Zoya PixieDust Summer 2013 Swatches, Part 2!

Base: one coat CND Stickey
Color: three coats Zoya Destiny
Top: none (unless otherwise indicated)
Application: good (out of poor, average, good, excellent)
The Zoya PixieDust Summer collection was sent for review. All opinions are my own honest thoughts.

Zoya Destiny is a gorgeous coral matte sparkle with gold shimmer. I had to re-swatch this beauty on a different day than I swatched the other two polishes in this post. I had filed my nails down in between the two days, hence the different lengths! I love the amazing coral color of Destiny, so much so that I'm wearing it right now as a full mani! It does remind me of OPI Jinx, although they have subtle differences. OPI Jinx has more golden sparkle and is slightly darker. Jinx is also more pigmented and is totally opaque at two coats. Destiny has a slightly jelly-ish base, so even at three coats there is a hint of VNL, but it feels purposeful and pretty, not annoying. I think I'm going to be doing a large comparison post for summer collections, so I may throw these two in there, but I would say that you don't need both polishes.

I used three coats of Destiny in these pictures and as I said, there was still some VNL. I don't mind it though, as the coral base looks kind of jelly-ish. It actually reminds me of stained glass, since it dries matte. It's a cool look! The formula was easy to apply, but I did feel like it took longer to dry than some of the other PixieDust shades. That's actually why I had to re-swatch on a different day. I had smudged a nail, despite letting them dry for 10+ minutes, and didn't realize until it had started raining outside!

The picture below was taken on the first swatch day and you can see the smudge on my ring finger. But this picture shows Destiny with one coat of Gelous. So pretty this way too!

Base: none
Color: three coats Zoya Miranda
Top: none (unless otherwise indicated)
Application: good (out of poor, average, good, excellent)

Zoya Miranda is a very pretty raspberry matte sparkle with silver and pink glitters. Zoya calls this shade "rose sparkle" and I guess I can see that, but I just think of raspberries when I see this kind of shade. Either way, it's lovely! It is definitely a great shade for summer.

Miranda was easy to apply and control on the nail. I felt like the dry time was a bit slow again (slower than Zoya's projected 10 minutes), but faster than Destiny. If you usually avoid glittery polish because you feel the application is sometimes hard, the Zoya PixieDusts will be great for you. They are so easy to apply. No patchy spots or anything to complain about really!

Here is a shot of Miranda with one coat of Gelous. I may like it even better this way!! So juicy looking!

Base: none (*** please use base coat with this shade, see notes below***)
Color: two coats Zoya Liberty
Top: none (unless otherwise indicated)
Application: good (out of poor, average, good, excellent)

Zoya Liberty is an absolute MUST HAVE for any blue-lovers out there! Zoya just describes Liberty as a "blue sugary sparkle", but that does nothing to tell you how vibrant and stunning a shade of blue this is! It reminds me of my favorite crayon color as a kid, cerulean, only a bit deeper! (Who else loved cerulean as a kid?!) If you, like me, have a drawer full of 90+ blue polishes and love them all, you will love Liberty. I do have one caveat that is sometimes the case with blues, you MUST wear base coat. Probably two coats of base coat! Liberty definitely has the propensity to stain and give you some Smurfette-looking tips. I did not use base coat, as I was just swatching this, and could tell when I removed it that I had narrowly escaped staining.

Liberty only needed two coats, you could even probably do one thicker coat! It's very nicely pigmented and applied beautifully. The dry time was well within the 10 minutes specified by Zoya. Liberty is probably my favorite shade from the PixieDust Summer collection!!

Here's Liberty with one coat of Gelous. Gorgeous!

Overall, the Zoya PixieDust Summer polishes are a really beautiful collection of summer shades. If you love the texture trend, you will want them all. There's not a dud in the bunch. If you hate the texture trend, I think you may still want a few to wear with a layer of shiny top coat. Liberty is probably my favorite of the collection, followed closely by Solange! Check out the other half of the collection in my post here.
