue. Like the sky in super photo-shopped pictures, LOL. This mani just needs some puffy clouds and we’re set. This is a masterful formula, just perfect. This is two coats and it’s totally streak-free. This is what I had hoped for in the Up and Away collection. Perfection. By the way, that air bubble you see came from my Seche Vite, not Bahamian Escape. I am running low on Seche, so the application is getting to be less than perfect.

China Glaze Frostbite, three coats, with flash

Next up, one you've seen, Frostbite.

From Up and Away, Four Leaf Clover, Peachy Keen, Happy Go Lucky.

Peachy Keen, three coats, no flash

Happy Go Lucky, three coats, with flash

Recycle, two coats, with flash

Recycle is another really great color. It’s a medium gray crème with a bit of a blue-ish tint. In low lights, I would call this “slate” gray. This is two coats, no streaks, great formula again. See a comparison of this and Essie Chinchilly here.

Secret Peri-wink-le, three coats, no flash

Secret Per-wink-le was very hard to photograph (hence the weird angled pic and blurriness). However, it is a gorgeous color in person! It's a beautiful purple-y blue color, maybe more purple than you would imagine periwinkle would be. The color on the blurriest nails in the picture (the two on the right) is more accurate. See how it's more purple? This is three coats. It was even and opaque in two, but on camera I thought it might look better with three. This is a great color for spring and it's less streaky than some other spring polishes I've seen.

Unplugged, two coats, no flash

Finally we have Unplugged. Unplugged is a dark brown-red shimmer. In low lights, this kind of looks like mud. I wore it on my toes once, and you really couldn't see the shimmer, so it was very murky-looking. On the nails though, it’s rather pretty, as long as you know that it is very dark and the shimmer doesn't show up much in low lights. This is two coats. I took one picture with flash so you could see the shimmer.

Now, I know some people are not fans of the whole nail polish for charity thing. 18% of sales is not really a big contribution when you could just go donate to cancer research yourself. However, I have had a bunch of these polishes on my list for awhile now (Outtabounds, Custom Kicks, Coconut Kiss, Rainstorm, and Breakin’). So, if I was going to buy them anyway, I think it’s great that now I can buy them and some of my money goes to a good cause! I will definitely be purchasing those five polishes (and maybe more!) when Rainbow of Hope is released in May!

Also on the way from China Glaze is the Summer 2010 collection, Poolside. Poolside is a collection of six new neon polishes. EK and I are flipping out over these and you can bet we will have pictures of all of them as soon as we can get our glittery little paws on them!!!
