New LE Lynnderella It's Par for the Course

*Sent for review*

This new LE polish from Lynnderella is genius! I am pretty easily excited by nail polish, but this one makes me giddy. Lynnderella It's Par for the Course contains fine grass green glitter, green and black bar glitter, yellow triangle glitter, and white circle glitter. The green glitters are like the grass on a golf course, the triangles are like little yellow tees and the white circles are perfect golf balls! I really marvel at Lynn's creativity. A golf-themed polish with golf balls and tees, I love it! I'm not really into golf, but I am into green polish and clever names, so this is a huge hit for me.

It's Par for the Course was easy to apply. The bar glitters were pretty cooperative as far as bar glitters go, they lay nice and flat. There is a enough glitter in here that you could probably wear it alone in 3-4 coats, but I did one coat over Revlon Posh. I did fish around a bit for a few of the yellow triangles and white circles. They don't come out with every dip of the brush, but they aren't too hard to fish out.

If you're a green polish lover or a fan of golf, this polish is a must have! It's probably my favorite green Lynnderella since Salad Days. I have a huge collection of green Lynnderellas, so that's saying something! It's Par for the Course and other Lynnderella lacquers can be purchased at lynnderella.com and the new Lynnderella Storenvy. It's Christmas Eve!! Here are some Lynnderella Holiday Manis!

*Some items sent for review, please see end of post for a list*

Well, it's Christmas Eve day. That means I had better get my butt out to some stores to do my Christmas shopping, I might want to finish decorating the tree, and maybe I think about wrapping presents too (although I never really do that until around midnight on Christmas Eve). But instead of getting going on those projects, I'm going to show you some of my recent holiday Lynnderella manis! This green treat is Lynnderella Do You See What I See?, a core polish from last year's Season's Glitterings collection that is now being discontinued (more on that at the end of the post). I layered it over Revlon Posh.

Lynnderella Garnet Grace came out this summer in the Talismans and Birthstones collection and it is STUNNING! I'm copying Lynnderella's description for this one because it's a surprisingly complex mix of glitter. She says it's a "dense mix of red, burgundy and purple accented with green and orange microglitter in a clear base". This is one coat of Chanel Taboo. Garnet Grace is also being discontinued.

Next up we have a Lynn classic, Happy HoloDaze!, the perfect holiday glitter bomb mix of red, green and holo silver assorted glitters. This one is from the Holiday Houseguests collection two years ago I believe and I don't think it's around anymore. If you ever see it for sale/swap, I absolutely recommend picking it up. This is over Zoya Tomoko.

Finally we have Lynnderella Season's Glitterings, another perfect holiday glitter mix from last year's Season's Glitterings collection. This is probably my favorite Christmas polish ever. It has red and green, I feel like you need those in a Christmas polish, but it also has other colors and a ton of tiny holo glitter to add interest. This is over OPI This Gown Needs a Crown. Season's Glitterings is another beauty that is being discontinued.

*Some items sent for review, please see end of post for a list*

Now, don't panic, I believe all of the polishes on the discontinued list are still available right now. They won't stick around forever, but I think if you just send Paul a message on eBay, you'll find that you can still get them. I did purchase several polishes from this year's holiday collection, but I haven't quite gotten around to wearing them yet. A lot of them are not too holiday specific, so I'll be showing you them in a later post. Lynnderella polish is available at lynnderella.com.

I want to wish all of my readers a Merry Christmas and happy, relaxing holiday season! Thank you so much for reading, I never imagined having this many readers when I started this blog. I will be taking a few days off from posting, but I should be back by the weekend with some polishes that are NOT red and green, haha!

Revlon Haute Tropics Collection Part 2!

Base: one coat Nicole by OPI Base Coat Plus
Color: three coats Revlon Secluded Beach
Top: one coat Poshe
Application: good (out of poor, average, good, excellent)
The Revlon Haute Tropics collection was sent for review. All opinions are my own honest thoughts.

Revlon Secluded Beach is a pretty pinky-purple-y nude taupe kind of color. It's a nice alternative to pink or nude for work, as it has a bit more interest, but is still very subdued. There is a lot of gorgeous purple shimmer in the bottle, but it really doesn't show up on the nails. I only caught a glimpse of it in direct sun and even then it wasn't too noticeable. I like this color for when I need a non-flashy manicure, but if I could see the purple shimmer more I would LOVE it!! It would be an absolute knock-out with more obvious purple shimmer. It's still a pretty interesting color though, sometimes it looks more purple, other times more taupe.

Secluded Beach was pretty easy to apply, it was a little thin, but not in a bad way. I needed three coats for full opacity. It still had a hair of VNL after two coats.

Base: one coat Nicole by OPI Base Coat Plus
Color: two coats Revlon Mai Tai Ask?
Top: one coat Poshe
Application: excellent (out of poor, average, good, excellent)
The Revlon Haute Tropics collection was sent for review. All opinions are my own honest thoughts.

Being the huge sucker for orange polish that I am, I obviously love Revlon Mai Tai Ask?. Mai Tai Ask? is a gorgeous bright red-orange creme. Do I already have 14 polishes a polish this color? Probably. Does that stop me from hoarding red-oranges and wearing them constantly in the summer? No!

Mai Tai Ask? has an excellent formula. So pigmented, I used two coats, but it could almost be a thick one-coater. It is a little thicker than some of the other polishes in this collection, but I found that actually worked to it's advantage. I was able to get nice and close to the cuticle with no trouble at all.

Base: one coat Nicole by OPI Base Coat Plus
Color: three coats Revlon Hello, Bali
Top: one coat Poshe
Application: average (out of poor, average, good, excellent)
The Revlon Haute Tropics collection was sent for review. All opinions are my own honest thoughts.

Revlon Hello, Bali is an interesting red-purple crelly (creme and jelly). I was expecting it to just be a creme, but you can see it has decidedly jelly-ish tendencies. I absolutely love what Revlon was trying to do here. This particular shade of purple in a crelly finish would be stunning if the formula was a tad better. I don't think I own a crelly in a shade anything close to this, so I'm still pretty excited about this one.

Hello, Bali was very thin and runny. It flooded my cuticles a couple times during these swatches. It also was hard to get it to look even. You can see the color is more concentrated in some areas than in others. That being said, the color is gorgeous and I do love the squishy finish!

Overall, I definitely recommend checking out the Revlon Haute Tropics collection. If you missed my swatches of the first three, you can see them here. I love all three blues and the orange especially! Perfect summer colors!

The Revlon Haute Tropics collection is available now at a drugstore near you.

Revlon Haute Tropics Collection, Part One- The Blues!

Base: one coat Nicole by OPI Base Coat Plus
Color: three coats Revlon Coast Is Clear
Top: one coat Poshe
Application: good (out of poor, average, good, excellent)
The Revlon Haute Tropics collection was sent for review. All opinions are my own honest thoughts.

The Revlon Haute Tropics collection is exactly what I want in my summer polish collections. To start off with, the name "Haute Tropics" makes me imagine that I will wear these polishes during glamorous steamy summer night parties at the beach. In reality, I will be wearing them while sitting at home sweating my butt off very unglamorously, but at least I'll be admiring my nails. Secondly, this collection has six shades and three of them are blue or blue-green. WIN! Of course, I had to swatch the three blues first! The first beauty I tried was Revlon Coast Is Clear, a gorgeous pale blue-green with a light smattering of silver shimmer. Coast Is Clear is so gorgeous! This is kind of what I wished Essie Turquoise and Caicos looked like, but on me that is just a watery mess (and it's way more sheer).

I needed three coats for Coast Is Clear, it is on the sheer side. It was a champ at self-leveling though and that prevented a lot of streaks from happening. The application was good, no real problems. Any streaks that I thought would happen disappeared, thanks to the aforementioned self-leveling. (By the way, Revlon says that is from their exclusive "silk-protein shield" that instantly helps to even out the surface of the nail while smoothing away bubbles, streaks and brush marks! I say it works!).

Base: one coat Nicole by OPI Base Coat Plus
Color: three coats Revlon Lagoon Afternoon
Top: one coat Poshe
Application: good (out of poor, average, good, excellent)
The Revlon Haute Tropics collection was sent for review. All opinions are my own honest thoughts.

Revlon Lagoon Afternoon is STUNNING! Unfortunately, my pictures are NOT accurate at all. This rarely happens to me and I am so MAD. I wanted to capture Lagoon Afternoon in all of it's teal creme-y beauty and I failed. I never adjust the color of my photos when I edit (I just crop), but in this case I had to try. I would say the first photo is closest, but it is still too blue. Lagoon Afternoon is a really nice mix of green and blue, and it's very unique in my collection. My pictures make it look pretty average. Try to see this one in person, it's pretty accurate in the bottle.

This picture is color corrected and weird looking. I was trying to show you that there are green tones here!

Lagoon Afternoon applied really well and had the same great self-leveling as Coast Is Clear. I used three coats, but I probably could have done two easily. I hadn't had all of my coffee yet when I did this, so my first coat was strangely applied (my fault). Also, I LOVE the name "Lagoon Afternoon". I have always wanted to swim in a lagoon, but sadly, Connecicut is very lacking in tropical lagoons.

Base: one coat Nicole by OPI Base Coat Plus
Color: two coats Revlon Plunge Pool
Top: one coat Poshe
Application: excellent (out of poor, average, good, excellent)
The Revlon Haute Tropics collection was sent for review. All opinions are my own honest thoughts.

Revlon Plunge Pool is an amazing deep blue shimmer! This color looks like it's glowing in person!! I'm sure this isn't the most unique shade in the collection, but it's a shade of blue that always grabs me. It's deep and jewel-like, but not too dark that you want to save it for winter. The shimmer is so nice and smooth looking, it really does make me want to go swimming.

Plunge Pool has an excellent formula, it practically painted itself on my nails. It only needed two coats (it was nearly a one coater), and was easy to control. I would definitely suggest taking a look at this lovely blue.

The three blues from Revlon Haute Tropics are instant favorites for me. We all know I'm a sucker for blues, and these are lovely. Lagoon Afternoon is quite unique and the other two are shades that I can never get enough of and have good formulas to top it off. I also learned that Revlon has been free of DBP, Toulene and Formaldehyde since 1992! This is really cool, because all this time, I thought I had been wearing chemical-laden polish as a child, but I actually wore mostly Revlon polish! So, I may not develop an 11th toe later in life after all! I'll have the other three shades in this collection up in a day or so, and they look pretty nice too.

Revlon Haute Tropics is available now at drugstores and mass retailers. I just saw a full display last night at a Walgreens near me.

Revlon Lash Potion Casts a Spell on Me!

Revlon Lash Potion mascara was sent for review. All opinions are my own honest thoughts.

Revlon has a new mascara coming out in May called Revlon Lash Potion by Grow Luscious. I don't know about you, but "new mascara" is always more appealing to me than the mascaras that are currently available in stores. I don't think I have ever re-purchased a mascara from the drugstore. There are so many varieties, I really just like getting a different one (or 3) each time! Plus, I'm always looking for MORE length, MORE volume. I like a DRAMATIC mascara that says "YO, I HAVE AWESOME EYE LASHES!". Will Revlon Lash Potion be The One?

Above is a picture of my sad and lonely lashes with no mascara. It pains me to put this picture up here. My lashes are fairly long without mascara, but they are very light-colored and from any distance, are basically invisible. Therefore, I do not leave my house without mascara.

Revlon calls the Lash Potion wand the "Illusionist Wand". The Illusionist Wand is a triple groove bristle brush. Revlon says the wide grooves "instantly coat lashes in formula for maximum volume". I'm a fan of bristle brushes, rather than the rubber brushes that we have seen a lot recently. I never seem to get good volume from the rubber ones.

Revlon sent me Lash Potion in Blackest Black (it's like they know me! I always buy the blackest color, despite my see through natural lash color). These two pictures show just one coat of Revlon Lash Potion on my upper lashes. I have been wearing Lash Potion for about a week now and REALLY love it!! It is very lengthening, as you can see. It adds some volume and thickness, definitely enough for me for everyday. For special occasions, I might mix a volumizing mascara with Lash Potion for even crazier results. Since Lash Potion arrived, I have not touched my other current drugstore mascaras. Honestly, I didn't like them a lot to begin with and Lash Potion blows them out of the water.

Revlon says that Lash Potion "drenches lashes with a potion of strengthening proteins for captivating volume and length" and that the formula "conditions and moisturizes so lashes are less brittle". I do think Lash Potion provides great length and good volume, almost rivaling my beloved DiorShow. As for the claims that it moisturizes lashes, I have noticed that I don't seem to be shedding as many lashes when I remove my make-up at night. I don't know if that's necessarily connected to this mascara, but I'll take it!

Check out my complete EOTD above, with Lash Potion on both top and bottom lashes. Revlon Lash Potion comes in blackest black, black, and blackened brown. It also comes in a waterproof version in blackest black and blackened brown. I tried the non-waterproof version and wore it to several very hot dance classes with no running or streaking. I also never had any flaking with this mascara (thank goodness, I can't STAND that!).

I honestly think I will purchase this mascara when it comes out in May. As I said before, I normally don't get the same mascara twice, but I've had a bad streak with mascaras recently and it's nice to find a good one! Revlon Lash Potion will retail for $7.99 and be available at drugstores and mass retailers, as well as on revlon.com.

Born Pretty Store Studs!!

It's already March 9th and I have yet to post a green mani here for St. Patrick's Month!!! I had to fix that problem quick with Revlon Posh. I decided to add a few nail studs to the look for fun! I got these 4mm nail art studs at Born Pretty Store, and let me just say, it was really hard to pick which studs to get. Born Pretty Store has a HUGE selection of different sized gold and silver studs, colored studs, and studs of all different shapes, including hearts and stars!! You can view the full selection here. I am eyeing the black ones next!

These studs are the 4mm variety, and I probably would go for the 2mm size next. I have very small nail beds, so I think that would be the best size for me. 4mm are probably perfect if your nails are longer and wider than mine! These were super easy to apply. I just dabbed some top coat on the back and positioned them on my nails with tweezers. If you want a longer lasting hold, some nail glue would work perfectly.

What do you think about my St. Patrick's Day studs? I think they're super fun for a day! They actually stayed on a whole day and didn't seem to catch on my hair or clothes. They're a lot easier to wear than I thought they'd be. I would definitely wear them again for a party or fun occasion.

These studs and many more nail studs are available at Born Pretty Store.

Lynnderella Huevos, Ladies?

Base: one coat CND Stickey
Color: two coats Revlon Posh, two coats Lynnderella Huevos, Ladies?
Top: one coat Gelous, one coat Poshe
Application: good (out of poor, average, good, excellent)

I've been hanging on to these pictures for awhile. You can see by my Purse Forum name on the above picture, I posted them elsewhere before posting them here. I almost hate to post LE Lynnderellas, because I feel "anonymous" will have something to say about it. But I recently resolved to post any LEs I get for a few reasons. One, there aren't a lot of great swatches of some Lynnderella LEs available, so I'd like to share them for anyone who might be interested. Two, I love them and it's my blog. So this beauty is Lynnderella Huevos, Ladies?, my number one Lynn LE lemming for ages! I managed to snag this for a reasonable price a few months ago and was thrilled to finally get it. The mix of yellow and white glitter in a clear base is so gorgeous to my yellow-loving heart!

This is two dabbed coats of Huevos, Ladies? over Revlon Posh. The glitter in this is so plentiful and comes out very easily. The larger shapes also laid pretty flat. Overall, I am just as obsessed with this as I thought I'd be! This looks like spring over the green, doesn't it?

Lynnderella polishes are available at her eBay store. LE polishes are sold in a auction style format.

Revlon Black With Envy

Revlon Black With Envy isn't a new polish, but it is new to me!! Black With Envy is another one of Revlon's fine Chanel dupes. This one is said to be a dupe for Chanel Black Pearl, although I don't own it, so I can't be sure. The Chanel polish didn't look unique enough for me to drop $25, but this Revlon is well worth the price!!

I actually was never able to find this polish in a drugstore near me. The lovely Emily of Squared Nails sent it to me recently and I'm so happy she did! Black With Envy is a beautiful gunmetal black/grey shimmer. The shimmer can look kind of rainbow-y at times, depending on the light. Other times there is a strong green cast. I don't own anything like this and I'm really quite glad I have it now!

This is three coats and application was fairly good. It seemed like the polish was pulling away from the tips of my nails, so I needed to apply a bit more to the tips. If you always wrap your tips, this shouldn't matter. This is a great fall/winter polish to own and I can definitely see myself wearing it multiple times.

Revlon Black With Envy may still be available at a drugstore near you, so look around!
