Smitten Polish ERMAHGERD Candy Corms, plus Hurricanes, Flying Squirrels, and Snow, Oh My!

Base: one coat Zoya Get Even
Color: three coats Smitten Polish ERMAHGERD Candy Corms
Top: one coat Seche Vite
Application: excellent (out of poor, average, good, excellent)

Well ladies and gents, I am happy to be back to blogging! I hope you missed me as much as I missed you!! I know I wasn't gone for too long, but after more than two years of blogging at least 3 times a week, it seemed like a long absence to me. I had a really rough week though, starting off with Hurricane Sandy. Sandy hit my area extremely hard, and the whole feel of my town was very apocalyptic. My own home was safe, but it was a mentally hard time. During the hurricane, our chimney cap blew off and before we could have it replaced, a flying squirrel (!!) came into the fireplace. Despite our best efforts, she came into my living room through the fireplace. Trust me, you do NOT want a flying squirrel in your house. No matter how cute they are. Here is the little devil hiding in my coat closet:

The little squirrel was safely relocated by a professional to a lovely tree in the woods behind my house. She was not hurt at all and quite happy to be free. If you are in Southwestern CT and need a critter relocated from your house, I HIGHLY recommend Wild Things. After flying squirrel-gate, we lost power for a few days while the utility company fixed downed trees in our area. And now I have bronchitis, plus the Nor'easter is here, ravaging my town yet again (see picture of snowy bush below)!! So, it's been a really unpleasant week, but I am so thankful to still have a house, unlike many people just down the street from me.

Now on to the happy stuff!! Smitten Polish ERMAHGERD Candy Corms is my nail of the day, and I am loving it! This polish has a smooth, even, creamy white base filled with small yellow and orange glitters and large orange and yellow hex glitters. Every time I look at my nails, I want to eat Candy Corn (which I can do, since I bought a giant bag of it)!

ERMAHGERD Candy Corms applied like a dream. I said it before, but Noelie from Smitten Polish is a master at making white bases that apply easily and streak-free. I am not sure how she does it, but I will keep buying her polishes LOL! This is three coats of ECC by itself, no base color needed (another plus!).

Above, you can see the view out of my front door today. This is really uncalled for right after a hurricane. I didn't have work today because of this and I also didn't have work for three days last week because of Sandy! Unfortunately, I don't get paid when we don't have work... :(. I'm going to work on my OPI Skyfall Part 2 right now though!

Smitten Polish is developing her Holiday colors by the way, and they look EXCELLENT!! To see previews of the holiday color/stay in touch with Smitten Polish, visit her Facebook page. Smitten Polish is available through her Etsy store, and ERMAHGERD Candy Corms is still in stock right now (along with Spice Cake- review coming soon, Confection, and a couple other goodies)!

Very pretty polish. Glad you're ok, I've been seeing what's going on in the northeast and it looks terrible.

Thanks TikiBarbie, it is pretty terrible around here. I hope it starts to get better for the people who lost everything.
