China Glaze Havana Nights Summer 2021 Collection

*Purchased by me*

Alright I know summer is over and fall is here already, but I've been meaning to post these for weeks. I got  SO MUCH use out of the neons from the China Glaze Havana Nights collection this summer. I wore these colors repeatedly, so it's only right that I share them with you. And then we can move on to fall stuff.  China Glaze Cuba Diving is a bright neon sky blue. This was one of my favorite in the collection. It's so happy and fun. The formula is also absolutely fabulous. It only needs two coats max (I wore it in one coat sometimes when I was in a rush!). It applies smoothly and is a nice consistency. These are all neons, so I have one layer of shiny top coat on in all of these pictures, as they dry to a more satin finish.

China Glaze Left My Heart in Havana is a bright neon purple with pinky undertones. China Glaze has done this sort of color before and they happen to do it really well. Super fun and great summer color! The formula was very good for this one two. Two coats and nice application.

China Glaze Tropic Like It's Hot is a bright yellow green creme. My photos look a bit too green. It is more yellow in person, although it does have strong green undertones. I am so impressed with the formula of this one. Yellows in general and neons in general can have fussy formulas. Tropic Like It's Hot was easy to use and opaque in two coats! If you do thinner coats you may want a third, but I didn't need one. I did not have any trouble with this being streaky, it's very nice and smooth. My new favorite neon yellow green for sure!

I LOVE the color and shimmer of China Glaze Takes Two to Mango. The bright citrus orange pop with golden shimmer is so perfect! However, this is the only polish in the collection that had a bit of a weird formula. It was a little on the thick side and also applied unevenly. I did still wear it a lot because the color was really worth the effort. With a good layer of top coat, it all smoothed out nicely anyway.

China Glaze Guava Mama is my second favorite in the collection and my new #1 pink polish ever. It's such a bright, saturated neon pink with a hint of coral. It makes me happy just looking at it! The formula was excellent for this one too. Two coats, very easy application.

The final polish in the collection is China Glaze Head to Moji-toes. I was originally going to skip that shade, but ended up purchasing it because I loved the rest of the collection so much. So I will be posting that one soon too! It's a darker neon turquoise and you definitely can rock it into the fall.

Did you get any of the China Glaze Havana Nights polishes? If you love neons like I do, they are definitely amazing! I got mine at Polish Pick.

First St. Patrick's Day Mani of 2018!

Having a snow day yesterday gave me some extra time to do my nails! Of course I had to go with a green with a little shamrock accent for St. Patrick's Day! This nice spearmint green creme is OPI Infinite Shine S-ageless Beauty. I haven't worn it since it came out and I had forgotten what a nice pastel yellow-toned green it is.

I used Zoya Chita and What's Up Nails Shamrock Stencils for an easy shamrock accent. Have you done any St. Patrick's Day manis yet? Let me know in the comments!

NerdLacquer Returns to Never Enough Nails!

*Purchased by me*

I have a fun post for you today with a brand that really helped kick off the indie polish world a few years ago. If you weren't involved in the polish world back then, let me tell you- NerdLacquer was crazy in demand! I loved all of the NerdLacquers I got back then and was sad when the brand ceased to exist for a bit. However, over the summer, I discovered that NerdLacquer is back in action and better than ever!! There are TONS of great new shades, but you can also have some of the old shades remade. I purchased two new shades and had two old ones remade to satisfy years old lemmings of mine! First up is NerdLacquer Kylo. I really just purchased this for the name, since I have a secret crush on Kylo Ren. Kylo is described as a "glowy and menacing wicked blood red with flame and violet (violent?) shimmer and black microglitter". I love this violet-tinged red and the violet shimmer is more apparent in person. The red glitter lurking under the deeper red jelly base really pops out. I love this much more than I thought I would, and though I only got it for the name, I can't wait to wear it!

This is two easy coats. It was easy to apply and has a nice gel-like consistency, not runny or thin at all. It was smooth to the touch with one layer of top coat.

I wanted NerdLacquer Acid of 1000 Fangs SO badly a few years back. I think one went on eBay for like $75 and I was actually considering it for a minute. Acid of 1000 Fangs has a chartreuse acid green crelly base with matching chartreuse hex glitters, lighter yellow-green glitters and teeny silver sparkles. It is a really unique polish and not for the faint-hearted or glitter-fearing among us. I love a good weird green polish and I also love glitter, so this is everything I had hoped it would be!

This is two coats of Acid of 1000 Fangs. I used two layers of top coat and this mostly felt smooth, I just had one or two glitters that stuck up a bit on the sides. I probably could have pushed them over to the center of my nails more, but I really didn't notice them at the time. The formula was a little thicker, but I didn't really have trouble with it.

Another older NerdLacqer that I coveted for ages, NerdLacquer Batcave was originally released as part of a trio that was exclusive to Harlow & Co. I could not nab this for the life of me and I was so sad about it. Happily, I was able to get it remade now and I am thrilled with the result. I think this version is even better than the original. The original seems to have had a darker gray base, whereas this is more of a blue-gray jelly base. Both versions have plentiful metallic blue glitter and black glitter accents, as well as teeny silver sparkles.

This is two coats of Batcave and I found it to be pretty easy to apply. It is packed with glitter, so you may need to push some pieces around. I used two layers of top coat and it is smooth and shiny.

My second new shade that I purchased is NerdLacquer Tristan & Iseult. Tristan & Iseult is a dirty olive green with copper and orange sparkles, bronze flakes, and a shimmer that looks like it could be slightly gold toned, but it's not too warm. The shimmer just adds a nice glow to the polish. This is a really complex and unique polish and unique polishes are what drew me to NerdLacquer years ago. I am so happy to see that tradition continue!

This is two very easy coats. It has a great formula and was perfectly smooth to the touch with one layer of top coat.

My order also arrived with these adorable skulls-

and this cute light up squishy ring!

I placed my order on July 22 at night and received it on July 27, an excellent turn around time. Everything was packed extremely well and I will definitely order again. I am very happy that NerdLacquer is back and can't wait to see what else she will cook up!

You can purchase Kylo and Tristan & Iseult on http://www.nerdlacquer.com. If you are interested in purchased Acid of 1000 Fangs or Batcave, you can email info@nerdlacquer.com.

Lynnderella Friday, Vol. 56!

 *Sent for review*

It's witching season over on lynnderella.com and I have two of the new Halloween polishes to show you today, as well as two minty fresh cuties. Lynnderella Wild Life is one of the five polishes released in the Season of the Witches collection. It contains silver holographic glitter in a menagerie of shapes- bats, starfish, fish, penguins, butterflies, and Mickey glitters with smaller silver holo accents like circles and squares. I love the bats, they are SO cool!!!

This is one dabbed coat over Dr.'s Remedy Timeless Teal. It was pretty easy to apply, I did have to angle the bats a bit to stay flat on my small nails. But it wasn't hard and I love having holo bats on my nails!!

Lynnderella Witchy's Blushing! is a stunning bright acid green shimmer with chartreuse microglitter accents. It's my new favorite green and will be perfect for Halloween-themed manis. Because it's shimmer based, it looks nice and smooth, never lumpy. The holo microglitter really pops against the acid green.

This is two flawless coats. I didn't even do any clean-up, it was perfect. I used one layer of top coat and it had a nice glossy finish. A++++!

Lynnderella Minstagram is a new LE with lots of small matte mint green glitters, iridescent and mint accents in an aqua shimmered base. The shimmer is super reflective and pretty!!

This was three thin coats. It was still a bit sheer after two coats. I didn't want to do two thinkers coats, because the glitter is so plentiful, it could end up looking textured or bumpy. But three thin coats hit the spot!

Lynnderella Minterest is a shimmery mint with aqua, green, turquoise, cyan and mint shimmers. The shimmer is beautifully complex in this one and can make the polish look a bit more green or more blue depending on lighting. Beautiful!!

This is also three thin coats. Two had a touch of VNL, but it built up nicely with the third. The formula was lovely, a great consistency.

The Season of the Witches polishes are available now on lynnderella.com. I purchased two more of those myself, so I will have swatches of those next Friday. Minstagram and Minterest are available now at http://stores.ebay.com/lynnderella-lynnderella.

MAC Skin of Evil

*Purchased by me*

Some of you may already know that my makeup collection and passion for makeup is equal to my love of nail polish. So I was super excited when MAC announced their Star Trek collection! I ordered a couple of items from the collection, including MAC Skin of Evil nail polish! Skin of Evil is really unique yellow-green shimmer with large black glitter. In some lighting the shimmer looks more golden, and more green in others. The shimmer is gorgeous, it glows! This polish is probably not for everyone, but I'm glad I got it. It's very unique and it will be perfect around Halloween!

This is two coats. It built up pretty nicely. In person, I could not see any VNL, but my camera picked up on a bit. To the naked eye, the shimmer makes this look more opaque and also it makes the black glitter look smoother, so the overall effect in person is nicer. It was fairly easy to apply. Sometimes the black glitters clumped up a bit, but they were easy enough to separate.

MAC Skin of Evil is available now at MAC counters and stores, as well as maccosmetics.com. There are also two other nail polishes in the Star Trek collection, a silver and a gold sparkle. I might want to grab the gold sparkle too!!

Lynnderella Friday, Vol. 42!

 *Sent for review*

Happy Friday!!!!! I have had a crazy week so I am especially glad it's Friday! And I absolutely LOVE every polish I'm showing you today, they make me so happy! Lynnderella We'd Love the Weeds is a bright grass green with chartreuse holo microglitter. It is a great yellow-leaning green and perfect for warm sunny days ahead! I love chartreuse polishes and this vivid holo glitter one is unique in my collection for sure.

This is two easy coats, although it was nearly opaque in one coat! It was a little thicker, but not hard to apply. I'm finding Lynnderella's newer polishes to be very opaque like this one, but a little thicker than older ones (but again, it applied quite nicely!).

This photo below is not color accurate at all, but I wanted to post it so you can see the holo glitter!

Lynnderella Vamp Stamp is a sultry black shimmer filled with red sparkles and tiny silver micro flakes. The little red nanoglitters make this one so special, they really pop out of the blackened base. This is a great edgy looking glitter!

This was two easy coats again! I did use two coats of top coat here to make it glossy and smooth.

Different lighting to show the sparkles:

Lynnderella All At Sea with Amphitrite is a special edition polish from the Goddess series. If you remember, last year, Lynn had a zodiac series. This year she is making a polish every month inspired by a goddess. Amphitrite is a Greek goddess, the wife of Poseidon and the queen of the sea. Amphitrite the nail polish is an "intensely holographic pastel aqua with assorted holographic accents—starfish, nano starfish babies, lightening bolts and mini hearts". This polish is INSANELY holo in good lighting. Unfortunately, I took these pictures during the two weeks of gross rainy days we just had, so it's hard to see here. I got so many compliments when I wore this!

This is two coats and it was nicely opaque. Good formula too!

Lynnderella A Dore La Rose is a beautiful rose gold shimmer with gold holo microglitter. It's a warm wash of golden pinky/almost peachy shimmer on your nails and the holo glitter pops out nicely too.

This is two coats of this one as well! I thought it would need more than that, since it is a shimmer, but it had nice coverage.

Most of these are available right now on lynnderella.com. If you're looking for All At Sea with Amphitrite, email lynnderellalacquer@gmail.com to check on the availability of that or anything else!
