OPI Hawaii- 3 Very A-Peeling Polishes!

*sent for review*

Today I have three more of the lovely OPI Hawaii Spring/Summer 2015 polishes for you, starting off with OPI Hello Hawaii Ya?. Hello Hawaii Ya? is a dusty greyed-out purple creme. It's a nice deep lilac color, but with a little bit of an edgy neutral feel, thanks to the grey tones.

This is two easy coats of Hello Hawaii Ya?. The formula was nicely pigmented and easy to work with. I really liked this color with my skin tone a lot, but I think it will flatter other skin tones as well!

OPI Lost My Bikini in Molokini is a bright blue-toned purple creme. I wouldn't call this "blurple", but it definitely has cooler blue undertones to it. This is really pretty for spring and summer! It's bright and cheery, but not neon. I think a lot of purple cremes I own are either darker or lighter, or just not as bright and clean. This seems unique and definitely worthy of a permanent home in one of my purple drawers.

Lost My Bikini in Molokini was super easy to apply and had a great formula. Two easy coats and you're done! That little dot on my middle nail is a drop of water from a melting icicle by the way, haha! I thought I had wiped it all off my hand until I got inside, removed this polish and then looked at the pictures :/.

OPI Pineapples Have Peelings Too! is the lone glitter in this collection. It's a very unique and different polish for OPI. It has a frosty pale yellow gold base with glitters in various bright colors and different sizes. The base color of this reminds me of an old Revlon Street Wear polish I used to have and LOVE, so nostalgia is making me like this one! The fun colored glitters and the pale yellow also are giving me an Easter egg vibe, and I might have to sport this on Easter this year!

This is three thin coats of Pineapples Have Peelings Too!. It was pretty easy to apply, although I think a lot of the larger glitters in my bottle kind of sunk to the bottom. I kind of like it with only a small smattering of larger glitters. With one coat of top coat, I found this to be smooth to the touch and not lumpy looking in person.

I had to give Pineapples Have Peelings Too! some more love, so I paired it with OPI I Just Can't Cope-acabana. This is two coats of I Just Can't Cope-acabana with Pineapples Have Peelings Too! dabbed on. I used a makeup sponge and concentrated the larger glitters at the base of my nails, and then dabbed some of the small glitters out towards the tips. I think this look is really fun! I only wore it for these swatches, but I'm going to have to wear it as a full mani this week, it's too cute.

The two purple cremes in this collection are really fabulous and must haves for any purple lover like myself. I really like Pineapples Have Peelings Too! more than I expected to based on other swatches I saw. I can't wait to wear it over I Just Can't Cope-acabana this week!

The OPI Hawaii collection is available now at Ulta, ulta.com, and fine salons.

Nicole by OPI Modern Family Holiday, Part 1!

 *Sent for review*

Nicole by OPI has released five new Modern Family polishes for the holidays and I have three of those to show you today. This lovely cornflower blue shimmer is Nicole by OPI Late Blu-mer. In person, this has subtle iridescent glitter flecks that look really pretty in the sunlight. I haven't done a direct comparison yet, but I think Late Blu-mer is darker and richer than OPI Dining Al Frisco, if you were wondering. It's also much less brushstroke-ridden. Dining Al Frisco also lacks those cool iridescent flecks I mentioned.

This is two easy coats of Late Blu-mer. It was very pigmented and has a great consistency. This kind of frosty shimmer can get some brushstrokes, but they weren't too bad in person.

Nicole by OPI Aren't Families Grape? is a pretty cool-toned purple shimmer. It's definitely purple, not blurple, but the undertones are blue rather than red. It's a lovely not too dark purple shimmer.

This is three coats of Aren't Families Grape? and I wished it was a tad more pigmented. I feel like you should be able to do two coats of a color like this and be done with it. The formula was a bit on the thin side, but not hard to apply.

Nicole by OPI Spark the Conversation is a very cool holo silver square glitter polish. This is different from other holo silver glitter I own because every single piece is a little square! Cute, I like this idea a lot. The glitter pieces were nicely holo too.

You will definitely have to dab this polish on, as the base is pretty thick and the glitter doesn't want to go on to the nail that easily. This is two dabbed coats over Nicole by OPI Aren't Families Grape?. The application of this wasn't fantastic, but it wasn't impossible either. If you are a glitter noob, it may be harder for you.

Despite application not being a breeze, Spark the Conversation is still my favorite of these three. I'll have the other two from the collection swatched for you shortly.

Limited edition Modern Family Holiday nail lacquer will be available November 2013 for $7.99 each at select CVS locations nationwide. For more information, visit nicolebyopi.com. Follow Nicole by OPI on Twitter @NicoleByOPI and become a Facebook fan!

More OPI San Francisco Collection swatches!

Base: one coat Nicole by OPI Base Coat Plus
Color: two coats OPI A-Piers To Be Tan
Top: one coat Essie Good to Go
Application: excellent (out of poor, average, good, excellent)
The OPI San Francisco collection was sent for review. All opinions are my own honest thoughts.

Today I have half of the non-Liquid Sand part of the OPI San Francisco collection for your viewing pleasure! I was surprised by how much I liked these polishes. Some of them are shades that I felt I already had, but they really impressed me formula-wise, so I feel like they are all really good polishes to have in your collection. I started off with OPI A-Piers To Be Tan, a butterscotch-y tan creme. This kind of rich-looking tan feels like fall to me for sure. I can almost hear the leaves crunching!

A-Piers To Be Tan was very nicely pigmented. I only needed two coats and it was so easy to apply. It's a great example of how good the OPI creme formula can be!

Base: one coat Nicole by OPI Base Coat Plus
Color: two coats OPI Dining Al Frisco
Top: one coat Essie Good to Go
Application: good (out of poor, average, good, excellent)

OK, I can hear some of you already about the frostiness and brushstrokes, but I'm just going to be honest with you. I like frosts sometimes!! Ahhh, don't hate me!! I really like the frosty silver-laced blue of OPI Dining Al Frisco. It's very reflective looking on my nails and was kind of flattering on me.

I rated the application as "good" only because there are visible brushstrokes with this polish. The pigmentation of this polish was outstanding. I did only one coat on one of these nails to show you how good the opacity was. Can you guess which nail only has one coat? No? It's my pointer finger. Dining Al Frisco was really easy to apply, but if brushstrokes and frost bother you, you will probably want to leave it behind. I know that no other human being I see in person will notice that my polish has brushstrokes, so I'll still wear this one.

Base: one coat Nicole by OPI Base Coat Plus
Color: two coats OPI Haven't The Foggiest
Top: one coat Essie Good to Go
Application: excellent (out of poor, average, good, excellent)
The OPI San Francisco collection was sent for review. All opinions are my own honest thoughts.

OPI Haven't The Foggiest is a gorgeous gunmetal foil. For some reason, I was expecting this to look like other things I have in my collection, but it really didn't. It's so much more rich and pigmented, for one thing. For another thing, the deepened gray silver is darker than other silvery foils. I just want to wear this NOW! Even though it's still summer!

Another reason why Haven't The Foggiest beats every other foil in my collection is it's superior pigmentation!! This is two coats and it had none of that sheer patchiness that other foils sometimes have. It was nearly opaque with one coat, but I did two to really get full coverage. This applied perfectly, no problems at all!

Base: one coat Nicole by OPI Base Coat Plus
Color: two coats OPI Keeping Suzi At Bay
Top: one coat Essie Good to Go
Application: excellent (out of poor, average, good, excellent)
The OPI San Francisco collection was sent for review. All opinions are my own honest thoughts.

OPI Keeping Suzi At Bay is a beautifully rich medium blue creme. It's kind of the fall cousin of the bright blues like Baker St. and Butler, Please. It looks a bit darker in the bottle than it does on the nail. I am a giant sucker for blues of any sort, but especially of this particular medium, bright but also rich looking, shade. It's no wonder I am well into my second Helmer drawer of blues!

Keeping Suzi At Bay was another dream to apply. At this point in swatching, I was really impressed with the formula and pigmentation of these polishes. This is two coats again and it is perfectly opaque. Just as a note, this is a straight creme, the bit of shimmer you can see is left over from Haven't The Foggiest and I didn't notice it until seeing the pictures later on!

Base: one coat Nicole by OPI Base Coat Plus
Color: two coats OPI Peace & Love & OPI
Top: one coat Essie Good to Go
Application: excellent (out of poor, average, good, excellent)
The OPI San Francisco collection was sent for review. All opinions are my own honest thoughts.

And now for the one I'm sure you've been waiting for, OPI Peace & Love & OPI, the much anticipated duochrome of the San Francisco collection. I can happily report that the duochrome is very strong on this one. It's a strong green/blue shift to a deep purple-y gray polish. Sadly, my camera hated this polish and wouldn't capture exactly how much of a green shift there was here. I even tried an underwater shot with no luck. If you like duochromes though, I would absolutely recommend this baby! I am in love!!

I am especially in love here, because sometimes duochromes can be on the sheer side and need 3-4 coats. Not Peace & Love & OPI. This beauty only needed two coats!!!! Two! It's very rich and pigmented, and has lovely smooth application. This is probably the best OPI duochrome since some of the old ones. Maybe even better, because some of those oldies (Man of La Mancha, I mean you) are SO sheer, they are only good for layering.

Right after I tried the underwater shot. You can see the water droplets LOL.

Base: one coat Nicole by OPI Base Coat Plus
Color: two coats OPI Incognito in Sausalito
Top: one coat Essie Good to Go
Application: excellent (out of poor, average, good, excellent)
The OPI San Francisco collection was sent for review. All opinions are my own honest thoughts.

Sigh... deep navy creme perfection. That's how I would describe OPI Incognito in Sausalito. I can't resist a good navy creme, they are fantastic for wearing alone or layering with glitter! OPI really knows how to do them well. This one is nice and dark, but it looked navy in most lights. In very dim lighting, it would probably look more black, but in all others it looks like the blue depths of the ocean!

I probably sound like a broken record now, but the formula of Incognito was lovely. Two coats for full opacity and smooth application. Love this!!

So far, I've tried 9 out of the 15 polishes in the OPI San Francisco Fall 2013 collection and I honestly really like all of them. The formulas are so great that even if I own something similar, I'd give that one away and keep the OPI one. I am really excited to try the other 6 in the collection and I'll have those swatches for you soon!

San Francisco by OPI will be available August 7, 2013, at Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, jcp Salons, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, ULTA and ulta.com for $9.00 ($10.95 CAN) suggested retail for each nail lacquer.

Nicole by OPI Modern Family Part Three!

Base: one coat Nicole by OPI Base Coat Plus
Color: two coats Nicole by OPI I Do De-Claire!
Top: one coat Poshe
Application: good (out of poor, average, good, excellent)

I apologize for how crazy long it has taken me to swatch the whole Nicole by OPI Modern Family collection!! I do all of my swatching outside in natural light, and the weather in Connecticut has not been nice for swatching. When I did these today, it was FREEZING outside (we're in the middle of an "arctic blast"), so sorry for any cold, red-looking hands. I also apologize for the bubbles my Poshe top coat caused, they are NOT from the polishes. I need a new swatching top coat. First up, we have Nicole by OPI I Do De-Claire!, a frosty pale pink. While I am not one for wearing frosty pale pinks, this didn't bother me too much. The frostiness looks mostly like shimmer, and it's not so pale that it looks white-ish.

If you're looking for this kind of pink with excellent pigmentation, look no further. This is two coats, and it was pretty pigmented after just one coat. The formula was very easy to work with too! I also didn't have too much trouble with visible brushstrokes. With any frosty color, there are likely to be some brushstrokes, but in person, they weren't terribly obvious (I think they're a bit more obvious in my photos).

Base: one coat Nicole by OPI Base Coat Plus
Color: three coats Nicole by OPI Am I Making Myself Claire?
Top: one coat Poshe
Application: good (out of poor, average, good, excellent)

Nicole by OPI Am I Making Myself Claire? is a grayed-out lilac pink creme. I would actually probably say it's a gray with hints of pinky lavender. It's not very flattering on me, but I can definitely see it looking beautiful on someone with the right skin tone. It's a pretty cool mix of a little bit edgy, with the grayness, and pastel.

This is three coats of Am I Making Myself Claire?. The formula was pretty good, especially considering that pale cremes and I often don't get along. It was opaque in three coats. It was maybe a bit streaky on the first coat, but evened out with the second.

Base: one coat Nicole by OPI Base Coat Plus
Color: two coats Nicole by OPI Basking In Gloria
Top: one coat Poshe
Application: excellent (out of poor, average, good, excellent)

Nicole by OPI Basking In Gloria is a really pretty red-violet shimmer. Might I say that it seems a tad unfair that Gloria gets a gorgeous red-violet and a pretty purple in this collection and Claire gets saddled with a frosty pale pink and a pale gray-lilac creme? Is Claire really that boring? Anyway..... I do like Basking In Gloria a lot! It has enough violet in it for me to love it more than I would normally love a red.

This is just two coats of Basking In Gloria, so the pigmentation is very nice! I had no troubles with the formula, it was nice and smooth! Lovely!

Base: one coat Nicole by OPI Base Coat Plus
Color: three coats Nicole by OPI My Jay or the Highway!
Top: one coat Poshe
Application: average (out of poor, average, good, excellent)

I'm glad I don't have a job that makes me wear neutral cremes all day long. I don't know how some people do it! Nicole by OPI My Jay or the Highway! is a light taupe creme. It wasn't super flattering on me and it's not really dark enough for me to consider it to be an edgy taupe. Just a pale, work-appropriate neutral taupe.

This is three coats of My Jay or the Highway! and it was streaky for the first two coats. I needed the third to even it out. I also thought the formula was not as smooth as the others, maybe a tad thicker too.

Base: one coat Nicole by OPI Base Coat Plus
Color: three coats Nicole by OPI Luke of the Draw
Top: one coat Poshe
Application: good (out of poor, average, good, excellent)

Now that's what I'm talkin about!!!! Nicole by OPI Luke of the Draw is my obvious favorite in this post. Luke of the Draw is a black jelly packed with different sizes of silver glitter. The jelly base looks opaque, but also lets the glitter show through nicely. This is one of those polishes that didn't photograph well in the sun, so I took shade pictures. The sun made it look too sheer.

Luke of the Draw was mostly opaque in three coats. Being that the base is a jelly, it had a tiny bit of VNL, but it wasn't bothersome to me. The formula was good and easy to control, no problems getting lots of glitter out.

Of these five, my favorite is definitely Luke of the Draw!! If you're looking for a nice red-violet, Basking In Gloria is a great choice too. If you missed my other two posts about the Nicole by OPI Modern Family collection, check them out here and here. My top 3 for the collection are Alex By the Books, A Like-Haley Story and Luke of the Draw!
