OPI Holland Part I: Spring Has (sorta) Sprung!!

Connecticut has been having unseasonably warm weather this winter. In fact, it leaves me wondering if it is even winter at all! Now that OPI's Spring 2012 Holland collection is out, I think my brain is permanently in spring mode. The OPI spring collection is very near and dear to my heart. OPI Russia was the first collection I actually went all over town stalking like a maniac (I NEEDED Russian Navy), so each spring, I get super excited for the spring OPI polishes. Holland is definitely fitting my need for springy colors right now!!

Kiss Me On My Tulips is a gorgeous bright blue-pink creme. I am going to wear this on my toes immediately!! It's so happy and reminds me of flowers. Despite owning an entire Helmer drawer of pinks, I couldn't dupe this exactly. Many shades I own are dustier, or just a different tone altogether. Kiss Me On My Tulips is definitely the prettiest pink I've seen in awhile. It helps that this is my dance school's color!!

Kiss Me On My Tulips applied flawlessly. This is two coats, and I can see myself wearing just one coat on a day that I'm in a rush. I will definitely be wearing this one often, when I need cheering up!

Red Lights Ahead... Where? is a very coral-leaning red. I am SUCH a sucker for coral reds. They look much more flattering on me than standard blue-reds, plus I just love anything with "coral" in the description. Just from first glances, this looks less bright than OPI On Collins Ave, another coral red that comes to mind, but I will compare them closer soon.

Red Lights Ahead... Where? was another flawless two-coater. No complaints with the formula at all. Look at how smooth it is in the macro shot above. This will also be on my toes all spring/summer.

Thanks A WindMillion is a pretty, soothing, sea green creme. I love the name of this a lot, I'm glad to see this collection has some great, classic OPI names. Thanks A WindMillion is a little grayed out, but definitely maintains a green feeling. It reminds me of seaglass, even though seaglass really doesn't come in the color.

Thanks A Windmillion only needed two coats and applied smoothly as well. I hear this is pretty similar to Zoya Bevin (again, will compare soon), but I needed three coats for Bevin and only two for Thanks A Windmillion, if that factors into your decision of which one to buy.

Did You 'ear About Van Gogh? is not the kind of color I'd normally get excited about, but I have to say, I am thoroughly impressed. Look at how amazingly smooth it is!!! This kind of grayed-out beige is very popular right now, but sometimes they make my hands look dead. Did You 'ear About Van Gogh did not, I actually love how it looked! I actually might wear this as the first full mani from this collection (gasp! Me, wear a neutral first???).

This is only two coats, which shocks me, because I can NEVER get lights cremes to be even, opaque, and smooth in two coats. The formula was delicious. I probably would wear neutrals more if they were all like this.

The first four polishes I tried from the OPI Holland collection are total wins in regard to the formula, opacity, and application. You may want to check your stash for dupes, as they aren't completely new colors. If you are debating between one or more of these and their dupe in another brand, go for these. Two coats and no fuss= more time to buy polish!

The OPI Holland collection will be available February 8, 2012, at Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, and ULTA, for $8.50 ($9.95 CAN) suggested retail for each Nail Lacquer.

Oh my gosh, thank you so much for posting this. I was sooo excited for this collection but I think out of the ones shown here the only one I NEED is Thanks a WindMillion - it's already on my wish list. So gorgeous <3

StephanieLouise- true, but that's good news for people who have a hard time getting either brand!

Thanks Melanie! Do you think the colors represent Holland well?

Lissa White- me too! I'm glad to hear it's popular with your clients!
