Dr.'s Remedy Fresh Start Collection for Fall 2016!

*Sent for review*

Dr.'s Remedy has three lovely new cremes and I have swatches of them for you today! First up is Dr.'s Remedy AMITY Amethyst, a smoky purple creme. This is one of those purples that has a good amount of taupe-y-ness to it and feels like a neutral with an edge. It's more exciting than a standard neutral, but is still appropriate for a wide variety of situations and some work place environments as well. This is a great color year round, but I especially like it for the winter months. It makes me feel cozy!

This is two super easy coats. AMITY Amethyst is so pigmented, you could most likely do just one coat, depending on your application. It was perfectly self-leveling and has a great smooth formula. I used one coat of Dr.'s Remedy top coat, but it was shiny enough on it's own.

Dr.'s Remedy KINETIC Khaki is a taupe creme with hints of green and gray. This is pretty much my perfect taupe creme. It's in that mystery zone- is it gray? Is it greenish? It's a really great neutral with some interest.

This is also two coats and again, if you do thicker coats, you could possibly get away with one coat. Application was a breeze. I used Dr.'s Remedy top coat for that extra shine, but again, it was fairly shiny alone.

Lastly, we have a great shade for autumn and the coming holiday season, Dr.'s Remedy ALTRUISTIC Auburn. This rusty red creme reminds me of old tobacco barns here in CT. It's very warm and has both burnt orange and rust red tones. In person, I think it's a little more murky/dusty feeling than it comes across in these pictures. It has a more earthy feel.

Two easy coats again! These really have a great formula and are so pleasant to work with.

Vapid Sweaters n' Denim

*Purchased by me*

Today I have my first ever polish from Vapid Lacquer for your viewing enjoyment. I started seeing a lot of ISOs for this polish in various Facebook polish groups, so I had to find out what was so great about it. Turns out it really is AMAZING!!! Vapid Sweaters n' Denim is a thermal polish that changes from a deep cornflower blue with tons of rosy copper shimmer (cold) to a golden nude with rosy copper shimmer (warm). The cold color is basically my dream contrast shimmer polish. The shimmer pops so much against the dusky blue and you can see it in all lighting situations. It's not one of those where you have to go searching for the shimmer. I have been dreaming of a polish like this for a long time!!

My order came with a Vapid logo sticker, an adorable mini panda and some Starburst (not pictured because I ate them!).

^OMG.... Just look at it. Drooooooool!

Above you can see Sweaters n' Denim in a mostly warm state. It was really cold when I took these pictures, so it kept wanting to change back. But it's a beautiful warm nude and the shimmer is still very prominent. I love how drastic the change is between the cold and warm colors. It's not one of those thermals where you're trying to figure out what the difference is.

This is two super easy coats. This polish was just flawless to apply. It has a nice big brush, so you can cover the nail in about two strokes and it's a nicely shaped brush, so I actually didn't do any clean-up here. If all Vapids are like this one, I am buying 45 more.

Vapid Sweaters n' Denim will be restocked this Friday (Black Friday) on http://vapid.mybigcommerce.com. Check out Vapid's Facebook page for more restock info.

ILNP Timeless Vow

*purchased by me*

My love affair with ILNP continues today with I Love Nail Polish Timeless Vow. Timeless Vow is a super unique dusty sage green with gold flakes and linear holographic pigment. The green base is kind of minty-ish, with some hints of grey. The holo in this is extremely holographic and rainbow-y in the sun, but I did keep catching holo flashes indoors too. That's why my next picture in is such dim lighting- I wanted to show you what it looks like without a lot of light.

I love how it looks here too! Timeless Vow is not a one trick pony! Unlike some holo polishes, this is unique and stunning in low indoor lighting too! The golden flakes really pop against the shimmering  pale green background. (Also- sorry about the lobster hands in all of these pictures. They didn't look so lobster-y in person!)

Timeless Vow was easy to apply and I used three thin coats in these pictures. I didn't have to do any clean-up here at all. The first coat seemed sheer, but it definitely built up to full opacity in three coats.

*purchased by me*

I grabbed Timeless Vow during the preorder, but it should be available on ILNP.com sometime in the next few weeks, with the rest of the spring collection.

OPI Hawaii- 3 Very A-Peeling Polishes!

*sent for review*

Today I have three more of the lovely OPI Hawaii Spring/Summer 2015 polishes for you, starting off with OPI Hello Hawaii Ya?. Hello Hawaii Ya? is a dusty greyed-out purple creme. It's a nice deep lilac color, but with a little bit of an edgy neutral feel, thanks to the grey tones.

This is two easy coats of Hello Hawaii Ya?. The formula was nicely pigmented and easy to work with. I really liked this color with my skin tone a lot, but I think it will flatter other skin tones as well!

OPI Lost My Bikini in Molokini is a bright blue-toned purple creme. I wouldn't call this "blurple", but it definitely has cooler blue undertones to it. This is really pretty for spring and summer! It's bright and cheery, but not neon. I think a lot of purple cremes I own are either darker or lighter, or just not as bright and clean. This seems unique and definitely worthy of a permanent home in one of my purple drawers.

Lost My Bikini in Molokini was super easy to apply and had a great formula. Two easy coats and you're done! That little dot on my middle nail is a drop of water from a melting icicle by the way, haha! I thought I had wiped it all off my hand until I got inside, removed this polish and then looked at the pictures :/.

OPI Pineapples Have Peelings Too! is the lone glitter in this collection. It's a very unique and different polish for OPI. It has a frosty pale yellow gold base with glitters in various bright colors and different sizes. The base color of this reminds me of an old Revlon Street Wear polish I used to have and LOVE, so nostalgia is making me like this one! The fun colored glitters and the pale yellow also are giving me an Easter egg vibe, and I might have to sport this on Easter this year!

This is three thin coats of Pineapples Have Peelings Too!. It was pretty easy to apply, although I think a lot of the larger glitters in my bottle kind of sunk to the bottom. I kind of like it with only a small smattering of larger glitters. With one coat of top coat, I found this to be smooth to the touch and not lumpy looking in person.

I had to give Pineapples Have Peelings Too! some more love, so I paired it with OPI I Just Can't Cope-acabana. This is two coats of I Just Can't Cope-acabana with Pineapples Have Peelings Too! dabbed on. I used a makeup sponge and concentrated the larger glitters at the base of my nails, and then dabbed some of the small glitters out towards the tips. I think this look is really fun! I only wore it for these swatches, but I'm going to have to wear it as a full mani this week, it's too cute.

*sent for review*

The two purple cremes in this collection are really fabulous and must haves for any purple lover like myself. I really like Pineapples Have Peelings Too! more than I expected to based on other swatches I saw. I can't wait to wear it over I Just Can't Cope-acabana this week!

The OPI Hawaii collection is available now at Ulta, ulta.com, and fine salons.

SinfulColors SinfulShine Set the Mood

Base: one coat Nicole by OPI Base Coat Plus
Color: two coats SinfulColors SinfulShine Set the Mood
Top: none
Application: excellent (out of poor, average, good, excellent)
SinfulColors Set the Mood was sent for review. All opinions are my own honest thoughts.

Honestly, when I first heard about SinfulColors SinfulShines and their claims of a "self-curing polymer formula that delivers the same high gloss as an acrylic UV cured gel" and a polish that is "five times more glossy than a patent leather shoe", I was doubtful. But the proof is in the pudding, and the pudding is currently on my nails. If SinfulColors Set the Mood were any shinier, I would be able to see my reflection in my nails. Set the Mood is a lovely dusty blue-teal creme that packs even more shine (if that's possible) than SinfulColors Bananappeal. Or maybe it's just more apparent with darker colors!

Set the Mood was a complete dream to apply. That gel formula allowed for perfect control and this baby only needed two coats for total opacity. You really could probably do one careful coat, but I almost never manage that. This is without any top coat and I love how glossy it looks. Gorgeous! I have not tested the wear time on these SinfulShines, but I will get back to you on that. Generally, SinfulColors polishes wear well on me.

You will definitely be seeing more SinfulShine polishes here on Never Enough Nails. I smell an addiction coming on. SinfulShines are available at Walgreens and Walgreens.com.

Zoya PixieDust Swatches Part One!

Base: none
Color: four coats Zoya Vespa
Top: none (unless otherwise indicated)
Application: good (out of poor, average, good, excellent)

The Zoya PixieDust polishes have looked the most appealing to me out of all of the new textured polishes all along, and the first three I swatched today didn't let me down. Zoya's version of the matte texture polish trend are sugary fine glitters that dry down to that cool-looking matte, yet sparkly finish. I first tried Zoya Vespa, a dusty mint with silver sparkle. Vespa is a gorgeous soft muddy mint color and the texture finish along with the color is very unique.

I did find Vespa to be quite sheer though, much more sheer than I was expecting. I used four thin coats in these pictures. The first coat was so sheer, it was more like a delicate hint of sparkle than anything else. Vespa applied pretty easily, it just needed a bunch of coats!

These next two pictures show Vespa with one coat of Gelous. Vespa looks very pretty with shiny top coat too!! I actually almost like it better with top coat.

Base: none
Color: three coats Zoya Nyx
Top: none (unless otherwise indicated)
Application: good (out of poor, average, good, excellent)

Zoya Nyx, a pale periwinkle blue with silver sparkle, was more pigmented than Vespa, but still needed three coats. Nyx has the same dusty and soft quality as Vespa. These are two colors that are kind of in between colors and neutrals. I think many people will find them very wearable. It's a great way to try out this textured trend, because the colors are soft and pretty.

Nyx was still a bit more sheer than I was expecting these to be, but it's three coats were more reasonable to me than Vespa's four. Nyx applied very nicely and I had no complaints about the formula.

The next two pictures show Nyx with one coat of Gelous. These all are definite top coat eaters, so you will need a few coats of regular top coat, or something thick like Gelous, to make them smooth and shiny.

Base: none
Color: two coats Zoya Chyna
Top: none (unless otherwise indicated)
Application: excellent (out of poor, average, good, excellent)

Zoya Chyna is my favorite of the three PixieDust polishes I tried today!! Chyna is a ruby slippers red matte sparkle. This makes me think of the Wizard of Oz straightaway, more than other polishes with names like "ruby slippers". I don't think Chyna had quite dried down completely when I took these pictures, but it is just as matte when fully dry as the others. I was losing daylight and these do take a bit to dry (more on that at the end).

Chyna was very pigmented, almost opaque in one coat! I used two for these swatches. This is more of the pigmentation level I was expecting from the others. Lovely formula, the best formula of a textured polish I have tried thus far.

The next two pictures so Chyna in it's gorgeous shiny state, with one coat of Gelous. OMG so pretty!

I LOVE these PixieDust polishes so far. This kind of texture is so nice and sugary fine, it's no more rough than your average glitter. I love polishes that dry matte anyway, and matte glitter is always a personal favorite. I do have to tell you that I feel like these take forever to dry. I am not sure why these new textured polishes are all taking so long to completely dry down. Many regular glitters and mattes dry much faster than regular polish, so it just seems funny to me. I waited 10 minutes for Nyx to dry, thought it was dry, and then smudged it when getting ready to take pictures. That's kind of a long time for it to still be smudgeable. I will definitely still wear these, I just need to make a mental note not to use them when I'm in a hurry.

The Zoya PixieDust collection is available now on Zoya.com.
