MAC Skin of Evil

*Purchased by me*

Some of you may already know that my makeup collection and passion for makeup is equal to my love of nail polish. So I was super excited when MAC announced their Star Trek collection! I ordered a couple of items from the collection, including MAC Skin of Evil nail polish! Skin of Evil is really unique yellow-green shimmer with large black glitter. In some lighting the shimmer looks more golden, and more green in others. The shimmer is gorgeous, it glows! This polish is probably not for everyone, but I'm glad I got it. It's very unique and it will be perfect around Halloween!

This is two coats. It built up pretty nicely. In person, I could not see any VNL, but my camera picked up on a bit. To the naked eye, the shimmer makes this look more opaque and also it makes the black glitter look smoother, so the overall effect in person is nicer. It was fairly easy to apply. Sometimes the black glitters clumped up a bit, but they were easy enough to separate.

MAC Skin of Evil is available now at MAC counters and stores, as well as maccosmetics.com. There are also two other nail polishes in the Star Trek collection, a silver and a gold sparkle. I might want to grab the gold sparkle too!!

MAC Heavenly Creatures Haul

I have been anticipating the MAC Heavenly Creatures collection for a few months now. I LOVE MAC mineralize products, and usually their summer mineralize collection is my favorite collection of the entire year. When Heavenly Creature appeared on the MAC website almost a week early (this past Monday), I jumped at the chance to get my products earlier than expected. I also had a code for free overnight shipping, so I got my order super fast as well. Heavenly Creatures is a large collection with lots of color products, as well as skincare. Here were my first round picks (I may go back for seconds after another paycheck):

I picked up two of the four Mineralize Skin Finishes (MSFs), Center of the Universe (left) and Star Wonder (right). MSFs are great all-over color for the face and I am pale enough to often wear them as blushes. They have a beautiful sheen and I always think I look healthier when wearing an MSF.

I also got this gorgeous Mineralize Blush, Supernova. Supernova already sold out on the MAC site, but you will be able to get it next week at your local MAC counter, and there's always Macys.com, Nordstrom.com, etc. There are three other Mineralize Blushes in this collection.

Above are 2 of the nine Mineralize Eye Shadows (MES) from the collection. Nine was overwhelming to me at first, so I just got these two- Magnetic Attraction (left) and Universal Appeal (right). I will probably get another MES or two from Heavenly Creatures because I do love them.

I only got 2 of the five Cremesheen Glasses, but this is another area where I'll probably grab a few more. I love the Cremesheen Glass formula. That's Astral on the top and Meteoric on the bottom.

Finally, the one skin care product I got is Volcanic Ash Exfoliator. I got this when it was last released, I think with the Style Black collection in 2009, and loved it. This is definitely not exfoliation for sensitive skin, but my skin likes these grainy scrubs. The crystals in this do melt away so it isn't too harsh as long as you don't rub too hard at first. Many people also find the smell to be odd, so sniff it at your counter before purchasing. I will most likely buy another 2 tubes of this if it doesn't sell out too quickly.

And now for the swatches!!!! Universal Appeal MES is more purple... my camera didn't feel like accurately representing the color I guess.

 Astral, Meteoric

 Astral, Meteoric

I haven't done any full looks with the products yet, so hopefully I'll be posting those soon. I did try Center of the Universe on my cheeks quickly and I'm loving it! It gives a beautiful warm glow that isn't too brown or muddy looking. I wanted to get these quick swatches up before stuff really starts to sell out! Everything I purchased looks amazing, I am super pleased with this collection and hope to buy more when I get paid again LOL!!

The MAC Heavenly Creatures collection is available now online at maccosmetics.com. It will arrive on MAC counters on Thursday July 5th.

MAC Unconditionally Fabulous is True to It's Name

The fact that I purchased MAC Unconditionally Fabulous nail polish should tell you something about me. China Glaze Snowglobe is a reported dupe for MAC Unconditionally Fabulous. Online at popular e-tailers, I could buy CG Snowglobe for a little over $3. MAC Unconditionally Fabulous was $16. I picked Unconditionally Fabulous because it looked sparklier in MAC's Limited Edition white capped bottle. LMAO!! Seriously. That's why I bought it.

However, I'm not sad that I bought this. It's gorgeous! Unconditionally Fabulous is a clear base filled with lots of iridescent round glitter. It flashes all kinds of different colors- green, yellow, blue, gold and even red/orange. For this look, I used two coats of MAC Unconditionally Fabulous over two coats of Dr.'s Remedy Passion Purple, which you can see on it's own here. One coat of Unconditionally Fabulous looks great as well, I just wanted a more packed look.

I am actually dying to try this over white or a really pale color, but I wasn't sure how that would photograph, so I thought I'd try a darker color first. I love the way this came out, and definitely will be wearing this a lot.

I left a bit more of the bottle in the picture below so you could see how pretty it is! Honestly, I wish MAC did white packaging for every holiday collection. I loved the white. I especially love how it looks on the polish bottles and the compact of beauty powder blush I got.

MAC Unconditionally Fabulous is sold out on the MAC website, but it's still available on Macys.com and I'm betting it is still lurking on some MAC counters too.

Don't forget to enter my Sally Hansen Gem Crush Giveaway!!!

Dr.'s Remedy Passion Purple was sent to me for review by a PR agent for Dr.'s Remedy. For more information, please read my Disclosure Policy. I purchased MAC Unconditionally Fabulous with my own personal funds.

MAC Glitter & Ice Holiday Eye Look

I finally got around to taking pictures of a look I did today using MAC Snow Season and Fresh Ice Mineralize Eye Shadows from the holiday Glitter & Ice Collection. I've been wearing these eye shadows a lot since I got them, they're very useful for daily wear!

I used MAC Fresh Ice as the highlight shade under my brows and in the inner corners of my eyes.

I applied MAC Snow Season all over my lids, up into the creases. I used a deep blue shadow from a past MAC collection (Blue Flame) in the creases, but any deep navy shadow will do.

The finished look is pretty and glowy, and simple enough to wear anywhere. It was also nicely flattering. Snow Season is such a beautiful gleaming color, I think it would wake up any skin tone.

I like to apply MAC Mineralize Eye Shadows using my fingers, not a brush. I find I get less fall out this way and I can pack on the color better. Many people also like to use these eye shadows wet. I did not do this for this particular look, but the colors here could be amped up by using the shadows wet.

MAC Fresh Ice and Snow Season Mineralize Eye Shadows are available online now at maccosmetics.com.

Quick MAC Glitter and Ice Holiday Collection Swatches!

I've just started to play around with my goodies from the MAC Glitter and Ice collection. I have a few quick swatches for you today and I'll definitely post an eye look later in the week. In the first picture, you can see a very light shimmer/color on top. That's MAC How Beautiful beauty powder. It is gorgeous!! It's really subtle, but adds a nice peachy glow to your cheeks, or any other area of your face. Underneath that is MAC Dressed to Dazzle dazzleglass, a sparkling nude rose lip gloss.

Above is Dressed to Dazzle on it's own. It imparts just a hint of color to lips, but a lot of shine. It would look  amazing over a number of lipsticks, or just by itself!

On the left is MAC Fresh Ice Mineralize Eye Shadow and on the right is MAC Snow Season Mineralize Eye Shadow. I swatched these damp. Using these shadows damp really increases their pigmentation and shine.

On top is Snow Season, on the bottom is Fresh Ice. I really like all of the items I got from Glitter and Ice. They're really subtle and neutral, but super flattering. I don't own a lot of neutral make-up. I tend to go for super bright colors and glittery items. These are a nice departure and create a soft glow. I'll try to post a full face picture of myself wearing How Beautiful beauty powder so you can see how amazing it looks on, but sometimes I look like an alien in self-taken pictures LOL.

I also bought the glitter nail polish, Unconditionally Fabulous, so that will be getting it's own post very soon!

Happy Halloween!!

Just a quick post today, I'm swamped with work this week. In fact, my Zoya post never made it up yesterday!! I took all of the pictures, but ended up with no time for cropping pictures or writing the actual post! Never fear, I'll hopefully have that up by Wednesday!

I wanted to show you what I actually decided to wear for Halloween today. I used NYC Pumpkin and NYC Blackula for the alternating orange and black nails. Then, I did two coats of the beautiful Lynnderella Cauldron Drippings. Cute, right? I love how Cauldron Drippings looks over black!

Do you have any plans for tonight? I went to a costume party on Saturday night, so tonight I'll just be handing out candy and watching Hocus Pocus for the nine millionth time!!

I might also play with the make-up I got the other day!! These are a few items from MAC's Holiday collection, Glitter and Ice. Aren't the silver boxes pretty? I'll have swatches up later this week!

NYC Pumpkin and NYC Blackula were sent to me for review by a PR agent for NYC. For more information, please read my Disclosure Policy.

My Picks From MAC Semi-Precious

MAC Jade's Fortune Mineralize Eye Shadow

MAC Warmth of Coral Mineralize Blush

When I first saw the promo pictures for MAC's Semi-Precious collection, which was released on July 7, I thought I'd be buying a lot more than just two items. The eye shadows looked so unique and beautiful in their pans, I thought I wanted almost all of them! Unfortunately, they were not all that unique when swatched. I also was a little short in the cash department for this collection. Thanks to Pink Sith, I blew some cash on Chanel products (oopsies!).

MAC Warmth of Coral

MAC Jade's Fortune

Ultimately, I purchased Warmth of Coral mineralize blush and Jade's Fortune mineralize eye shadow. I am a big fan of MAC's mineralize products, they seem to work well with my skin chemistry, although many people can't stand them. Mineralize blushes are my go to blushes and I prefer them over any other brand/variety of blush. MAC's mineralize eye shadows can be annoying to apply with a brush, as they product tends to stray from your eyes. I personally recommend applying them with your finger. The pigment stays tightly packed and there is much less fall-out this way.

Jade's Fortune, with flash

As you can see, Jade's Fortune is GORGEOUS in the pan. It is a mix of yellow, lime green, sparkly navy blue, with a touch of white and maybe black thrown in. Depending on the marbling of colors in your pan of Jade's Fortune, your eye shadow may look totally different. I was fortunate enough to get a pan where the lime/yellow section is kind of separate from the navy section. So I can kind of pick up more lime and yellow for the inner part of my eyelid and then grab more of the navy for the outer 3rd and the crease.

Jade's Fortune

I mentioned that I prefer to apply MES (mineralize eye shadows) with my fingers. For these swatches, I sprayed a bit of MAC Fix+ on my finger, swirled in the pan, and applied to my hand. Water works well on MES as well. I will definitely be posting an eye look with Jade's Fortune and I will show you what I mean about being able to use the lime/yellow section and navy section separately.

Jade's Fortune

Warmth of Coral is quickly becoming a favorite every day blush for me. This picture shows it heavily swatched and unblended. Once blended into skin, it is just a lovely peachy/coral glow. If you've been to scared to try orange or coral blush, this is a nice, natural-looking one to try.

Warmth of Coral

Expect a post with a Jade's Fortune eye look soon! I also may go back and purchase Faux Gold MES as well. It is beautiful and the kind of gold/bronze I wear all the time!

MAC Semi-Precious is available online at MAC Cosmetics or at a MAC Counter near you for a limited time only!

MAC Blogger's Obsessions Lip Swatches

MAC Sonoran Rain

I wasn't originally going to post more about the MAC Bloggers' Obsessions collection because it sold out. Why torture you guys with swatches of things you can't have? But now, MAC is making a second production run of this collection, so I can post away! If you want to get on a waiting list for this collection, it should be up soon on MACcosmetics.com.

bare lips for reference

MAC Evolution Revolution

A few notes about these lip swatches: my lips are not very pigmented (see bare lips photo), so the two red glosses show up quite well on me. Also, I will do lip swatches of Caqui shortly. I was losing the daylight when I did these, and Caqui is TOO AMAZING to not capture accurately.

MAC Nitro:licious 2046

The two red glosses are really pigmented and pack quite the colorful punch when you wear them! I love them, but they're definitely not for my everyday life. That's what Evolution Revolution is for!! This is my new everyday, wear it constantly gloss. I may pick up a back-up when this is re-released!

MAC's Semi-Precious collection hit counters yesterday (and went online Tuesday). Did you get anything? I'm going today to get Warmth of Coral mineralize blush, possibly Gem of Roses lipstick, and Jade's Fortune mineralize eye shadow. Swatches soon!
