A Spring NOTD with Essie Hors D'Oeuvres

*Purchased by me*

Spring seems like it's finally here (no more snow!) and I am really happy about it. My favorite nail colors for spring are always baby chick yellow, mint and periwinkle. I wanted a fun mani using China Glaze Lemon Fizz and I spotted Essie Hors D'Oeuvres sitting in my untrieds drawers. Hors D'Oeuvres is a really perfect glitter topper for a pale yellow polish because it has golden shimmer and silver glitter in a clear base. Gold and silver both look excellent with yellow and both of them together is magical! The golden shimmer really popped in person.

This is three coats of Lemon Fizz (always a bit problematic with streaks) and one coat of Essie Hors D'Oeuvres. Hors D'Oeuvres was easy to apply and lots of glitter and shimmer came out with just one coat. This would make a great topper over a wide variety of colors, for all seasons.

I know a lot of people were not fans of the polishes from this Essie collection, but I really liked both this and On a Silver Platter. I think they make great glitter toppers and did not find them to be super chunky or too textured. I bought mine from a seller on eBay, these are still relatively easy to find.

Is it spring where you live? Are you finally enjoying warmth and sunshine?

I really liked On A Silver platter as well, but I've yet to pick it up. I'm so lazy when it comes to acquiring lemmings, but then I see swatches and it reminds me of how much I want that polish, haha!

I do the same thing Abby! I have some polishes that I've been meaning to get for ages. It's funny how some are immediate buys and others it takes me a year to get!
