I Love Nail Polish Rapture (H) Swatches!

 *purchased by me*

I am loving the sunshine we've been having, mostly because it's a great chance for me to wear ALL THE HOLO stuff!! ILNP Rapture (H) is one of the polishes I wanted to test drive during this sunny period. Rapture is an antique gold Ultra Chrome Flakie that shifts to blue and olive green. The holo version here also contains scattered holo sparkle that really adds to the beauty of the polish. You can see all the twinkly rainbow sparkles mixed in with the beautiful flakies, it's a really cool effect in person!

This is just one coat of Rapture (H) over OPI Road House Blues. I wanted to wear it over a dark blue to make the gold and the holo really pop, but you can wear the ILNP Ultra Chrome Flakies on their own in a few coats as well. This was super easy to apply and has a great consistency. I felt like the flakies spread themselves around well and didn't end up concentrated in one spot.

I'm chalking ILNP Rapture (H) up to another Win for ILNP in my book. I am really loving these Ultra Chrome Flakies! ILNP Rapture (H) is available now at ilnp.com.

Sally Hansen Color Foil Rose Copper

 *Purchased by me*

I hope you're all enjoying the weekend right now like I am! Sorry for the late post today, but after doing some swatching this morning, I took a nice long run because it's such a gorgeous day out! My NOTD for the last few days was Sally Hansen Color Foil in Rose Copper. I was excited to heard that Sally Hansen was coming out with this line of foils, but then I didn't see them in a Walgreen's near me until just last week. I picked up Rose Copper and Minted Metal to try them out. Rose Copper is a gorgeous shade of glowy rose gold. It is similar in shade to Orly Rage, but the texture is much more smooth. Rage is a chunky foil, this is a smooth shiny, very reflective foil. This reminds me of some old Sally Hansen foils that were awesome, and the good Avon foils too, I think I still have those!

Happily, the formula of Rose Copper is also better than Orly Rage. Rose Copper is easy to apply and was completely opaque in two coats. The instructions on the bottle recommend not using base or top coat and I definitely agree about the base coat for sure. I tried applying this over a base coat and it was a bit streaky. Over clean nails, it was a total dream, almost a one-coater. Over on Makeup Alley's Nail Board, we have a term, "nail pajamas", that refers to a polish you can apply super lazily (no base coat, one or two coats only, no top coat) and still have a nice mani. The Sally Hansen Color Foils have been deemed nail pajamas for sure!

*Purchased by me*

I am in love with Sally Hansen Rose Copper and can't wait to try Minted Metal soon. I hope maybe Walgreen's will have a sale soon so I can just buy the rest of the Color Foils. I think it'd be well worth it!

OPI Push and Shove + Giveaway!!

*Purchased by me*

I love metallic nail polish and I am always excited about new chrome polishes, so OPI Push and Shove was easily my most anticipated polish from the OPI Gwen Stefani collection. Push and Shove is a very reflective silver chrome that comes with a special base coat (Lay Down That Base). I think Push and Shove is probably the shiniest chrome silver I own, shinier even than these pictures suggest.

Push and Shove applied really well, this is two coats, but it was pretty opaque in just one. With chromes, I try to cover the whole nail in just two strokes. The more strokes you take, the more you see brushstroke lines. As with other chrome polishes, Push and Shove highlighted the imperfections in my nails, but from a bit of a distance it's not at all obvious, so I'm OK with that. I did not test Push and Shove for wear yet, but OPI says it's designed for "one night only". I have seen varying reports on that- some have said they were able to wear it for 2 days, others said only a few hours. It most likely depends on your nail chemistry.

If you are a fan of shiny chromes and metallic polish, you need Push and Shove!! Luckily, I have a bottle courtesy of OPI to give away to one lucky winner! Please use the Rafflecopter widget below to enter and good luck! Giveaway ends February 8, 2014 at midnight ET.
