OPI Nordic Collection Swatches Part 1!!

*Sent for review*

To start the work week off right, I have six of the Fall 2014 OPI Nordic Collection polishes for you today! I always really look forward to the OPI Fall collection. OPI gets fall right year after year, and this collection is no exception. OPI With a Nice Finnish is a gorgeous golden copper metallic. It's a soft burnished kind of metallic, not a space age kind of look. The color is somewhere right between gold and copper, not too red toned, but not straight up yellow gold. It's a lovely glowy polish that I think will complement many skin tones.

This is just two coats of OPI With a Nice Finnish. It was smooth and easy too apply, no complaints! I can see some brushstrokes in the pictures, but I didn't really notice them in person.

OPI Ice-Bergers & Fries is a rich warm brown creme. It has a reddish undertone to it, but doesn't lean orange. It makes me think of a warm wood color, like a lighter mahogany. This is a great brown creme for fall, I'll definitely wear it quite a bit.

Ice-Bergers & Fries was easy to apply and has a great formula. Two coats is all you need for full coverage.

If you're wondering how Ice-Bergers compares to OPI A Piers to Be Tan from OPI San Francisco, I've included a comparison. A Piers is much more on the orange side than Ice-Bergers. Ice-Bergers looks richer and is more brown by comparison. This is two coats of both polishes.

OPI Going My Way or Norway? is a lovely camel colored creme. This kind of light caramel tan shade really screams fall and winter, like camel colored wool coats. I did start to compare this to OPI San Tan-tonio, but it started raining, so I don't have a picture. They are not dupes, San Tan-tonio is a very neutral tan, almost flat looking. Going My Way or Norway? is richer and warmer. I prefer Going My Way or Norway? on my slightly warm-leaning skin, but cooler skin tones might prefer San Tan-tonio.

This is two coats of Going My Way or Norway?. Not to sound like a broken record, but the formula of all of these were great, just two coats and smooth application. I see some bubbles in these pics, but that is definitely my top coat, not the polish.

OPI Can't Afjord Not To is a gorgeous apricot creme. This color manages to be soft and a bit bright at the same time. It's more muted than the orange cremes of summer, but it's a nice pop of color for fall when everything tends to go neutral or vampy. I am always a fan of orange polish, and I think this peachy orange might be appealing even to those who aren't big fans of straight-up orange. It has a more flattering tone than some true oranges.

Again, two coats, lovely formula!

I was very pleasantly surprised by the sole glitter in the collection. OPI has done a lot of lovely silver glitter toppers in the last year or so and I was expecting OPI My Voice Is a Little Norse to be just that. However, this is a mix of small silver holo squares, round glitter, and teeny little silver sparkles in a sheer gray base. The gray base allows this to be worn all alone in just 3 coats! I am very please to say that this can definitely be a stand alone polish and it is gorgeous when worn that way. The holo glitter really pops. I love this way more than I thought I would!

This is three coats and it's a tad more opaque in person than in the pictures. I was very happy with the coverage at three medium thick coats. If you have longer nails, you may opt for four coats. My Voice Is a Little Norse applied really well. The glitter was plentiful and the base was just the right thickness.

OPI How Great Is Your Dane? is one of those great smokey neutral shades that OPI does for fall. It's kind of a mix of gray, taupe, brown and plum with a hazy, smokey look to it. I probably have some similar shades, but I never seem to mind acquiring more of these types of colors. They act as a neutral but also look a bit edgier than your standard nude color. I can't wait to wear this on my toes in the fall. I think this will be my first official fall pedi!

This ended up being three coats for me. I might have been rushing a bit, as it was about to start pouring rain, but I had a streaky patch or two after the first two coats. The formula seemed like the same nice consistency as the others in this collection though, so this could have been my fault.

I should have the other six polishes from the OPI Nordic collection up in a day or two. I am anxious to try them all. Fall is definitely my favorite polish season! This collection will be available at professional salons, Ulta, and ulta.com in August. Some people have already seen it at their local salon, so keep an eye out!

New LE Lynnderella It's Par for the Course

*Sent for review*

This new LE polish from Lynnderella is genius! I am pretty easily excited by nail polish, but this one makes me giddy. Lynnderella It's Par for the Course contains fine grass green glitter, green and black bar glitter, yellow triangle glitter, and white circle glitter. The green glitters are like the grass on a golf course, the triangles are like little yellow tees and the white circles are perfect golf balls! I really marvel at Lynn's creativity. A golf-themed polish with golf balls and tees, I love it! I'm not really into golf, but I am into green polish and clever names, so this is a huge hit for me.

It's Par for the Course was easy to apply. The bar glitters were pretty cooperative as far as bar glitters go, they lay nice and flat. There is a enough glitter in here that you could probably wear it alone in 3-4 coats, but I did one coat over Revlon Posh. I did fish around a bit for a few of the yellow triangles and white circles. They don't come out with every dip of the brush, but they aren't too hard to fish out.

If you're a green polish lover or a fan of golf, this polish is a must have! It's probably my favorite green Lynnderella since Salad Days. I have a huge collection of green Lynnderellas, so that's saying something! It's Par for the Course and other Lynnderella lacquers can be purchased at lynnderella.com and the new Lynnderella Storenvy. Model's Own Beach Bag

 *Purchased by me*

The Model's Own Polish For Tans collection captured my attention right away. A collection of super bright neons in fun colors? Yes, please! Now I am similar in skin tone to Casper the Friendly Ghost, but I do still like to rock neon polish all summer long. Despite my lack of anything even resembling a tan, they still look nice on me. When I was in London back in April, I knew I had to hunt down some of the Polish For Tans collection, starting with Model's Own Beach Bag. Beach Bag is an awesome bright peach. It is just about midway between pink and orange, just a really gorgeous color. It's definitely bright, but I think I would say it's only semi-neon. It's not eye-searingly bright, just pretty bright.

Beach Bag did apply like a neon though. It needs three coats for sure to cover up the streaks and even then, you have to apply it pretty carefully. I love this color, but the application wasn't a breeze. I guess it probably goes with the neon peach territory, China Glaze Sun of a Peach is a PITA too. Beach Bag also bubbled a few times during application. When it dried, all but one bubble (you can see it on the middle nail) basically disappeared, but it was kind of annoying.

If you can get this fairly inexpensively like I did (Model's Own polishes happened to be buy 2 get 1 free at Superdrug when I was in London), I would say it's worth it. It is a lovely color and with three careful coats you should be OK. If you'll have to pay full price plus shipping to the US and you hate polishes that might end up a bit streaky, I would skip.

China Glaze Thistle Do Nicely

 *Purchased by me*

I'm filing this polish in the "hard to photograph category". In typical neon polish fashion, China Glaze Thistle Do Nicely is a beauty to wear on your nails, but a beast to capture on camera. You'll have to excuse to darker than usual pictures, I ended up only being able to get the color of the polish in the shade. The sun completely washed it out and made it look like a pastel pink! Thistle Do Nicely is actually a bright punchy pink neon. It's a really gorgeous glowing color, the kind that China Glaze really does best. I always get sucked into this kind of neon pink. I'd say this is pinker and less coral than the original Flip Flop Fantasy, but the same level of brightness.

Thistle Do Nicely is a pretty standard neon in terms of application. It can get a bit streaky, so you want to really use as few brushstrokes to apply it as possible. You also will want to allow it to dry completely in between coats. This is three coats and the coverage was great. The third coat was more to even out any remaining streaks. Being neon, this polish also dries semi-matte, so you will want a layer of shiny top coat to finish off.

I've already worn Thistle Do Nicely 3 times this summer. I really love neons in the summer and this is a great one. I definitely recommend it if you love neon polish like me! Thistle Do Nicely and the rest of the City Flourish collection is still around in some stores and online.

New Lynnderella LE Cucumber Popsicle

 *Sent for review*

I'm really excited to show you the new Lynnderella Cucumber Popsicle in today's post! Cucumber Popsicle is a limited edition polish that's new and perfect for the summer months. What's more refreshing than a cucumber when it's hot out? A cucumber popsicle, of course! Cucumber Popsicle contains a few different sizes and types of small white glitter and very fine blue-green glitters in a heavily shimmered clear base. The blue shimmer in this polish is stunning! The mix of white with blue-green and blue shimmer is very summery feeling. It makes me think of picnics by a lake for some reason. I've swatched this over two completely different base colors for you today, one light and one dark. I'm showing the lighter base first, but make sure you scroll down for the dark one also, as it really shows off the shimmery base!

This is just one coat of Lynnderella Cucumber Popsicle over Zoya Tracie. Cucumber Popsicle is a breeze to apply. The glitter and shimmer was plentiful and I didn't need to place any of the glitters. Lynnderella recently started using a new style of brush in her lacquers. The brush is a bit wider than the old one and very nicely shaped. It's always been easy to apply her polishes, but I find it to be even easier now with the new brush shape.

And now for something completely different! Here is Cucumber Popsicle over Zoya Envy, a blackened ivy green creme. I wanted to show you Cucumber Popsicle over a dark color because I think you can really see how much shimmer there is over the dark base! The shimmering base with the white glitter makes this polish really unique.

This is also just one coat of Cucumber Popsicle over Zoya Envy. The picture below is a little out of focus, but I liked the way the shimmer looks here. Like a little galaxy on my nails! I think this polish will look amazing over a wide variety of base colors and give a totally different look depending on your choice of undies. It's a great polish for summer, but it's also really versatile year round.

Lynnderella Bunny's New Bonnet

*Lynnderella purchased by me, OPI sent for review*

The Bunny Magic collection was Lynnderella's core collection for spring 2014. I seem to always go bananas for Lynn's spring offerings. 2013's Everything's Coming Up Neon is still one of my favorite polish collections ever. Today I have Lynnderella Bunny's New Bonnet from Bunny Magic for your viewing enjoyment. Bunny's New Bonnet mixes two of my favorite colors together in one polish- purple and yellow! I absolutely love the combination of purple and yellow. I have yellow sheets and a purple comforter on my bed, I had a purple and yellow dance dress once, and I love to wear the two colors together on my nails! This polish has a nice mix of pink, lavender, purple, gold and yellow glitters in a pink-shimmered base. To really emphasize the yellow component, I wore OPI I Just Can't Cope-acabana as my base. And look, Bunny's New Bonnet has my favorite circle glitters!

This is one coat of Bunny's New Bonnet over two coats of I Just Can't Cope-acabana. Bunny's New Bonnet applied really nicely, there was plenty of glitter and it went on the nail easily. Lynnderella always nails the ratio of glitter to base. She is the master of glitter polish!

*Lynnderella purchased by me, OPI sent for review*

Lynnderella Bunny's New Bonnet and the rest of the Bunny Magic collection is available on lynnderella.com, Glitter ConnectNorway Nails, and now the new Storenvy.

SinfulColors Matte About Blue

 *Sent for review*

Well this week I am back to work after about a week off and you know that's always tough. I'm dragging a bit, but at least I'm wearing this gorgeous shimmering matte blue, SinfulColors Matte About Blue from the Silk + Satin collection. If you see Matte About Blue in the store, don't ignore it. It looks like a pretty standard shimmery dark blue, almost navy. I like dark blues, but I own a ton of them. However, once Matte About Blue gets on your nails, it's a stunning deep cornflower blue matte with gorgeous shimmer. The finish reminds me a bit of the old OPI Suedes (LOVE!) and the jewel-toned blue is rich, yet bright too.

This is three coats of Matte About Blue. This wasn't the most pigmented of the Silk + Satin polishes I tried, it definitely needed three coats and there is still a little VNL. The first coat was very sheer, but the second and third were better. I wish it was more pigmented, but at the same time, it's a matte so it dries pretty quickly. Three or four coats of this still takes less time than non-mattes. The formula was on the thinner side also, so be careful that it doesn't pool in your cuticles.

*Sent for review*

Matte About Blue is a totally stunning blue. If you like matte shimmers like I do, you will need this. Even if you don't like matte shimmers, I bet this will look beautiful with top coat. Just keep in mind that it will need three or four coats to be opaque. SinfulColors Silk + Satin collection should be available for $1.99 at Walgreens and other mass retailers now.

Born Pretty Store Cat and Skull Stickers

*Sent for review*

I am pretty much making it my mission to acquire all of the cat-themed nail art supplies available at Born Pretty Store. I am a card-carrying Crazy Cat Lady and I do love to have cats on my nails. I recently saw this new sheet of nail stickers featuring cats AND skulls (another favorite nail theme) and knew I had to have it. This sheet of stickers offers both large and small cats in red, green, black, pink and blue, two different kinds of skulls in red, black and green, a couple of crosses sticking out of grass (grave markers? Or am I being morbid?) and some weird 3-pronged boomerang looking items (as seen on my middle nail). I really bought this sheet for the cats and skulls and kinda wish it only had cats and skulls, but for $1.69, I still feel like I got my money's worth.

As you can see, I really went for an authentic cat lady feel to this mani and accessorized with some stray black cat hairs. I apologize for those- Binx went to the vet for his yearly check-up/shots today and he is still massively stress shedding. Poor baby! The vet said he is doing great and she admired how gorgeous he is though, so that's good! Anyway, these stickers were super easy to use. Just peel off the sheet, stick on your nail and finish with a layer of top coat to seal them in. For this look, I used OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls as my base color.

If you're looking for cat-themed nail art supplies, Born Pretty Store has you covered. These cute stickers are perfect for the crazy cat lady (like me) and also would be great for a Halloween mani (black cats and skulls!). It is never too early to start purchasing items for Halloween manis, or just Halloween in general. You can find these stickers here (they are item XF475) and don't forget to use coupon code ERJ61 at checkout for 10% off your order.

NOTD- Lynnderella Layering!

 *Purchased by me*

I'm off from work this week (yay!) and I wanted something really fun on my nails. Something with a whole bunch of sparkle and something that is maybe a few too many polishes to use during an average work week. I've been seeing a lot of manis lately with several different Lynnderella glitters layered together, or "Lynnderlayerings" and decided to give that a go! This masterpiece you see here is two coats of Lynnderella Golden Rules, and then some Lynnderella Tanzanite Truth, The Telltale Heart, and I Don't Mean Rhinestones dabbed on top. It looks like a party on my nails! I'm glad I decided to wear this on a week off, because it is very distracting!

My camera likes to make glitter look a little less dense than it really is, but this was nicely opaque in person. It is also wearing like iron! It's been on for 4 days so far with no a hint of wear. I used two coats of Essie Good to Go top coat to make it nice and smooth, but one coat of a thicker top coat like Seche would work as well.

 *Purchased by me*

In other Lynnderella news, Lynnderellas are now being sold on Storenvy as well as eBay. If you aren't a fan of purchasing on eBay, you now have another option. Some Limited Edition polishes will be available there at a fixed price, no worrying about auctions. You can now buy Lynnderella polish at lynnderella.com, Storenvy, Glitter Connect(Australia) and Norway Nails (Europe).
