Nicole by OPI Wel-Kim To My World Part One!

Nicole by OPI has been impressing a lot of polish hoarders lately, and the Kardashian Kolors they keep releasing are getting a lot of attention. I have the latest Kardashian Kolors, inspired by Kim Kardashian, Wel-Kim To My World. Apparently, Kim likes soft hues on her nails most of the time. I am hoping Nicole by OPI also does a Khloe collection, because I bet you that will rock the house!!

We'll start with Nicole by OPI Kim Konfidential, a pale tan nude creme. This is kind of a yellow-based tan, but very soft and wearable on a lot of skin tones. I like this a lot on me actually! Please ignore the smudges on my ring and pinkie fingers, they are my fault, not the fault of the polish! I have a HORRIBLE cold, and had a massive sneezing fit during these swatches causing me to flail my arms around and smudge these nails. I fixed the smudges once, but then it happened again, so I quite frankly gave up.

This is three coats of Kim Konfidential and it was pretty sheer and a tad streaky on the first coat. It evened out with the second and became more opaque with the third. The formula was pretty good, I did wait in between coats though to avoid streaking.

Next up is the beautiful Nicole by OPI Nothing Kim-pares To Blue. This is a unique blue shimmer that is kind of periwinkle-like, but not as purple-leaning as something like China Glaze Secret Periwinkle. This is definitely blue, but it's a really neat shade of blue. Again, sorry for the sneezing fit smudge on the pinkie nail. It is really hard to swatch when you're sick!

The downside to this awesome and different shade of blue is that it's pretty sheer. This is three coats and I can still see VNL. I think next time, I might try layering it over either a white creme, or maybe a baby blue creme. It also looks a little uneven in places, so layering really might be your best bet.

The surprise favorite in these three for me was Nicole by OPI Others Pale By Kim-parison. This is a soft, pretty eggshell white. It isn't stark or modern looking like some white polishes, but very feminine and delicate. I like white polish, even when it is stark, but I like this quite a lot too. I think I will be wearing multi-colored glitter over this beauty a LOT. Like... look for a post featuring this + glitter later in the week LOL!!

Others Pale By Kim-parison was actually less sheer than the other two. I used three coats, but I was pretty happy with the end result. It also wasn't too streaky, given it is a white. White polishes are almost always a guaranteed streak-fest, but this looks pretty even! I did wait in between coats again, just FYI.

Overall, I like these three shades. I LOVE Others Pale By Kim-parison and can't wait to layer some glitz on top of it. I wanted to love Nothing Kim-pares To Blue, but wish it was more pigmented. I will still wear it and Kim Konfidential too when I want a soft and pretty look!

Wel-Kim to My World will be available April 2012 for $7.99 each at retailers including CVS, Duane Reade, Harmon, Sears, ULTA and Wegmans. For more information, visit nicolebyopi.com.

I can't believe it, but I'm liking the last one the most, even though it's totally out of what I would normally go for!

I know, that was my favorite too! I have it layered under a pretty glitter later this week or maybe early next week and it really makes an awesome base for glitter!
