Sally Hansen Silver Elements Magnetic Polish

Quick wrap up of the last few posts here on Never Enough Nails: I "hated" magnetic polish, then I actually tried some, now I love it. That leads me to today's post featuring the lovely Sally Hansen Silver Elements magnetic polish. Silver Elements is a shimmery silver polish that develops dark silver and white accents after you use the magnet.

Now, if you read my post about Sally Hansen Polar Purple, you know that the Sally Hansen magnetic polishes have a little plastic guide just next to the magnet on the cap. You rest this guide actually on your skin, so that the magnet is super close to your nail, but not touching your wet polish. I did a little experiment here, just so you could see. On my pointer finger, I held the magnet close to my nail, but did not have the guide touching my skin. For all the other nails, I had the guide touch, as directed. You can see how much clearer and darker the magnet patten is on the nails I used the guide for. Definitely use the handy tool Sally Hansen put there for ya!

Overall, the Sally Hansen magnetic polishes are easy to use, gorgeous, and the magnets work quite well. I highly recommend them if you're in the market for a magnetic polish!

Sally Hansen Golden Conduct Magnetic Polish

When I tried Sally Hansen Polar Purple Magnetic Polish, I had a revelation. All this time, I've been thinking I wouldn't like magnetic polish, but I actually do!! Then I tried Sally Hansen Golden Conduct and now I LOOOOVE magnetic polish!!! Golden Conduct is a gorgeous golden bronze shimmery polish and the shade alone is lovely. Then you place the magnet on top and get a REALLY COOL white magnetic effect!!

I feel like the magnetic design on these polishes is usually black or some non-color dark color. I was pleasantly surprised when the design on this polish turned this cool white/silver color. Neat!!!! I guess Polar Purple had some white, but it was surrounded on the edges with dark color. This is just the bronze-y gold base and shining white!

The shimmer in this polish is like a large fleck kind of shimmer too. I am totally in love with Golden Conduct!! This is also a perfect fall shade, so I know I'll be rocking it when it starts to get chilly!

Sally Hansen Polar Purple Magnetic Polish!

I recently received three of the Sally Hansen Magnetic Nail Colors for review, and I was excited to try them out! I admit, I haven't been into the magnetic polish trend, so this was my first experience with magnetic polish. Sally Hansen was a great choice for my first try, as the polish is easy to use and they provide clear directions right on the bottle. I decided to try Sally Hansen Polar Purple first.

I followed the directions exactly, starting by applying one coat of base coat and then one coat of the polish to all 10 nails. Then, I applied a second coat of polish to only one nail and held the magnet over just that nail for 10 seconds. The Sally Hansen polishes have a plastic guide that sticks up over the magnet and you actually rest that guide on your finger, just below your cuticle. That way, the magnet won't actually touch your polish, but it gets really close to the nail. I think that little guide is a brilliant invention, as you don't have to try to hold the magnet close without smudging your polish. You can actually set the guide down on your finger.

The magnet worked really well and I love the swoopy pattern it created. The polish itself is actually really beautiful too, so nice and shimmery.

After using Sally Hansen Polar Purple, I can't really figure out why I didn't like magnetic polish earlier! It's easy to do and looks really cool. I will definitely be wearing these a lot, and I hope the trend lasts for awhile since I'm just getting into it! If you're like me and think you don't like this trend, you should pick up one of the Sally Hansens. It's a budget-friendly way to test out the look, and maybe discover that you actually like it!

FROM SALLY HANSEN

THINK: Magnetic Appeal.

WHAT THEY ARE: Create a gorgeous 3D nail art effect in just seconds using these magnetic polishes. This unique formula has been specially developed with metallic particles to create a pattern on the nail using magnetic forces. As the magnet is held over the nail, the iron filings in the formula gravitate toward the magnet forming the pattern/design secretly hidden in the magnet for an astonishing finish!

Applies in 2 Steps:

Step 1 – Apply 1 coat of base coat. Shake Magnetic Nail Color to activate. Remove overcap with magnet and set aside. Apply 1 coat of Magnetic Nail Color to all 10 nails and let dry.

Step 2 – Apply a thick second coat of color to 1 nail and immediately hold the built-in magnet over the nail. Rest the guide just below the cuticle without touching the wet nail polish. Hold for 10 seconds. Repeat for all 10 nails and let dry. Finish with a top coat.
