SEPHORA by OPI Leaf Him at the Altar

Leaf Him at the Altar, four coats, no flash

Nothing says SPRING like fresh new leaves on the trees and plants. That's why I am so excited to show you this green polish from the Sephora by OPI Spring 2010 collection!!! I've mentioned it a few times on the blog already (see the preview picture and the day I first discovered this polish).

Sephora by OPI Leaf Him at the Altar is described on Sephora.com as a "metallic vine green". It is definitely a vine or leaf green, but it's not a true metallic polish. In my opinion, that is a good thing! Most metallics have very visible brushstrokes and are kind of hard to work with. Leaf Him at the Altar has the metallic feel without the PIA application. There is so much silver shimmer in this polish, it's unbelievable!! Sometimes I can see flashes of gold shimmer as well. Looking at it up close, it really reminds me of a leaf. The shimmer looks like the pores (I don't think that's the correct term for a leaf LOL) on the leaf's surface. I know the first picture is slightly blurry, but it's color accurate and look at that shimmer!!!

Application was fantastic. Three coats was perfectly opaque for daily wear, I did a fourth coat for the camera. The drying time was excellent and the polish just flowed perfectly onto the nail. I took one picture with flash to really emphasize how much shimmer is in this polish.

Lastly, a picture in very low light. You can see that, even in low light, the shimmer is still visible and this is such a gorgeous color!

Overall, this polish makes it onto my top ten favorites list. I have been staring at it since I put it on. The formula was perfect, I wouldn't change a thing. This is one reason why I'm developing an addiction to Sephora by OPI polishes. They have all the perfection of OPI's formula (we all know OPI has the best formula around), but the colors tend to be more creative than what OPI normally releases. Plus, how can you not have a good chuckle at this name? Love it!!! I will be rocking Leaf Him at the Altar all spring and summer long!!! This one is a MUST MUST have!!

Sephora by OPI nail lacquers are available at Sephora stores and online at Sephora.

DISCLOSURE: A sample of this product was provided to me by Sephora by OPI

Oh, see, this is why I love you guys! I've seen other blogs w/ this polish and thought it looked bland, but your color accurate shot sold me!!! I have a credit at sephora so I'm justifying my cheating on my no buy (not that I've been very good about it! ;)). I'm off to sephora after work!

Incidentally, I was torn b/w Wildlife and Mad as a Hatter last night, but my friend called in the middle of my dilemma and really wanted to see my nails all covered in glittah, so MAAH won (for now). It's truly spectacular! (and so far wearing like iron)

Wildlife might have to wait until after Valentine's day, b/c I wanted to do either ruby pumps (CG) or a white polish w/ red hearts (a Love My Nails clear w/ red hearts I picked up at walmart for a buck)...decisions decisions!

It really is gildedangel, I am loving it!!!

Teresa- if you have a credit, it's not like spending money at all!! I really love this polish, it's so shimmery. It's one of those that is interesting enough to entertain you on a boring day lol.
Definitely keep Wildlife on your list, it's amazing!
I want to do white with hearts for Vday too!! I think Nicole by opi has a good one too!

omg it's so pretty! I only have one Sephora OPI, Absinthe, which is fabulous, and that this seems to have same kind on metallic quality to it. I'm starting to looove green polish.

this color is so pretty! definitely on my wish list as green is my all time favorite color. haha, and you are right by the way. plants do have pores, they're specifically called stomata but are in effect just like the pores in our skin. :)

Good to know Hyeran! So the shimmer in this polish reminds me of stomata then!
