NerdLacquer Aureate

 *Purchased by me*

Did you know that January is the most depressing month of the year? I did for sure, it's my least favorite month by far. I hate when the holidays are over and winter seems like such a long, dark slog. To counteract the gloom this week, I decided to wear the blingiest polish I could get my hands on- NerdLacquer Aureate! Aureate is a spectacular warm gold glitter bomb. Amanda from NerdLacquer describes it as having a "super fined grained bronze metallic base, gold glitter, teeny black specks for contrast and depth". Its so warm and bright and is just like jewelry for your nails. I got a ton of compliments on it yesterday.

Despite being very glittery, this doesn't feel too rough. I did just one layer of top coat. For complete smoothness, I would probably recommend two layers. Aureate was also very smooth to apply and unlike many glitter polishes, it is wearing very well so far. I'm on day 3 and it stills looks perfect.

NerdLacquer Aureate is not on the NerdLacquer site, but you can order it by emailing Amanda at info@nerdlacquer.com. I am hoping she will make a silver with the exact same finish, I really love this!! Also, my order came crazily fast, I actually couldn't believe how fast.

Check out more NerdLacquer at nerdlacquer.com.

Adorable Crystal Bows from Born Pretty Store!

As soon as I stumbled across these adorable yellow crystal bows on Born Pretty Store, I knew I had to have them!! I like to peruse Born Pretty Store for interesting and different nail art ideas, and these bows certainly qualify! Occasionally, I like to try out some wild nail looks that are not at all practical and really would only last you for a party or special event. These bows are definitely not practical to wear for 4 or 5 days, but for an evening (say a Halloween costume party?), I would do it!!

I used China Glaze Champagne Bubbles from last year's holiday collection for my nail color. To take these pictures, I just used an extra blob of top coat on my nail and on the back of the bows to attach them to my nails. If I were wearing these for an evening, I would use a dab of nail glue (also available at Born Pretty Store) or maybe even Elmer's Glue.

Impractical as they may be, I LOVE these yellow bows! If wearing them on your nails doesn't sound like fun, you can also use them to decorate various things. I'm thinking about decorating a little box that sits on top of my Helmer with these cuties!

These yellow gold crystal bows and more nail art goodies are available online at Born Pretty Store. Don't forget to use the code ERJ61 for 10% off of your order!!

Nail de Royale

Hi all, just wanted to share with you a nail supply store I'd never heard of until recently, Nail de Royale. They sell a lot of polish, OPI, Nubar, Essie, CND, etc., but I think the best things they sell are their nail art supplies.

Check out these glitters by Erikonail... OMG would they be amazing for frankening or what??? The metallic blue green and garnet brown glitters are really calling my name. Nail de Royale also sells a HUGE variety of Swarovski crystals. When you start seeing blinged out nails on this blog every day, you can blame this website. I think some of the dark fall colors with Swarovski crystals may have to happen for me.

So, has anyone heard of/ordered from Nail de Royale? What would you franken using their delicious glitters?
