Pretty and Polished Cuttlefish Provides Hours of Entertainment!

Base: one coat Zoya Get Even
Color: three coats Pretty and Polished Cuttlefish
Top: one coat NYC Grand Central Station
Application: good (out of poor, average, good, excellent)

There's nothing like a color changing polish to give nail fanatics hours of entertainment. Pretty and Polished Cuttlefish is the most entertaining polish I've worn in ages! Cuttlefish is a gorgeous teal blue with assorted green and blue glitters. Cuttlefish changes from deep teal blue when it's cold, to a minty-tinted white when it's warm! The color change is very dramatic and the polish also looks amazing when it's mid color change.

This is three coats of Cuttlefish, you probably could get away with two through. The formula was good, maybe a tad thick, but quite easily workable. Look at how pretty the green and blue glitter looks when your nails are warm! (Excuse the water drops, I used hot water to make the color change for these pictures.)

What was really cool for me during the couple days I wore this polish was watching how much the color changed depending on what I was doing. I wore this to a dance class and it was really fun to watch it heat up as I started sweating! I also really loved when just my free edge would remain blue for awhile and the rest of the nail would be white (you can see this starting to happen in the picture below).

Now, don't judge, but I'm going to post a terrible picture taken with my iPod just because I really love how the polish looked at the moment I took the picture! I'm keeping it small, because the quality stinks. Look at how fun this looks though!! This is definitely the best color change polish I have tried. I love that it really reacted with the changes in my body temperature, rather than me having to run it under water to change the color. Plus, I love that it also has glitter!!

Pretty and Polished Cuttlefish is still available on Pretty and Polished's website, along with a pink color-changer, Pretty Chameleon (I totally want this one now too!). I need to get some of the Pretty and Polished Mint Chocolate Chip cuticle balm next, yum!!

Valentine's Day Polish! Pretty and Polished Pinkie Pie

Base: one coat Zoya Get Even
Color: index finger- three coats Pretty and Polished Pinkie Pie alone. other fingers- two coats China Glaze Sugar High, two coats Pretty and Polished Pinkie Pie
Top: one coat Poshe
Application: excellent (out of poor, average, good, excellent)

I always feel like the end of the Christmas holidays is super depressing, so I'm glad that indie polish makers are releasing some spectacular Valentine's Day polishes to cheer me up!! Today I got to try Pretty and Polished Pinkie Pie, a limited edition Valentine's Day polish coming out on January 16th! Pinkie Pie was released last year for a limited time at Valentine's Day and is back again, in case you missed it or you're new to the indie scene! It's a beautiful mix of lots of different pink glitters, with pretty shimmer in a clear base. I'm not a big pink lover, but looking at Pinkie Pie makes me happy!

I wanted to try Pinkie Pie with no undies to see how it looked, so my index finger is three coats of Pinkie Pie alone. It had pretty good coverage this way and I could see myself wearing it by itself. However, I really love it over China Glaze Sugar High! I think you could put one or two coats of Pinkie Pie over any pink and it would look stunning! This is two coats over Sugar High. Pinkie Pie was easy to apply and the glitter was dense, without making the base thick. Very easy to use!

I can't wait to try Pinkie Pie over a pale lavender base too. I'm thinking OPI Lucky Lucky Lavender maybe. I will definitely share pictures when I try it!!

If you're in need of a January pick-me-up, head on over to shopprettyandpolished.com on January 16. There will be a bunch of new treats that day, including a Valentine's Day gift box called "Sinfully Sweet Gifts"  that will contain:
Pinkie Pie nail polish
Another polish named "Bedroom Delights"
A hand and body lotion "Sin City" that smells like dark chocolate!
and a lip balm "Dipped Berries" that smells like chocolate covered strawberries. Yes please.

Pretty & Polished Louis Louis

Base: one coat Zoya Get Even
Color: three coats Pretty & Polished Louis Louis
Top: one coat Poshe
Application: good (out of poor, average, good, excellent)

Louis louaayyyyyyy oh nooo... I love that song, and so I couldn't resist buying Pretty & Polished Louis Louis, from the upcoming Save the Dauphin collection. Louis Louis is a super blingy gold sparkly base with large red hex glitter and smaller blue hex glitter. There are also what looks like gold flake glitter pieces in there. The gold base is kind of a light antique gold, not too yellow and not too brown either. I love that color! The bling kind of confused my camera, so these are not quite as sharp as my pictures normally are.

This is three coats of Louis Louis and it covered pretty well. It was easy to apply and the glitter pieces all came out of the bottle with no effort. The gold base itself didn't want to be opaque right at the tips of my nails, so I dabbed a bit more polish there when I was finished with my other nails. That was the only reason I didn't give the formula an excellent rating.

The Pretty & Polished Save the Dauphin collection will be available online at shopprettyandpolished.com on January 16. You can check out bottle shots of the whole collection on the Pretty & Polished Facebook page.

I received this product early and for a slight discount in exchange for an honest review. For more information, please read my Disclosure Policy.

Pretty & Polished Hameau

Base: one coat Zoya Get Even
Color: three coats Pretty & Polished Hameau
Top: one coat Poshe
Application: excellent (out of poor, average, good, excellent)

Today's polish is the gorgeous Pretty & Polished Hameau. Hameau is part of the Marie Antoinette-themed Save the Dauphine collection, scheduled to release on January 16. I am always a sucker for these "glitter in a milky base" polishes, and Chels managed to make Hameau different from other polishes in the same vein. For one thing, this milky base has some delicate shimmer. For another, she used some very pretty jewel-toned emerald green and  cobalt blue glitters. According to Chels, "Hameau is the cottage built by Marie Antoinette. This was made to resemble the color of the cottage and the surrounding flowers." I did a Google image search of "Hameau" and this polish really does a good job of representing the property!

I found the formula of this polish to be really excellent. This is three coats and as you can see, there is not a streak in sight. The base is nice and smooth-looking, and the glitter shows through really well. If you're looking for this to have no VNL, you could do a fourth coat, or maybe layer it over a white or off-white. However, I like the squishy feel of this as it is. I purchased the mini bottle of this polish and it was as easy to work with as any full size similar polish I own. This will be available in the full size as well, of course.

The Pretty & Polished Save the Dauphin collection will be available online at shopprettyandpolished.com on January 16. You can check out bottle shots of the whole collection on the Pretty & Polished Facebook page.
