Happy Halloween with Sally Hansen and Rimmel!!

Happy Halloween!!!!! Hope everyone had a fun Halloweekend and maybe got a chance to dress up, because that's the best part of Halloween! Sally Hansen and Rimmel London sent me some products (both new and old) recently that are just perfect for Halloween. I used some in my Halloween mani (above) and others over the weekend for a costume party. Let's start with my NOTD- a graveyard scene with a twinkling gradient night sky. For the tombstones, I used my favorite tombstone vinyls from What's Up Nails and Sally Hansen Hooked on Onyx. It was important to me to have a really pigmented jet black polish for these, as you really can't do a second coat with vinyls, and Hooked on Onyx worked perfectly here.

For the night sky gradient, I used one coat of OPI Angel with a Lead Foot, then sponged on OPI I Saw... U Saw... We Saw... Warsaw and OPI Reach for the Sky. I topped it off with one layer of China Glaze Fairy Dust before adding the tombstones. Love love love the finished product and super happy that I had some time to do this for Halloween!

Over the weekend I wore this easy mani. This is two coats of Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Blacky O, with freehand designs using the new Sally Hansen I 💛 Nail Art Pen in Orange. This pen is probably the best nail art pen I have ever used. Usually I find them to be kind of a pain, either the polish doesn't come out enough or it floods your nail and ruins any design you might be going for. This one is just right, enough polish comes out to write or draw, but not so much that you can't control where it's going. I did this in a huge rush and it still came out half way decent for me and freehand designs haha.

My pinky nail is supposed to be googly eyes but I didn't really have enough room. Don't judge.

Rimmel London also has two great new products that are perfect for Halloween makeup. Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lip Color in Pitch Black is a super black matte liquid lipstick (top pumpkin swatch in the picture above). It is a very saturated black color. I am not the world's best applier of matte liquid lipstick, but it was pretty easy to work with and didn't dry down so quickly that it became patchy. I just had trouble smoothing out the edges and couldn't figure out what to use as a liner! My new favorite Rimmel product is the Scandaleyes Bold eye liner (bottom pumpkin and line swatch in above picture). It has a very cool innovative round tip that I found to really help me apply the liner evenly. I wore this liner over the weekend and it lasted perfectly, no flaking or smudging at all. It's very very black too, which I prefer!

Zoya Sophisticates Fall 2017 Lipsticks!

Today I have the Zoya Sophisticates lipsticks for your viewing enjoyment!  I have been really feeling Zoya's lipsticks and I am glad they are releasing more of them now. They are typically a lovely formula, creamy and comfortable to wear. I have dry lips and they feel moisturizing when I wear them. I also love that they included a blue lipstick in this collection!

Zoya Lucky is described as a "vibrant cool toned pink". It's a nice fuchsia that has a bit of sheerness to it, so it's not such a heavy punch of color. It looks fresh and really brightens up my face.

Zoya Layne is described as a "medium dusty rose". It leans towards a nude rose on me and I am in love with this one! It's a perfect shade for when you want something polished and professional, but you want something more flattering than a true nude. The hint of rose is perfect and looks more alive than a nude.

Zoya Izzy is described as a "deep fuchsia". Strangely enough, in my arm swatches, I feel like this looks like almost a coral color. But once it is on my lips, it is definitely a raspberry pink, maybe with a bit of warmth to it. This is probably because my arm is as white as a piece of paper so the color looks totally different 😂.

Zoya Bristol is described as a "medium wine tone". This one seems a bit brighter to me than a wine, but it may be the undertones of my lips causing it to turn more pink. It's a very pretty color though, nice and flattering.

Zoya Addie is described as a "pinky nude apricot" and that is a perfect description. This is a great nude for me, a little pink, a little warm, not too corpse-looking. Gorgeous!

If you're feeling daring, Zoya Tommy is a "saturated blurple". This is a great blue with some hints of purple. It took a few more swipes than the other colors for full coverage. The others really apply well in one or two swipes, this took more like 3 or 4. Love the color on me though!

Zoya Maggie is described as a "deep berry". I really love this one too, it's SO perfect for fall. It has that vampy berry look and is such a juicy looking shade. I can't wait to wear this one!

Overall, I can highly recommend these lipsticks. They apply well, are comfortable to wear, and last a good amount of time for cream finish lipsticks. They are all available now at zoya.com!

Zoya Wanderlust Lipsticks!

I can't believe that I am just getting around to showing you the gorgeous lipsticks that came out with the Zoya Wanderlust Summer 2017 collection. I had a weird bout of really dry lips this summer, which is very strange considering summer is usually not a time I get dry skin. Luckily, these lipsticks are great for any time of the year!

Zoya Kay is described as a "creamy sheer red". It's a nice "my lips but better" type of color, just adds a hint of color and shine. It leans more pink on me than true red. The finish is a really lovely healthy looking shine. I typically wear stronger eye makeup rather than bold lip colors, so this is the kind of shade I will use a lot.

Zoya Kirby is described as a "bright sheer watermelon pink". It's a gorgeous juicy pink, very flattering! Kirby packs a bit more pigment than Kay, but it's still not an in-your-face type of color. If you're looking for a nice hint of bright color, this is a great lipstick for you.

Zoya Kitty is described as a "neutral shimmering pink". The shimmer is almost like a metallic looking shimmer, which is pretty on trend right now. The color leans a little purple-y pink on me, maybe like mauve almost. I found all three of these lipsticks to be very comfortable to wear and moderately hydrating, more so than the average lipstick.
